Vinyl looked at him and took off her glasses and looked at him with a 'Seriously?' look. She was a little irritated because she never heard of this Pegasus before, and he definitely never heard of this party, so why was she being called for something so small, after all she is the 'Best in Equestria' She was always happy to help someone out, but she felt rather insulted that she was supposed to help someone she had never heard of, she decided not to underestimate him and give him the benefit of the doubt though. "Yeah, probably." She said in response to his earlier comment. "When is this party going down?" She asked without any hesitation.

 

Clover was curious now, she really wanted to know what went on in his life that he was too shy to say. Was he telling the truth about his life being boring or was he really a... "SECRET AGENT!" She thought as she grinned and stared him down.

Holo could see that Vinyl was getting annoyed. "Oh! Uhh... I think the party is starting soon!" Holo said, nervous. He ran over to the turntable, and started practicing using the turntable. 'What if Vinyl thinks I'm lame and leaves?' Holo thought, genuinely scared.

She didn't say anything, but she began to stare at him. Amare didn't like it in the least, and she just kept it up. He figured that she DID want to hear about his past. He thought about it for a moment, but that star made it kind of hard to concentrate, and he decided that it couldn't hurt to talk about himself. "I , you see I ummm, I used to ugh, used to live in Ponyville..." he said as his voice got slightly more quiet with every word.

Vinyl nodded and walked over to him as he practiced on the turntables, she noticed a few errors in his movements, he was rather sloppy compared to herself, but she quickly tried helping him. "Hey Holo, you're being too quick about it, you need to relax a little bit and maybe let the song play for more than you usually would..." She said as she trotted over to him and set her glasses down on a different table.

 

Clover knew he was hiding something now, of course a secret agent would say something like that, if he lived in Ponyville, wouldn't she have seen him before? "So how long did you live there? When did you leave?" She said almost sounding like she was interrogating him.

Holo heard Vinyl say to slow down a bit. He decided to try it, then heard the song play perfectly. He was still nervous about Vinyl getting annoyed, so he didn't make a big show-off out of it. He continued to play the turntables.

Vinyl noticed he was actually not that bad, she wanted to say something nice to him, but she was still cranky because she never got to finish her nap, she was gonna take it out on Ditz, but it isn't her fault, that and it wouldn't have been the first time she yelled at Ditz for waking her up. "Hmm..." She said as she watched his hooves play over the turntables.

Holo felt Vinyl watching him.

"Oh! Is something the matter, Vinyl? Did you want a try?" Holo asked. He stepped aside for Vinyl to have a go at the song playlist.

"I.... I lived there my who- whole life, until about a umm, a year ago." He ansered her. He was slightly blushing, and he couldn't look her directly in the eyes. "Its really not much of a story." he managed to croak out.

Vinyl looked at him and shook her head. She hadn't done it in a little while, there wasn't much going on in Ponyville except rebuilding ever since the Changelings had attacked. "Nah, I think I will wait until the party" she said as she trotted over to the wall and leaned up against it and closed her eyes. She wasn't sure who this pony was but she was actually planning on leaving after she heard she was called for backup for somepony she didn't even know. "So where ya from?" She asked still with her eyes closed.

 

Clover stared at him with a suspicious look, kind of like Pinkie Pie staring at AppleJack during Party of One. "You sure there isn't something you aren't telling me, that you might have forgotten?" She said prying at him.

"You know, I have no idea..." Holo said. "I never even met my own mother! I just remember living out my days as a less-known DJ." Holo closed his eyes for a minute. "But as far as I remember, I lived in Canterlot all my known life."

"Ugh nooo, not really?" this was getting awkward, who did she think he was a spy?

 

Suddenly the waiter brought them out there food, and Amare hoped that Clover would like what he had chosen for her.

 

"I have to ask, i ugh..... why do you want to so much about me?"

Vinyl opened one eye after what she had heard, it sounded similar to her life, except she was fostered until she was an adult. "Interesting..." She simply said. "You really can't remember anything else? Not even how you got famous?" She was beginning to get curious, there was no way you could just be famous and be done with everything.

