Heyo!

 

So lately I've been trying to get better at singing while playing guitar at the same time, and Hay Ms. Derpy has kinda been the "go-to song" for practicing. So that said, I thought I'd give it a record to see how I did, and I guess that's it I guess haha. I know I mess up a bit now and then, but it's all out of good fun, XD.

I agree with you Reoga13, very good job! Would have been 20% better if you would have had your guitar plugged in. Other than that, it was awesome! Also how long have you been playing guitar?

Yeah, I really wish I could have. I have my amp, but at the place I'm renting I kinda gotta be curtious to others and what not. I really do want to redo it later when I get back home at the end of August though, so I'll definitely do that then (or with an acoustic guitar even). Thanks though, <3.

 

Also, I guess about 12 years now I've been playing guitar, mostly on that Gibson SG you see there.

It sounds like you're very stressed while singing. I remember having that problem when I was singing in Choir for my school. Try relaxing yourself, maybe drink some tea to calm your throat out (hot would be preferred here) and do some simple exercises to help with releasing your stress (like simple Yoga sets)

 

Start doing some vocalization exercises to help out with pitching your voice in different ranges and do them daily. It'll help clear out your throat as well. And try making different pitches in your singing, it'll richen your voice more and give it a greater personality.

 

When you actually sing for a full recorded song, make sure you get a good microphone and record in a small space, preferably somewhere that doesn't have too many reverberating to bounce off sound, such as getting some foam and placing them on the walls. It'll make your voice more pronounce on recordings.

I'm hoping I can get like, an actual mic here soon before I move back to the states XD. So far it's just been the crappy iMac camera built into the monitor embarrassingly enough haha. So at the moment I guess I can only deal with what I have.

I hear ya. Microphones can be costly, but you could probably pick one up for about 50 American Dollars from a Walmart in the states, a nice one for around 75-125; it'd be about a 1.6 multiply then subtraction to get pound's ratio.

Yeah, XD. I'm actually in Canada right now, just finishing up a course for Audio in Media, so I got an eye on a mic or two that I really want to get, but it's like you said, it gets costly, XD. Well, that seems to go for anything music related honestly haha.

I'll be getting a Microphone someday in the near future after I better get acquainted with Adobe Suite for cartoon making. Hope your music works out for you, just don't forget about the exercises since they WILL help with everything the mic and room foam can't right now.
