Akemi Homura 7,682 July 12, 2012 Share July 12, 2012 This has been on my mind for a while now, so here goes. On Life Advice threads, if a user feels the need to go into explicit detail about their problems, provided it's something sexual or otherwise highly problematic of nature, would it count as being NSFW? If so, if the user feels that if it's necessary for people to understand his/her perspective fully, would it be violating the "Rule 34" rule or is it acceptable in that regard? P.S: This was the thread which prompted me to make this one.
Bronium 512 July 12, 2012 Share July 12, 2012 I would generally assume that if people are going to: 1) Provide advice. 2) Ask for advice which is what the section is for, they should be prepared for some content that is generally "NSFW". I mean, what did you expect of a Life advice section? Fun time and happiness? I mean, you don't have to go into detail, that's described every single moment of your sexual experience. That's a bit too much. It doesn't help in anyway. I mean, how can it? That stuff is just clogging up the real problem, and makes it hard for people to give real advice. So for any future Life Advicers, don't go into unnecessary detail, eh? This one is a tad less creepy. Wouldn't you agree?
False Perception 482 July 12, 2012 Share July 12, 2012 As Bronium said, it's completely unnecessary to go into any semblance of detail when it's sexual in nature. If you feel the need that you MUST, than tag it as NSFW and containing it withing a spoiler marking it off with warnings that it's NSFW should be fine imho. Zoop 8,384 July 12, 2012 Share July 12, 2012 Explicit content is explicit content, and it does not belong here. If a thread needs to be marked 'NSFW' it should not be on this forum, period. The Life Advice board is not an appropriate venue for every issue someone might come upon in their life.
