Moonlight glanced back at Thunder Twister, who had also noted the dense forest that they would have to travel through. He sighed, still thinking of the captains confident words that it wouldn't be so hard because of a mere coin. It was good to know at least someone agreed this wasn't going to be an easy task. Even a magic bolt would only break down only a few inches of forest, and it would take a half hour to be able to accomplish the same feat again. He would only use his magic in more conservative and helpful ways. Moonlight looked up and estimated that it was nearing nighttime. We should set camp for tonight, then start making our way toward the treasure in the morning

Thunder twister jumped off of his watch point and glided towards the party and coming to a halt and landing just behind them. "Didn't see many areas where flying would get us farther then twenty meters. Anypony find signs of other inhabitants?" He looked through the trees with determined eyes

Thunder twister was in the crow's nest watching the surrounding seas for any other ships. Well this is incredibly dull. Hope we get some action soon. He shouted down to the deck, "Cap'n! Pretty dense forest coverage, I'll not have an easy time flying around there!" He quickly double checked his arrows, bow and armor

Swift and his crew reached the Beach head, "okey everypony check your gear to make sure you've got everything you need" he said as he lowered his pack to make sure he had his bottle of ale with him and he also checked his guns

 

"once you have done that gather around the map" he said as he levitated the map out of his pack

Moonlight checked he had his provisions and he circled around the map. It didn't show any major details like where the forest was or even the shape of the island. It basically was made up of the general placement of the volcano and a simple circle to represent the island. There were other symbols that he didn't recognize, but he would find out soon anyway.

Thunder Twister trotted up and was awaiting the map to be shown, though he still was looking around. "Cap'n, if I may say, staying still for too long might not be a good idea. Might make this quick as ye can."

Looking at Thunder Twister, Moonlight replied, "It's getting dark, so we'll have to stick around anyway. Might as well make camp here, and if we sleep for a total of say, 8 hours, then we'll take turns being guard, each pony getting 2 hour shifts. If we can find a way to light a fire, the sentry will be able to hold a torch, which might present us as inhabitants of the island to anyone who might be here." Realizing that he had interrupter the captain, he added, "Now, about the map?"

Swift turned to Moonlight "agreed it would be unwise for us to venture into the forest at night exspecialy with the creatures that hunt at night" he said as he marked there posision on the map and drew a line to indicate the path they would need to take. "okay drag those boats further up the beach well be using them as our shelter" he said as he bagan walking along the beach

 

"Thunder Twister you take the first watch then Lyraica then Moonlight!"

"Aye Aye Cap'n." He then trotted over to the landing boats and dragged one up just a few meters from the edge of the forest.

One, he thought.

He then ran back and took another and put it across from the first one with a few feet in the middle of them

"Let me grab some flint and steel from the ship."

He then took flight back to the ship and returned a few minutes later with a pouch around his neck that was not there before. Presumably the flint and steel

"I'll be findin' some burnin wood."

He headed into the forest with an empty bag on his side

Moonlight lifted one of the boats using magic and brought it further up the beach. Leaving Lyraica and Thunder Twister to bring up the other boat, he lay down in the boat where Swift Echo was already asleep, and looked up at the stars while Thunder Twister stood watch. It was already as good as pitch black, the moon illuminating the isle. Then he fell asleep.

Thunder Twister got up in a tree near the camp and kept watch from there after starting a small fire.

He whispered under his breath "Well that's that, for now anyway."

Jaide stepped out of the boat and set hoof on the sandy beach. She looked around to see all seashells and tiny crabs. She looked into the jungle with an emotionless exp<b></b>ression. "Alright captain, where to?" she asked while reaching into her bag to take out a tiny knife.

 

"Into the forest, me maties!" Exclaimed Tune Twist. "We must cover as much ground as possible if we are to reach the treasure in time!" He pulled out a slightly soggy map and began scanning it. As Moonlight replaced Lyraica, he sat on the sand, torch in hand. Without his torch, he might have been qualified as blind. But there was one thing. There were torches in the distance, near the right side of the island from them. They could have been natives, but they were slowly moving toward the volcano. With that the creatures at night. These were definitely not natives, and there was a chance they were after the treasure as well.

