visual art Sketch of an Angel

Its a sketch that I did sometime ago and dolled up with colors in photoshop. It isn't perfect I know. I didn't even know how to use layers when I did this. But I still really like this piece and kind of want to show it off anyway. Feel free to comment and critique. But remeber this isn't a finished work that I spent hours on or anything it isn't meant to be technically impressive. Just a simple pleasing sketch. First time posting something non vector on here. the ponies are so easy to draw in vector i'm kinda afraid to draw them traditionally.

Amazing! Really cool. I didn't know you were thay good. I know this is just a sketch but maybe you could have done the eyes better. Anyways, great job :)

The form is impressive and to be honest as it stands, it's execution is near flawless. Plus, I'd actually like to see more ponies in traditional media, if anything.

I suppose an artist is always his own worst critic. I see so many flaws. inconsistancies in the photoshop work, The way the hair is drawn... especially the darker parts. But I like it. I don't know why I just find it pleasing to look at.

Thanks, I may have to post some traditional pony art when I get the chance to create it. I'll let you know when that happens if you'd like.

yeah the eyes are kinda sloppy. I'm not really very good. I'm miles behind people who've been drawing for years longer than I have. I didn't know I even liked drawing until I had this amazing art teacher my Senior year of highschool. All I can do to catch up is draw everyday nonstop, Its the only way i'll be able to compete in a professional market with as late a start as I got.

Self-Criticism might very well be one of the most important things on developing a style, just gotta make sure it doesn't overshadow the positive. Yes, I would very well like to see your take on them with a traditional style when their ready.

Alright it is up. You can find a traditionally rendered version of apple jack at http://mlpforums.com/topic/35635-01s-traditional-art/#entry840479 I hope you like it. I've never really done this kind of cartoon illustration before.
