null1 606 July 20, 2012 Share July 20, 2012 My point was more around: why using guns against bunnies and birds? It's a bit extreme for a sport no? It's like using TNT to open a can of food imo. Hunters will use smaller caliber rounds for hunting smaller game like rabbits. Several versions of the old .22 caliber (5.5mm) are the prime choice, and .22 is very small compared to the mid sized game cartridges.
LimeZest 8 July 21, 2012 Share July 21, 2012 I don't know anyone who uses a rifle to hunt birds. That's what shotguns are for.

It's like using TNT to open a can of food imo. And I did go hunting one or two times with my archery club. I find it really boring and not really hard at all, most of the time you just have to spot something, approach it silently and wait for a good oportunity to hit a vital point for a quick death and I heard it's even easier when you have a trained dog with you so... Meh... I'm not against hunting, I just find it... not interesting http://mlpforums.com/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.png Honestly most birds, like pheasants and ducks, fly SOOOOOOOOO fast that you couldn't use just a bow to kill it unless (a. you are an effing great shot, or (b. you sneak up on em. Which is way easier said than done. I go duck hunting a bunch and they elude me every time. I have only gotten a couple of ducks. The fly so fast you have to shoot before the bird to hit it. There definitely is skill involved. It would only be op if I took a AA-12 out there and just unloaded (for those who do not know, an AA-12 is a fully automatic shotgun) [CLICK THE SIG FOR OC] (Signature created by Azura) Shinobu is best girl. What do you hunt? What's your method? I love it when people work their dogs.
