There was almost no evidence of anyone there except for the thunder cloud. The feather is probably a red herring, to lead someone out. However, magic doesn't leave any trace of anything right? Sonata could've casted that spell that Twilight used to go on clouds like pegesi, right? And she also could've teleported out using her magic too, leaving no traces of evidence of her. She also could've teleported Applebloom in the forest, leading to the conclusion how Applebloom got out. Applebloom also said that she saw a big flash of light before she got out and that could've been her teleporting out and the light from Sonata's horn. So this is what made me think Sonata did it. It's not even cannon in the series yet and therefore also doesn't count as actual evidence yet!
