After getting the name of the pegasus he was talking to, Electrobolt nodded. "It's nice to meet you, Alex." As he looked around at the mansion, he saw it was well-kept and rather nicely decorated. *Pretty nice place,* he thought, looking around more before hearing Alex speak up, saying he was going to mingle for a while. Nodding, he responded, "Alright, Alex. I'll catch up with you later, then." He then saw Alex as he moved off to mingle, before hearing Pearl speaking up, asking if he knew a pony named The Great and Powerful Trixie, at which his eyes widened. *Did she just say The Great and Powerful Trixie???* he exclaimed in his mind, eyes still open.

While he was still a young pony, Electrobolt would always look forward to going to one of Trixie's magic shows. Even though some ponies didn't really care for her, others would watch her shows and like them. He didn't like those magic shows, though. He loved them, and would always want to go and see her shows whenever it was possible for him to go. The latest one he had seen was the last one he heard of for a while, when Trixie came to perform in Ponyville. However, when he woke up, he didn't see her around anymore, and he heard that Trixie turned tail and ran away, most likely never to be heard from again.

As he shook his head, returning to this world, he looked over to Pearl. Before he could speak, however, a loud, booming voice could be heard. "The Great and Powerful Trixie has arrived!" As soon as he heard these words get spoken, his wide eyes gazed over to the doorway, before they burst open as the very familiar pony suddenly came into view. "No way..." he finally uttered, his eyes glued to Trixie. "She's really here... It's been too long since I've seen her shows..." He then realized he was staring and shook his head, trying to regain his composure. *No, keep it together... You're at a regal Canterlot party, so keep it together...*

He then calmly walked over to Trixie, whom Alex also began to approach, as he heard him say he didn't expect Trixie to be here. *Hahah... It's like he was able to read my mind, going over to Trixie first...* he mused in his head, before nodding. "Yeah, I was surprised when I heard that you just arrived!" It has been a while, and he was really looking forward to seeing her magic acts again. He then looked around as he also saw two new ponies arrived, seemingly startled by Trixie's appearance, one of which being a white unicorn with an ice-blue mane and tail. The other pony was a maroon unicorn that had a black mane and tail, and he was donning a cape, as well. *Hmm? I didn't notice them here before... Are they party guests, too?* he pondered after having seen them.

Bones was more than surprised to hear that Pearl was interested in his work. At this point he was convinced she was truly interested in his profession, and his nervous grin turned into a genuine smile. At least until she mentioned she would be interested in being his partner, and gave him a wink which caused his smile to dispensary, and his mouth became that of pure shock, while the redness in his cheeks intensified even more.

He wasn't sure what to make of his feeling at the moment. He was both pleased to find someone interested in his work, but at the same time, she was making him feel more uncomfortable than he had ever been in his entire life. Luckily she released her foreleg from his grasp, and turned to her other guests asking them about some stage performer, 'The Great and Powerful Trixie'? Bones had never heard of her before, and was not particularly interested in any entertainment, but he assumed it would make a nice distraction so he wouldn't have to speak much with those around him during the performance.

Not long after Pearl mentioned her name, the door burst open and a rather pretty looking white Unicorn came charging into the scene. And before long after that, a loud thunderous voice echoed through the interior of the manor. "The Great and Powerful Trixie has arrived!" It was quite clear she had a high opinion of herself, with that attitude and her self proclaimed title of 'The Great and Powerful', Bones was already beginning to dislike her. Still, she gave him the perfect moment to slip away, as everyone's attention was now on her at the door. Bones quietly slipped away from Pearl and into a secluded corner where he hoped he would not be seen easily.

He did so reluctantly, because he was actually interested in talking with Pearl about everything. It was not often people took a liking to his work. However, he just couldn't handle all the attention he was getting. It was too much, and he felt far too uncomfortable, so he thought slipping into the shadows was the best way to go. Once he thought he was well hidden halfway behind a thick column supporting the floor above, and he thought no one would bother him, he silently thanked Trixie for her flawlessly timed distraction, and the redness in his face finally began to slowly dissipate.

Just clarifying, that Clarity has clearly entered the building. Clearly I clouded Clarity's entrance accidentally. :3 (Go alliteration! Wooh!)

As the horrible beast sank its fangs into Rose, every part of the flower cried out in excruciating pain. The stem was ripped to pieces, the beautiful petals were shredded between those deadly fangs, and innocent cell-vilians died in droves, victim to the hungry greed of Pearl. Rose seemed to wither, as every inch of her stem screamed for mercy - but her pleas fell on the deaf ears of one who could not speak her language.

N-no. Please... I just want to see my family again...Rose grew weaker by the second as the pony continued munching on her with a torturous slowness that only amplified the pain. My mother...my father bee...my siblings, too... How will they survive without me?

