All Nightfall could do was sit there and think for several moments. Maybe Vinyl did really need him for the next couple of days. And with the Grand Galloping Gala so soon...

Nightfall got up and peeked into Vinyl's bedroom to make sure she was all right. He thought it would be better if he slept on the couch again.

"Hey, Vinyl? If you need me, I'll just... Be on the couch, if you don't mind."

 

"Um... Do- do you want to sleep in here... With me?"

Nightfall was getting nervous.

Nightfall blushed. He felt awkward and nervous. He felt the best thing to do was to hug her back, so he did. Next thing he knew, he was asleep.

Vinyl woke up late that morning. She got out of the bed and hopped into the shower

 

Nightfall woke up a bit later and noticed he was in Vinyl's bed. He got out and went into the main room until he heard the shower. He blushed, then sat down on the couch, looking around and hoping there was food and coffee somewhere.

Vinyl poked her head out of the shower and called for Nightfall. "Nightfall. Can you grab some soap for me? Oh! And a towel?"

Vinyl poked her head out of the shower and called for Nightfall. "Nightfall. Can you grab some soap for me? Oh! And a towel?"

"Um... Where are they, exactly?"

Nightfall stood up and started looking around. He felt a bit nervous and shy, and nealy stumbled and broke a vase twice? He tried to tell himself it was ok, and he was just tired. He soon found them, and walked over towards the shower.

"Um... Here- here they are..."

"Thank you, Nightfall. And stop being so nervous, just relax. Take some breaths. Ok?" Vinyl took the soap from Nightfall and finished up in the shower, then she took the towel, dried off, and got out. She walked out of the bathroom and gave Nightfall a kiss on the cheek

"Sorry. I've never... Been close to anyone before."

Nightfall walked over to the couch and sat down. He tried to relax a bit. He laid back and took some deep breaths. He started to loosen up...

"You seem to be feeling better... Are you? I mean, if you are, that is great! I, um..."

"I'm feeling a bit better, yes. I find that if you smile, no matter how bad you're feeling, you'll always feel better. At least, that's what both of my mothers told me." Vinyl walked over to the couch and sat down next to Nightfall hen she put a hoof on his shoulder and looked into his eyes. "I'm sorry for worrying you yesterday."

"I'm feeling a bit better, yes. I find that if you smile, no matter how bad you're feeling, you'll always feel better. At least, that's what both of my mothers told me." Vinyl walked over to the couch and sat down next to Nightfall hen she put a hoof on his shoulder and looked into his eyes. "I'm sorry for worrying you yesterday."

 

"I would agree with them."

He looked back into her eyes.

"It's ok... We're both fine now... And I'm sure we'll both be fine if... If we..."

Something clicked in his brain. He didn't know what it was but something had clicked and was having a major effect on him. He leaned over and kissed Vinyl.

"Hm!... Mmmm." Vinyl was a bit shocked about the kiss at first, but then she relaxed and leaned into it. She would be lying if she said she didn't see it coming, but she didn't expect it at this moment

Nightfall felt a new feeling, a warm one, travel down his spin. He leaned back on the couch.

"Vinyl... I... Thanks. Thanks for everything, I guess."

Nightfall felt different, changed, new. He wasn't the old self, who was shy around Vinyl and everyone else. He knew this moment was a life changer.

At that moment, Vinyl felt a special connection between herself and Nightfall. She knew the feeling was true when she looked into his eyes. "Nightfall, I... I love you."

At that moment, Vinyl felt a special connection between herself and Nightfall. She knew the feeling was true when she looked into his eyes. "Nightfall, I... I love you."

 

"Vinyl, I, um... I guess I figured you did last night.... To tell the truth, I've been trying to hold back feelings because I thought they weren't true... They are."

Nightfall looked back into Vinyl's eyes.

"I can say now... I love you, too, Vinyl. Don't worry me anymore, though."

Vinyl showed a small smile. "I promise I won't worry you anymore. I'm hungry. Let's go eat something. Is there anything that you had in mind?"

"I feel tired... Must be the lack of sleep I had a couple of days ago."

"Anywhere you had in mind, Vinyl? You know the best food places around..."

"Um... I can't think of anywhere right now... How about Pony Joe's Cafe? He's got really good donuts and coffee. I especially like his sprinkle donuts. Do you want to go there?" Vinyl couldn't think of anything she wanted more than some sprinkle donuts right now

Nightfall got up off of the couch and helped Vinyl to her hooves.

"And donuts? No, that doesn't sound bad right now... I am kinda hungry..."

"And I'll need that coffee."

He laughed.

Wits tossed and turned, having the strangest dreams and getting stranger. He wondered through a purple field and up a wall to a large house of glass.

 

"Alright..." he said, with little memory of what had happened recently. "This is the last time I eat sugar before I go to bed."

 

In the realer world, he twitched, and suddenly shot off a spell at the nearest pony, a love spell.

"Ok then! Let's go!" Vinyl yanked Nightfall up and out of the room then down the stairs. She smiled the entire time, releasing endorphins the whole way. She passed Alfred and gave him a peck on the cheek. "Bye Alfred!"

Vinyl and Nightfall arrived at Pony Joe's and Vinyl nearly Nightfall up and sat him down on a stool

Nightfall either hadn't been affected by the spell or the effects hadn't kicked in yet. Either way, he didn't know that the spell had been cast.

"Nope! I'm smiling, remember? It releases endorphins all over my brain. Those are the things that make you feel good and happy! I think I may have been smiling too much though. Hey Pony Joe! Can I have a dozen donuts?" All the while, Vinyl was spinning in her seat.

"Um... Sure Vinyl," came the reply

"Nope! I'm smiling, remember? It releases endorphins all over my brain. Those are the things that make you feel good and happy! I think I may have been smiling too much though. Hey Pony Joe! Can I have a dozen donuts?" All the while, Vinyl was spinning in her seat.

"Um... Sure Vinyl," came the reply

 

Nightfall grabbed Vinyl's chair and stopped it from spinning anymore. He had a serious, and slightly suspect, look on his face.

"That's not quite it... something else has happened... You must be intensely happy about something... What is it?"

Nightfall was a bit confused on the inside. Why was Vinyl acting up? Less than 12 hrs ago, she was crying in the middle of the street. Now, here she is, spinning in her chair like a filly.
