bronys are like the anceint greeks

 

the greeks had a large panthion of gods, but the people usually worshiped just one of them, bronys are similar in that each brony has his favorite pony, some to the extent that some have a little shrine dedicated to said pony, now im not saying bronies worship ponies, they just hold their favorite pony in high regards

 

if i ever come up with another analogy ill post it

Hehehe. The show also has many mythological creatures (grpyhons, manticors, pegasi, etc.)

 

Even a Hydra, which is featured in Greek mythology. I forget the story... Hercules, perhaps?

Twilight = Athena

Applejack = Demeter

Fluttershy = Artemis

Rarity = Aphrodite

I expanded on my previous post

 

Twilight Sparkle = Athena

Athena was the goddess of wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, just warfare, mathematics, strength, strategy, the arts, crafts, and skill. I'd say most of those fit Twilight just right, especially wisdom, mathematics, and strategy. The rest are just bonus abilities.

 

Applejack = Demeter

Demeter was the goddess of the harvest, who presided over grains, the fertility of the earth, and the seasons. Farming pony = goddess responsible for farming. Pretty accurate right? Right.

 

Pinkie Pie = Hebe

Hebe was the goddess of eternal youth. Since I pretty much had to stick to goddesses, Pinkie would be her. Otherwise she is sooooo totally Dionysus, the god of partying basically. But since "youth" can be portrayed as energy, exuberance, this is the best goddess pick for Pinkie.

 

Rainbow Dash = Iris

Iris was goddess of the rainbow. Enough said. Nah, check out more info. "Iris is the Messenger Goddess.daughter of the Titan Thaumas and Electra. Although she was a sister of the winged monsters, the Harpies, Iris was represented as a beautiful maiden, with wings and robes of bright colors and a halo of light on her head, trailing across the sky with the rainbow she traveled on in her wake. Rarity = Aphrodite

Aprhodite was considered the most beautiful goddess of them all, well I would hope so seeing she is the goddess of love and beauty. Although Rarity is more generous than her goddess counterpart, the exterior beauty will have to be their common link.

 

Fluttershy = Artemis

While Fluttershy loves tending to animals, Artemis was goddess of the hunt. Yet she's also considered the goddess of wild animals. *shrug* Here's what Wikipedia has to say "She was the Hellenic goddess of the hunt, wild animals, wilderness, childbirth, virginity and young girls, bringing and relieving disease in women; she often was depicted as a huntress carrying a bow and arrows."
