Is bronydom still going strong?

Cantankerous

Recommended Posts

As someone who came into the fandom late (just a few weeks ago) I find myself in the dark on the matter of the fandom's current strength. Being that the internet creates a skewed perception of time the number of fan works and commentaries available are not necessarily instructive on the matter. Its an important question as bronydom has been a culturally positive force, albeit to an unknown extent and it has the ability to continue being a positive force if its duration so allows. Is the fandom still strong or has the decline begun?

All answers appreciated, thanks

The fandom is still going strong, very strong. Global sites like Equestria Daily continue to spill out things every day, and fanon content is as in abundance as it ever was. The originality and enthusiasm of parts of the fanbase have slipped a bit, due to this long gap between Seasons' two and three, but once November hits and Season 3 comes on, you can bet everything is going to explode with more activity than ever.

I'd say yes, considering the influx of new users this site continues to gain, yourself included.

Expect more once the season three bomb hits.

C. Discord has pretty much covered the answer. Off season time is obviously going to be least active time.

Events are still occurring, fanfics are still being sent out frequently, and new people are joining the fandom every day.

While this fandom is still an influential community, we don't have that much of an effect to the outside anymore when compared to Season 2 Posted Image

We still have quite a lot of newcomers everyday, but there are less and less of them, and some of the older bronies decided to watch something else while waiting for the third season. If things continue like this, expect some stagnation.

But then 3rd season hit the screen, all hell broke loose

I really don't see it slowing down anytime soon. It slumped a bit in the off season, but that was expected. Season three is right around the corner, and its' arrival can only mean a surge of new activity.

This thread appears to be related to the My Little Pony franchise and/or the Bronydom in general. Thus, it has been sentenced to Sugarcube Corner.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.

It's going extremely strong, and it's about to get stronger with the new season coming about. Equestria Daily still throws out information, and we recently had a media boom.

But seriously, I wasn't expecting this big of an off-season for FIM. That, coupled with the already big wait we've had to experience since as early as May, the anticipation can really kill. I mean, in my some years as a professional sports fan (thus having to wait for a routine 6-7 months for the new season to begin), it wasn't so hard for me when I first looked at the long wait for season three. But now that I have the NFL to lean back into (it started in September), the wait for season three just became more excruciating because this wait has to be the most lengthy in all my years of being a fan of anything.

Geez... if I wasn't a part of MLP Forums, I might have given up on being a brony a long time ago. That, or kept on spamming the hell out of anti-bronies on Youtube.

By the way, I'm just mucking around with you, ~CD~. :P

I'm not saying I'm losing interest in the show, but I've noticed I've been watching it way less. Either it's because I got into Doctor Who recently or I'm depressed or something... or even both.

I still think Bronies will continue to exist, probably even after the show... *gulp*.... goes off air. Who am I kidding, it's never going off air :D

...right? RIGHT???