Captain Swift rested on the boat edge as he began to flip the gold coin, he then began to hear a roaring sound from deep with in the forest, 'it seem the Chimera's are hunting, good thing we didn't go deep into the forest' he thought to him self ad he took a swig of his ale and notice that it was half full 'ah better save some'

Moonlight, after his shift was over, had the strangest dream. He dreamed about the Southern Raiders, how they hacked their way through the jungle. He dreamed of the volcano, how it could erupt and engulf them in devilish lava. He dreamed about the inhabitants and creatures of the island, and the countless dangers they presented. He awoke with a start, perhaps half-way through Swift Echo's shift. As Swift eyed him curiously, Moonlight knew it would be wise to not sleep again that night.

Swift observed as Moonlight woke up, but then went back to marking the're route they'll be taking, 'hhmm so this gold coin should take us to the grave of its old owner there should be sum treasure there but we'll be sure to leave some so he can rest in piece' he then flipped the coing again remembering the the only reason there going there first is to get the second coin which will lead them to the real treasure.

 

Edit/OOC iv decided to draw the map and the current locations of both crews and i'll post it on the OOC thread and i'll wait for the head RPer to conferm it as canon

Jaide exclaimed "Arr!" to let her captain know that she agreed. She followed him into the thick, green forest. She took out her sword to SLASH through some leaves that got into her path. "I'm guessing we have to go straight towards the volcano," she thought.

Thunder Twister woke from his slumber with a start and quickly confirmed his surroundings. "All as it should be." He said quietly to himself. He stood up and, restless as always, flew up into the air a few meters and stretched. Quite up here, I like it. He thought to himself before landing back on the ground

Moonlight sat inside one of the boats as the sun broke over the horizon out in the ocean. Might as well get something to eat for the crew, shouldn't be too hard, he thought. He wandered in the direction of the forest, and knew he would find something when he saw signs of squirrels and rabbits. He took a carrot from the top of the tree with his horn and brought it to his hoof. He knelt down and offered it to a stray bunny. But something got to it first. Something appeared out of the tree at lightning speed and snatched the rabbit in one talon and the carrot in the other. Moonlight immediately reacted. He froze the owl that had snatched his crew's breakfast from his reaches, and brought it back to him. Roasted owl wasn't such a bad idea, actually. He might not get something as good as this for a while, so might as well save the provisions for when we need them and have some owl and rabbit with a side of carrots, he thought happily. He gathered a few more rabbits after he made sure both the bunny and owl were dead, and brought them back to the camp.

Swift lay'd back and watched the sunrise while he finished potting to route they were going to take on the map 'hhmm this should be all pathways to were we need to go, however this was years ago so the forest may have reclaimed the path'

 

he then got up ready for breakfast bringing the map with him.

 

OOC here is the map of the island, its stuff w line shaded are the forest and the shaded part of the volcano indicated the parts we cant climb and iv mark our locations and possible locations of the southern raiders, also the route is plotted.

Jaide was walking around slashing through the leaves when all of a sudden, she hears a growl. "What was that!?" she exclaimed as she whipped around her sword. She heard the growl and again and traced it back towards her stomach. "Oh," she thought. "It's just my stomach," Jaide caught up to the captain and asked, "Captain, can we stop for a quick food break?"

Lyraica was extreamly bored, nothing to do on a ship, eh? She took out her sword, and flung it at a loose wooden plank, tearing it off the ship. She grabbed it, and then put it back in place. She did that a couple of times to test her accuracy. She was pretty good at the sword, she was the swordslady after all. Being one of the only ladies on the ship could get boring, though...she walked up to the captain.

 

"Captain, how much longer till we hit land?" Lyraica asked, because she wanted to get some real piracy done.
