Unfollowing status updates

Is it possible to implement a feature which would give you the option to not receive notifications on status updates to your liking? Frankly, the option to not get notifications from status updates after commenting on them is a little too ​general for my liking and I am receiving enormous amounts of notifications from status updates after I've commented on them, to which I no longer want and thus would have to go all the way back and delete my comment (or comments). Just a suggestion, though it probably has been called upon a few times already.

I highly agree. In fact, this is pretty interesting, right after I saw the crapload of 60 notifications, made up of 80% status updates, I nearly flipped a table.

 

Hm.....maybe suppose I flipped a table or two....

 

 

But anyways, I'd love to unsubscribe from status updates from certain people to my liking, not to admittance of annoyance of course, but so my notifications don't blow up with status updates I have to skim through, I sometimes even forget about reading some and skip over them.

Oh do you mean like specific status updates? Yeah, it does get annoying. I think this should be implemented, but I don't that it's very important.

What Bromium said, and that would be a good feature. As some status updates become spammy or no longer interesting.

This is easier said than done, as status updates aren't a "followable" item in IP.Board. They're implemented in an extremely simple fashion. It's up to IPS to make them individually followable. I do agree that this would be a useful feature, though, so I'll suggest it to them directly.
