Wolfy 20 July 3, 2012 Share July 3, 2012 Kinda only started getting into the show a few weeks ago, but I'm kinda already testing the waters to see how I could go about doing some fan stuff for this awesome show! I'm pretty damn inspired by Rainbow Dash, so most of everything has been stemmed from her. That said, I started working on this genericish rock song to try and see if I could make it sound "Rainbow Dash" like XD. My vocals are pretty shoddy, so hopefully I can improve on them, but here's the demo: Sonic Rainboom Demo The lyrics are pretty cheesy, but here they are below as of yet: Today Is gonna be the day that I prove that I'm Worth every ounce Of the right to join the Wonderbolts No more moving clouds No more weather (Fly for the) I'm going after my dream (Wonderbolts) My moves will show them (Fly for the) I'm gonna make the team (Wonderbolts) Fly fast to the ground below you Just dash harder dreams may come true Your heart's fire burns so brightly Take what's your's now, fly free Take to sky and make it glow tonight A dash of color zooms A moment in time My Sonic Rainboom I'll dazzle the crowd today My idols checked in place Yeah I'll be there soon My Sonic Rainboom Hope you guys enjoyed it so far. I big drive for doing this is to see what I can add to the community, X3.
letterone 1,204 July 3, 2012 Share July 3, 2012 (edited) Well, that's new! Brony punk music! I liked it for the most part, though some of the vocals seemed a bit off, tune-wise. Edited July 3, 2012 by <letterONE> It's ironic how I fall just to get back up again...
Spring Veil 255 July 3, 2012 Share July 3, 2012 I thought it was well done. though as stated above some of the vocals were a tad off, but overall you have a very good singing voice. and the lyrics? They weren't cheesy at all, they were very creative, and innovative. I hope to hear more in the future! Wolfy 20 July 3, 2012 Author Share July 3, 2012 Oh thanks you guys! I'm not really a singer by any standards, but I guess I have some work cut out for me to practice at least. Related somewhat, I was trying to use Rainbow Dash's section in "At the Gala" as a grounds to practice my range and how well I can hit the notes. It mostly went alright, but toward the end there I really start to lose it, especially that last "Gala!" since it's so high up there "At the Gala" (Rainbow Dash section vocal cover)
MVC NVMXD JVRXD 2,406 July 3, 2012 Share July 3, 2012 Well. Is the guitar track electronic? If not, then I can give you some pointers. Besides that.... Your vocals. It seems that you're kinda of forcing a voice that isn't really your own. Next time, try experimenting with a voice that sounds a little more natural. And also, when your singing, your pitch moves up and down, in a way that doesn't really match the tone. Try to harmonize with the instruments, not go against them. That being said, I actually enjoyed this! I HAD TO FALL TO LOSE IT ALL BUT IN THE END IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER /WRISTS On 4/28/2013 at 8:13 PM, gooM said: Djenty...man you are crazy, but an awesome sort of crazy
Wolfy 20 July 3, 2012 Author Share July 3, 2012 Thanks. Are you asking if I recorded the guitar or not? Like if it's a vst or a live recorded electric guitar? It's a recorded deal if that's what you're asking, just double recordings of a lead and a rhythm. As for the singing, I could try that. The problem I have with using a voice more of my own is that it hardly has any "bite" to it, and for a song like this, I'd kinda like some edge to it, XD. However I should definitely give it a try, thanks, >D.
FortyShadows 217 July 3, 2012 Share July 3, 2012 Meanwhile earlier this year... yeah, composed by yours truly XD But yours is recorded and sung...*turns into jelly*
Wolfy 20 July 4, 2012 Author Share July 4, 2012 That's pretty awesome, >D. I like the different direction with it, and how upbeat it is (and that break around 1:12, <3) and that guitar vst sounds like it be super fun to play on guitar too. I might have to some time to show ya, X3. Also, I did another At the Gala thing, but this time kinda did it for the lols. I sung cleanly to a slightly downpitched version, then pitched it back up and surprisingly sounds like Rainbow Dash quite a lot! If only my real voice could just go a few tones higher and I might be able to sing it legit haha. At the Gala - Rainbow Dash Impersonation
ZANDER 30 July 4, 2012 Share July 4, 2012 I really liked the guitar and the feel of the song, but as other people have been saying, the vocals were just kind of all over the place. BUT I think I can help you out. I would suggest trying out melodyne. It's what I find alot of artists around the internet using today. I love it. Skip to 2:25 to see it in action. Oh and I obviously do not condone torrents (:
Wolfy 20 July 4, 2012 Author Share July 4, 2012 Holy crap, that's a pretty fancy tool O_o. I can't help but not want to get hyped up though, since turns out everything awesome isn't Mac compatible, or at least not compatible for crappy Garageband lawl. I really appreciate you showing me this though, I gotta look into it
