MLP Forums Review (Something Of The Sort)

Well, here I can tell you a few things that make the forums great and why I love it and most of the members.

Well to start off, I can discuss the members and overall community. The community is very accepting to everyone, including haters (Which I am too stubborn to do for haters). I see members helping their fellow members and supporting each other all the time. Everyone has a good sense of humor and makes funny jokes to cheer one another up. The amount of art in the community is massive. Someone can literally search anything pony and it will either be made or be waiting to be made. Someone can request art to be made, and sure enough, it will be made. The majority of the community is pretty clever and witty. You will find the nicest people here on MLP Forums. You won't see much hate on the forums, but unfortunately there are drama queens who like to cause issues that will make it seem bad, but trust me, it isn't like that most of the time. The people you see are usually very active. Throughout your MLP Forums experience, you will meet people who care for you and are there for you.

The layout of the site is amazing. This site is very well layed out and has many features. Status updates, mentioning members, quoting, avatars, badges, signatures, personalized profiles, recommended threads, and the list goes on and on. You won't be bored with the amount of threads either. Even if you can't find a thread that hasn't been made yet, you can make it within a few seconds and start chatting with members almost instantly.

MLP Forums doesn't end there. You can keep up to date with what's going on on the forums by liking/following the MLP Forums Facebook page and Twitter. This also includes a deviantART page that displays art that is made by the members of the forums. Not to mention the Synchtube Fridays each week in which the members of the forums vote on two or more movies to watch on Friday in which they can chat with each other whilst viewing.

The staff of the site is great as well. They take your opinion into consideration before making major decisions and they aren't as strict as some other moderators on other sites. Not to say they are perfect, but they are close to it. They don't seem to be moderators, more of friends to an extent. They work hard to help you and your fellow members. The owner of the site will respond to you and help you as well. That is a rare opportunity that hardly happens on forums other than this one.

With so many sections of threads it is easy to find a section that most interests your personal preferences. You can find yourself messing around and being silly to having a debate with fellow members about a subject to posting art and then to roleplaying. Boredom is almost non-existent on MLP Forums.

Video games! MLP Forums has a Minecraft Server and a Team Fortress 2 server to play with your fellow members. You can help build Equestria on the MLP Forums Minecraft server while playing with your friends.

There is an entire section for requesting help for problems with the site and moderators and/or members will come as soon as possible to answer your question. You can talk about the show and make predictions. Not to leave out the Official MLP Forums Skype Group where you can chat with friends and goof off.

NAILED IT.

Surely there has to be some aspect of the site that you feel needs work or is lacking? I love this place too, don't get me wrong, but it's certainly not infallible. It does a great job for sure and it's way better than any alternative you can find out there but it's not perfect.

As I have been lurking throughout the forum for a good... hour or so, I can agree on many of these points. I have been throughout many forums throughout my long treks through the depths of the internet, and this place seems like the greatest of them all. A diamond in the rough, if you will. Allow me to explain:

The moment I joined, I was welcome by so many kind people, a gift I have never recieved from anywhere but here. It fills my heart with joy to see such nice people on a forum, and even more to see that most people act the exact same way!

Not merely moments ago, I posted in "Crispy's Metal Thread" to post a band I quite enjoy, and expected to be rediculed by it. Instead, I was welcomed into the thread, and welcomed to share my tastes in music. Again, I have never felt this gift before.

I may have a lot to learn about this forum, that much is for sure. But as of now, I can agree with Dragonshy. This forum is a wonderful, wonderful place, and the community makes it shine even brighter!

Thanks for reading!

I know. I said that it wasn't perfect, but it was close to perfect.

Not to say they are perfect, but they are close to it.

The rest I stated the things that make the forums great. I didn't say it was perfect. Also I wouldn't want a perfect forum because it would be boring to have it all.

I didn't have the opportunity to welcome you or see you yet, but I would like to give you a formal welcome now.

"Welcome to the forums, I'm sure you will enjoy it here as it is a great community with nice and accepting members."

I'm glad you found a place and friends within an hour! That's a great story. :)

It's fine that you think that they're close to perfect. I'm sure Feld0 and staff appreciate the glowing review but knowing Feld0, I'm sure he would also like to hear constructive criticisms and what improvements can be done as well, not just all positive feedback.

tl;dr - positive stuff is awesome and I agree in most part, just also include what you feel could be better

Well I personally don't have any constructive criticism. I sincerely and honestly love the way it is now.

That's cool. I was just under the impression that you were going to include both positive and negative since you called it a review :P But that's what happens when you assume *insert old saying here*

It may say review, but it also says "of the sort". I'm guessing the thing he was going for was showing the positive side, like in a critique, but not showing the negatives. It would actually be called an appreciation thread, though! Either way, it doesn't distract from the thread being awesome!

But that's what happens when you assume people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones. So inspirational Doc.

Thank you for the feedback.

Honestly, considering how much criticism - constructive and otherwise - we get regarding everything we so much as think of doing (which isn't a bad thing), I daresay that a purely positive feedback thread here and there is extremely welcome for a change of pace. ;)

Well there is a difference between constructive criticism and straight up raging. I'd say the more recent concerns have been more of the raging type lol. So yes, this is a nice change ^_^

MLPFORUMS.COM isn't a perfect site Dragonshy, you'll need to include the negative aspects of the site for the review to be accurate, otherwise we're no better than haters who do not listen to our infallible logic.

Well, I like it just the way it is. And don't think I'm saying this because I'm a mod. It is absolutely refreshing to have some positive feedback for once as Zoop has said instead of people yelling and criticizing a lot. It makes an Arylett sad. And you don't wanna make her sad!

Besides that, positive feedback can also be constructive criticism! It tells you what you already have that's good, and don't need to improve. I think that Dragonshy is merely showing us the good aspects, since many others have shown has the bad.

I agree with you Dragonshy. This is the only site I know of where the head admin himself responses to the support emails. And the helpfulness of mods is just great, I got this problem with registration solved extra quickly by Swoop even before Feld0 was able to reply to my support email. *insert standing ovation here*.

It's a good site and all, but this reads like a brochure or an advertisement, certainly not a review.

I point out the things that make it great, so what? That's my review. Also, notice I stated, "(Something of the sort)" in the title. -_(\

I was about to say that that "(something of the sort)" was like a clause, in case you screwed up. Did I ever teach you DShy? Because we sure do have to the same habits...

Or maybe I put *(Something of the sort)* because it was something of the sort of a review. Think about that. -_(\ Edited by DRAGONSHY.MOV

I suppose there's something messed up with our country's internet or something. And even if you hardly get a chance to say such things, thinking this way should be good enough :) And I can agree to all that you have written. And oh look, you'll get the printer gone a day before I'll leave for a camp :D
