Plus, Namco is no slouch in the fighting game department, so hopefully their intervening will lead to some much needed character balancing. Also, I guess Pac-Man should have pretty good chance of being in it. ^_^ Other thoughts on this interesting development?

I am very optimistic about this. Namco's got the experience with balancing fighting games and it's still going to be under Sakurai's direction so the quality is ensured.

I'm hoping Lloyd Irving and Klonoa make it in.

Please GOD NO to Pacman though. MAybe as an assist trophy or maybe even a stage, but if I have to look at him every time Im on the character menu... I dunno...

OH YES PLEASE :D Hm, but still, it is Nintendo's fighting game after all, so they probably wouldn't want Namco oversaturating it with their own characters. I'm guessing the cast will probably get 1 or 2 Namco characters at most, I think it has to be at least 98% Nintendo characters for it to still be Smash Bros. and not Nintendo vs Namco imo.

I really don't want the focus to shift off of Nintendo's characters, and Namco Bandai's characters aren't any of the third Third party characters I'd want to see, so I don't know what to think of this. =/

I'm cool that Namco's developing this, but I'm just wondering why Namco? I mean, I know they developed that one Mario Kart arcade game that only a handful of people have ever played but even then it's just weird to see them in charge of something big like this.

Just editing my signature to say that my behavior on here was cringe. I don't regret the friends i made but man i was cringe here

They also made Star Fox Assault for Nintendo. :P OT, I'm not sure why Nintendo is having Namco Bandai help develop something this big, but hey, Nintendo is no stranger to having third parties develop games for them, with the most recent examples being Fortune Street(Square Enix) and Pokemon Conquest(Tecmo Koei), so I don't think it's really that unusual. ^_^