 

Clover looked at the waiter, then back to Amare. "He's on to me..." She thought. She had to act fast, she knew he was a secret agent, could he possibly be hired by... Her Father? "B-because well.. Well friends know about each other right?" She blurted out quickly as she thanked the waiter for the food.

"We are... friends?" he said in a timid yet excited way. This changed his demeanor slightly. "So uumm, a- after lunch, there is this party, and umm, i was wondering if you might like to go with me..." He tried his hardest to sound stern and straightforward, but it still came out very weak and shy.

"Well, as I said, I'm not famous, but all I remember is my dad and mom each having one child. We were separated at birth. Then, all I remember after that was the last few years." Holo said. Holo looked at the floor, quietly.

Vinyl looked over to Holo and opened both her eyes, she wondered about it, but decided it was pointless to say anything, besides, she is busy enough as it is. "So where did you go to learn about music?" She asked, realizing that she could have possibly gone to the same place as him.

 

Clover began eating and heard what he said, but didn't respond to him, she looked up with some food on her face. "So a party huh?.." She said quietly "I haven't really been to anything more than a birthday party..." She said.

"I learned it... Uhmm..." Holo said. He held his head, trying to remember. He eventually remembered something: his dad got him into the music business. "It was my father. Only family I ever met."

Vinyl's ears popped up slightly. "Your father? What's his name? What does he look like?" She asked in a very sudden and loud tone of voice. She seemed angry yet disgruntled about something, she was on to something.

Amare was about to respond when he noticed she had food on her face. "Silly, you got food all over you." he chuckled heartedly, and then got back to the initial question, "I have never reallly been to a party either..." he said in almost a deppressed tone. "Whi- which is why I wa-was hoping that you would go with me." Amare just stared at his meal, embaressed.

Clover giggled and looked in to his eyes "I know there is, and I want to go with you! Haha, you act like you don't get out much." She says as she wipes the food off of her face.

"I don't remember much about my father, but... I think he was a pegasus..." Holo said. "And I think my mom was a unicorn! I don't remember about their appearances..." Holo sat down in a nearby chair, holding his head.

Clover was right, Amare didn't get out very much at all. But he was trying his hardest to get out of that near 'anti-social' slump. When low and behold, a strnge unicorn falls into his life. Amare had known her for less than a day, but she was already making his life very interesting." So ugh, is your meal okay?" he asked her.

Rockshire stepped out of her home in Canterlot, giving a whiff of the air.

 

"I can't wait to start another day here!"

 

She trots along the streets, eventually stepping on a piece of paper. She picks up the paper and starts to read the text on it.

 

"A party.... tonight? Hmm, that sounds pretty fun. Maybe I'll drop by..." She keeps the paper with her, and continues trotting throughout Canterlot.

Clover looked at him with a blank face "No, it's horrible." She said in response, then she waited a few moments to see what he said or did, and then she smiled again and said "It's wonderful! Thank you for bringing me here." She said happily. She loved to mess with him, she thought it was good for him for some reason.

 

Vinyl looked at Holo once he went and sat down "Hey what's wrong pal? Party's starting soon, don't tell me you're gonna back out?" She said, trying to be encouraging, she wasn't the kind of pony to try and give somepony ambition, but she felt a strange obligation to.

Amare's heart skipped a beat when he heard her say it was horrible, but then she said it was wonderful. 'Sarcasm?' he wondered to himself.

 

"Well I- I'm glad you like it!" he said as they finished up their food. "Umm I think that party might be starting soon.. so do youugh... do you..."His knees were getting shaky, what was his problem? She had already agreed to go with him.

Clover noticed he was asking her again, she wanted to mess around with him, but she could just wait until the party. "C'mon, let's get to the party! Or else we'l be late" She said encouragingly. "You weren't gonna ask me out were you?" She said with a wink, she just couldn't resist.
