Wanting to race for the FIA in two years or so

Hey everypony. I know I already posted my previous thread on the Life Advice thread, but I then found it to be too irrelevant in my eyes, so I thought posting it here would be a good idea, so here it goes:

I'm thinking of joining the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile, or simply called FIA (it's also called International Automobile Federation in French), which is a motorsport club built for the toughest drivers around the world and I'm willing to join it, considering as how I have loved racing, both in the games and in real life alike, since I was only about 4. Also, I started driving when I was only 16, and then 17, and have been driving for nearly four years as of today, without getting caught in a car accident at all, though I would want a car that has a manual transmission so I would perfect my MT skills so I can put them to good use when I start racing in two or three years, or more, depending on how many years I would finish college.

Now, I know what you guys are thinking, that the race is one of the most challenging things I'm facing, though to me, I'm always up for a challenge, whether it be easy or difficult (or risky, if you count being completely crammed in by faster cars, which makes you more prone to spinning out or possibly crash), so you know, I'm a racing fanatic myself (even NASCAR is a fan too) who's wanting to rise in popularity, so I know the racers are VERY tough, but, as I mentioned before, I'm up for a challenge no matter what.

In case you don't know what FIA means, here's the link of it: http://www.fia.com

I can't tell which racing events from the FIA I'm willing to participate in, but, I'll see if I can find the right events for me in the near future. I know it's a pretty lengthy wait, but, college goes first, then the real deal, racing against drivers from around the world, along the racing tracks.

As you said, it sounds like quite a challenge you'll be facing. The climb to success will be very tough, but you just have to remember that if it's your life's aspiration, you need to put forth all of your possible effort and more. Don't be discouraged by failure, just keep at it and keep your head up.

I wish you the best of luck!

I have the same dream since I was a little kid. I do enjoy racing more than anything else, but I think my chance already passed. I am 20 now and have not raced in a single official event. Unless I somehow get a lot of money I won't be able to be a race driver in my life.

I wish you the best of luck that you can fullfill your dream :)

Thanks guys. Even though it's a long wait, mainly because of college, I'll see if my skills in both video games and in real life would fare up against the toughest racers across the world. The only thing I don't usually race is Formula 1 events, since the open wheels makes it very risky at those kinds of speeds, though I do like WTCC and GT1, since they're less dangerous than F1 itself (considering as wheel-to-wheel contact can prove deadly, especially at at 200 MPH). Hopefully, I can compete for either both FIA events and become well-known among fans and drivers alike after finishing college. :)

Ohhh....the FIA...nice dude! Somehow, this isn't surprising coming from the guy who pretty much used every track in GT5 and mixed it with ponies XD. Also, if you do get in, you might be the first brony driver (You shall put Fluttershy in the decals...YAY!)...haha, okay, serious speak now XD. I wish you good luck on whatever you decide to compete. I must ask you though, which is your favorite type of racing? Of races or types of car? After all, I thought that, you seem to like the similar to F1, but I wanted to know if you liked NASCAR, Indycar, WRC and the like.

Thanks! :D I'm not too big with NASCAR, but the only reason I love NASCAR because GT5 has it. :P As for WRC, I'm not too comfortable on navigating through dirt roads without the co-driver sooo yeah, but it's still quite good. ^^' I'm Also, I like the American Le Mans or Le Mans 24H, the GT1, which is the fastest racing group in Europe and the rest of the world, WTCC, which is a touring car championship, and then there's DTM, which is a German chapionship race, with car manufacturers such as Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz (they used to have Opel, until they took it out), so I'll see what happens next year when I put up the vote poll so you and the others can pick out which of the race events are suitable for me to race after two or three years from college. ;)

I see...how are you doing on GT5?..:Actually, answer me that (if you wish) on a PM. I think it derives from the post objective XD. Also, the WRC DOES have the co-pilots as far as I know. After all, driving in some of the places like Finland and such would be HELL to do so. Already keeping the car in check is difficult. Memorizing the track would be absolute hell. Plus, sometimes, you can't even see well with the car. it would be almost suicide to go without a co-pilot. Anyway...I see...personally, i wouldn't know WHERE exactly would I like to drive, but I think either F1 or NASCAR. Yes, it would be super dangerous, but if eveer dared, i'm sure as hell I wouldn't care XD. Do you also like the JGTC racing? (AKA The Japanese Gran Turismo Cars type of racing, which is sort of the DTW of Japan, so to speak?)

I think you mean "Grand Touring", but you got it right. ;)

Anyways, I'm not sure about JGTC. I may try and test it out, but as I said, I can only pick one event suitable for me. Who knows, I'll put up a poll after graduating college next year. :D

Well, you do what you need. We'll be waiting by then. And of course, whatever you choose, you'll rock (and if you do become the next Sebastien Loeb/Michael Schumacher/Juan Manuel Fangio (I'm Argentinian, I can't just NOT mention him XD)/Jeff Gordon/whoever else that is important and I don't know, the you'll be an awesome driver brony. And that could earn you higher cool points than RD...and if that happens, I'll be there to ask for your autograph, distances be damned XD.

Just recently, I finished helping a buddy of mine prepare a Honda Civic Si for Autocross events in the SCCA (Sports Car Club of America). As of now, I am planning on saving up some cash for a Ford Spec Racer for the SCCA. With expenses, bills, and the like, I don't know how much longer I'll have to wait until I scraped up enough cash.

Yeah. I'll even be like the next Sebastian Vettel as well, heck, even Travis Pastrana as well! Thanks for the support, and I'll be sure to make a name for myself when the fans would spot a Rainbow Dash stick onto the car and I would wow them after my win or gaining the top 3 position. :D

Nice! Once you get the money, you could add a MLP sticker to it, just to show off, don't you think? ;)

Did you see the TORC Pro-Lite truck that had the Fillygamez decal on it? I remember tuning into SPEED that day and was quite surprised to see a brony in a professional racing event. Now that I think about it, I think I heard from somewhere that Kasey Kahne is a brony, but I'm not sure whether or not to call BS on that.
