Birthdays and members with no posts.

I made this because of the birthday section on the front page. Members may send a PM to the members with a happy birthday message. However the front page only features 5 members, when today, there are 9 birthdays. I see that one of the members have 0 posts. (RainbowJack). Another member with 8 posts is hidden and not presented on the front page, but R-Jack is. What I'm saying is, I believe that the front page should present the members with birthdays on that day by post count and or brohoof count, or something along those lines where the members with zero posts don't get ahead of someone who at least posted. Finding a way to deal with members with no posts would be good too. Maybe saying that they have to get out of their Blank Flank rank within two months before their profile is suspended.

I think the birthday list should mix up every once in a while when you refresh the page, that way all the members get featured.

(I don't mean to sound rude, but I was just a bit annoyed that someone with 0 posts was on the front page rather then the members who made at least a few posts.)

Yes I agree that the system is a bit unfair. However I don't think that it should be based on how many posts you made. You can be active on the forums, but haven't been as long as others, so if that system would be put into system you wouldn't be shown just because the other members have been on the forums longer than you have.

But I think that the list should get mixed once you refresh the page so everybody gets shown at least once.

I suppose that's not such a bad idea, it would be cool to see them mixed up a bit/randomized at least.

Yeah. Like I said, I would want it to mix up as it does when it shows the members who are online. :)

To be honest I made this account months ago and only started posting until now, I don't know about other people and what they might do, nor do I know the point of this statement(seriously, why I am I typing)

In any case, yes it seem quite unfair to say in the least that those who spend there time here more then anyone else is doesn't get their birthday shown whilst those who made one and left gets theirs shown.

This is an amazing idea! I swear, this'll allow the recognition of others rather than just 5! Such a great idea.

The best part is the randomization. No butthurt over "who's more important".

It's now randomized! So you don't have to worry. Everyone will get their fair share of time with a degree of error. :)

This one is a tad less creepy. Wouldn't you agree?

What do you mean? It's not randomized currently, a moderator hasn't even replied yet.

Were you talking about something else?

I was talking about your proposal.

He mustn't started replying before you edited your post, so I informed him of the edit.

Oh the edit was because I wanted to add, Doctor to my name. I edited it before any replies were added. ;)

Only seems fair. It's not fair to people who have done nothing more then just joined and lurked, or not even come on at all, to be ahead of someone who has shown at least some initiative and made some posts.

Exactly, and the point is, if nobody knows who he is and he hasn't made any posts then how would I wish him a happy birthday if I don't even know who he is. For example, I knew Iron when he was still posting, so I can send him a legitimate. Birthday message that comes from the heart.

Sounds like a good idea to me. I am sure this can be fixed in some way. Sometimes I am too lazy to check the full birthday list to see if there's any members I know. But with this I would be able to see my friends there easily C:

I think this is a great idea but I don't think it should have anything to do with posting it would be better if it would just refresh every half hour or something.

Like I said, it should refresh whenever you load the front page. What I said before that was with a darker tone, that's why I put the refresh idea in bold. -_(\

We should give those who ARE active a Happy Birthday, rather than the people who haven't made much posts in like a month. The people who made no or little posts since they joined, don't deserve recognition on their birthday, because they're not active on here at all. The lurkers need to either stay active by being active or be just an anonymous lurker who signed up for nothing.

I like this. Alot.

So when it's my birthday, I get a ton of PMs and comments and profile views.

Seriously, it's a good idea, I felt the same way as OP. Some people would get more recognition that more...deserving(?) (Can't think of a word to use without sounding like a d*ck).

Since I don't read the posts above, I'm just going to say what I will.

Simple solution: A blank flank can't have the birthday featured.

Here's something else: Delete blank flank accounts after 7 days of inactivity.

If we have the birthdays feature by posts, we might have someone like Finest with a massive post count (he wouldn't do it though) who might change his birthday everyday just to be featured.
