The changelings and love potion.

So I was just wondering since Chrysalis and her changelings feed on love, Why dont the use the love potion the CMC used before?

 

They could just drug a pony with it, steal thier love and dissapear (presumably negating the potions effects after an hour on whoever it was used on)

I would figure that they are simply not aware of its existence. A second possible reason would be that "fake love" generated through magic provides limited or poisoned nutritional value. It is entirely possible that feeding off a pair of ponies that had the love poison could kill the changeling.

serious time: I think their natural transformation and brainwashing abilities are sufficient to gather all the love they need. also, the love poison works both ways, which would prove counterproductive for a changeling trying to eat all the love because they'd just end up giving it all back.

maybe they were not aware of the potions existence they don't come from equestria and likely dont know much about it it also could be that they have to feed on true love and the potion would be more artificial and might not be as nutritious.

it could have been a good back up plan if shineing armor ever found out but i dont think they would have needed it because they can feed off of other emotions (love is just more nutritious and makes them more powerful)

Perhaps the love potion works akin to the Harry potter love potions and doesn't create actual love, just strong obsession. Or the changeling's just can't live off of it