And I'll never be able to spread my seeds to the winds...and make my own family. So were Rose's last thoughts as the gaping chasm of Pearl's mouth closed around her stem, completely ripping it from its roots. And then Rose knew no more.

~~~
There was a horrendous ripping noise, and suddenly petal Leo found himself being torn away from the only family he knew, as large incisors impaled themselves through his soft body. He twisted in agony, trying desperately to rejoin with Rose, but to no avail. He was tossed straight into Pearl's mouth, and scrabbled along the edges of the monster's tongue for a handhold, managing, just barely, to hold on to the very tip as the cavernous jaws shut with a slam, casting the mouth in complete and utter darkness.
Wh-what have I done to deserve this? Ugh, I...So were Leo's thoughts as he hung at the tip of Pearl's mouth, each second that ticked by seeming like a year to him. Why did this have to happen to me? Was it because of the mean things I said to that worm? Was it because the caterpillar that tried to eat me and fell off cursed me to this fate?
There's nothing! he realized indignantly. Absolutely no reason that I should be subjected to such torture! I've done nothing wrong - I've been a good petal. All I want to do is live my life! Leo felt himself slipping, and flailed wildly to secure a new position on the tongue, which suddenly reared up like a huge sea serpent, flinging the limp petal all the way to the roof of Pearl's mouth, where he stuck, too weak and too dazed to move in the stifling darkness.
Just end it...
The tongue gave another mighty lurch, and suddenly the jaws sprang open, allowing the warm, beautiful sunlight to illuminate the cavern and bathe Leo in its glory. He smiled sadly despite his pain, as he remembered days gone by, days where he had even cursed the burning-hot sun, and wished for rain. And now? He would give anything to be back in the meadow, swaying in the breeze once more. The light played on his broken form, a gentle symbol of life and vitality to one who had so little of it left.
But his joy was short-lived. Another limp form was soon tossed into Pearl's mouth, a form so broken and tattered that Leo hardly recognized it anymore. Rose! he realized in shock, as what was left of the flower slid to the back of Pearl's throat, a hole within the cavern that seemed to promise freedom. But Leo was not fooled - that tunnel was the esophagus, and would lead nowhere but to his death. And now Leo watched, stunned by horror, as Rose, his flower, was swept towards that same deadly tunnel. 'Rose, no!" he screamed, trying desperately to wrench himself free from the roof of Pearl's mouth, the unfeeling saliva gluing him into place. "No, not my Rose!" he screamed, fury beginning to overtake him at the unfairness of it all. "NOT MY ROSE!"
Sudden strength filled his form, his mitochondria strengthening him with a new purpose. Leo gave one last lurch, and slowly but surely began to peel from the roof of Pearl's mouth. His eyes never left his beloved Rose, now so close to the esophagus. "Rose, please..." he begged, as the last bit of him detached itself from the sticky saliva-coated roof, and he began to flutter towards her. 'Hold on, Rose. I'm coming!"
He had almost made it! Rose looked up as she heard a new voice, the voice of somepetal she recognized. Wonder filled her features. "Leo...?" she asked, in a shocked voice.
"It's me, Rose!" Leo whispered as he fluttered to rest next to her. Tears of joy streamed down his features as he finally reunited with his flower. "I...I'm here to save you."
"S-save me?" Rose asked, a hint of hope in her frightened voice.
"Yes," Leo murmured affectionately. "I...I have a plan. All it needs is a bit of time, and then we can be together. Forever, Rose." He reached out. "Hold on to me, Rose."
~~~

Pearl swallowed.

~~~
A huge rumbling noise seemed to fill the entire cavern, and Rose paused, terrified. "Rose, grab on!" Leo screamed, panic filling his voice. But it was too late. Pearl's throat muscles convulsed, and Rose was thrown backwards, away from Leo, straight into the esophagus.
"ROOOOSE!" Leo closed his eyes, and let go of the tongue. Immediately he, too, was thrown back with the same amount of force, straight into the black tunnel from where there was no escape. "No!" He slid a heart-stopping inch towards the edge of the tunnel, a millimeter away from the sharp drop straight into the fiery pits of hydrochloric hell. Half of him fluttered precariously over the edge.
"Leo." The simple word, voiced weakly and yet firmly, came from below him, and Leo bent down. Rose was clutching the side of the esophagus with a determined look on her features, a look that softened as she found him "I...I couldn't leave just yet."
"L-leave?' Leo croaked weakly. "N-no, Rose! Y-you're alive! We made it! Haha!" Sudden elation filled his heart that Rose, indeed, was not dead. His smiled as he looked at her, expecting to see the same degree of triumph on her features.
"No." Rose's single word shattered Leo's jubilant facade. "I-I can't, Leo. I don't have strength to hold on."
Leo stared at Rose, unable to comprehend her words.
"I...I just didn't want to go...before I saw you one last time. That desire kept me strong, and now...I'm happy." Rose smiled sadly at Leo, who was crouching silently still as if turned to stone, his face still peering over the edge of the chasm at her. She closed her eyes.
"Rose..." Leo whispered slowly. "No, Rose..." Sudden comprehension filled his face, as he saw Rose begin to slip from the wall of the esophagus. "NO, ROSE!"
Rose's eyes fluttered open one last time. "Leo..." she whispered weakly, silencing his frantic yelling immediately. Slowly, she turned her head to meet his.
Her soft green eyes met his agonized brown own.
"Leo...I love you." And with that, Rose slipped from the esophagus lining, dropping down to her death below.
Leo watched as she fell, his mouth opened in a silent scream of protest as the love of his life disappeared from view. He was alone.
"No..." he murmured gently to the empty air around him, his voice filled with shock. "She can't be dead! She...she..." Leo broke down, tears streaming from his face in great puddles, as he choked out, "Rose made me who I am, and she's in my heart...I-I can't go on...
And then he remembered.
"All it needs is a bit of time, and then we can be together. Forever, Rose." His own words.
His own tears seemed to dry up automatically as, slowly, he blinked, finally understanding what he had to do. Slowly, he stood up.
"I'll see you in hell, pony," he hissed at Pearl. Slowly, he closed his eyes.
And he jumped.
"THIS."
"IS."
"SPARTA!"
(OOC: Scootacool is being lazy. :unsure: I need to roleplay! NOW! :angry: I hope I'm not godmodding if I say Trixie is staring at the others as if they were beneath her. )
Clarity felt her smile morph into something that resembled a grimace as she stepped back from Trixie's powerful magical aura. She looked so arrogant, so snarky, and stared at her as if she was beneath her. Indeed, even her appearance had stunned her; the beautiful stitch markings on her cape enhanced her look overall. Clarity flipped open her bag and took out a quill and notebook.
"So..." Clarity put on her welcoming smile again. "Hello, Trixie! I've heard much about you!"
@@Clarity, @@Magicon,
As she received an answer about Trixie, she heard a knock on the door. She gazed out the window and saw two ponies standing out there. Oh dear, she hadn't expected this. They weren't on the list... but it seemed her servant had botched up listing them all. After all, Pearl had sent all of the invitations after Alex Night's in a haze. It was a forgetful frenzy, but there was no harm done, really.
The silvery mare gave a wide smile to her guests, before eagerly rushing off to meet the newcomers.
She opened the door...
...And her attention was immediately consumed.
@,
In burst this blue twinkly unicorn, loudly proclaiming herself to be The Great and Powerful Trixie. It was quite obvious who she was, and Pearl found this blatant display to be rather amusing. Entertainment? Oh definitely. This mare was a loud, large, hammy presence. Quite a character. More than worth that small pittance she had paid her. She chuckled jovially and flashed her one of her winning smiles. Good show, Salsa, good show.
"Ah, Trixie! A pleasure it is to have you here... welcome. Quite an astonishing entrance... you seem to have made! Come in, come in. Klip here will lead you to the ball room. There's more than enough room for your performance there. Set up however you like. We'll be beginning in eight minutes." She motioned towards the pegasus whose dexterous wings had been holding the tray, who grinned in a rather blatantly awkward fashion at Trixie that seemed to show a hint of irritation and dislike. "This way," Klip proclaimed through clenched teeth, as she handed off her tray to another servant and began to walk off towards the aforementioned ball room.
@,
"Now, I'm sorry that you two have had to wait so long. Just... well, Trixie's rather distracting, isn't she?" She grinned widely. "But, it's nice to meet you! I'm Pearl Necklace, host of this part. And you two must be... Magicon..." she pointed towards Clarity. "And Clarity." Then she pointed in the direction of Magicon, before letting out a little giggle. "Ah, I'm just kidding. Flip that around. So anyway, you're a museum curator, I've heard? I think you'll be quite interested in talking to Bones here!" Having noticed in the corner of her eye that Bones had crawled off, she knew she couldn't allow him to remain silent in the proceedings. She shuffled over to him and dragged him slowly into the open. "He plays around in the dirt. Digs up things. Did you know he went to the Frozen North? Maybe your museum has some of his discoveries! I'm sure you two will get along marvelously!"
"And you! The lady Clarity... yes," Having no shortage of odd procedures of party etiquette, she took Clarity's hoof in her own and bent down to kiss it. Stallions didn't have to be the only one who could be chivalrous. "I always admire a creator of the fine arts! I can't do much in that stuff myself, I'm afraid,"
“So you’re the one who invited me and it appears these other ponies,” Magicon remarked as he extended a hoof towards Pearl with a smile, completely thankful to be getting away from Trixie. “I do apologize if I’m late, but I do hope I haven’t missed too much.” Noticing her gesture towards this “Bones” pony, Magicon thanked Pearl and approached him. He was taller than Magicon, but had a slender form and polished mane, and given Pearl’s description of him, Magicon could easily assume how dirty it quickly became on his expeditions.
“So…our hostess says you play around in the dirt?” Magicon asked, immediately wishing he could facehoof himself right there. ‘What a terrible question to ask? What are you, Magicon? You’re better than this.’
“Oh, I’m sorry, let me rephrase,” Magicon apologized as he quickly attempted to backtrack and hide his embarrassment. “So, our hostess says you’ve been to the Frozen North. Well, that’s quite a feat. How did you manage that?”
‘There, much better, Magicon,’ he thought to himself, satisfied, awaiting Bones reply.
