Crystal Ponies? What else?

So we know that crystal ponies are on the horizon, but what's next? What from gen1 would you find acceptable or exciting to introduce to FIM?

I would personally like to see the return of those elementals... but that's just my personal opinion. There are lots of things from S1 (and maybe even S2) that they can use. But NOTHING from S3. That generation was poisonous.

Gen 1 had a particular feature I would like to see in the future. I'm afraid it may not be executed well, because it's hard to make it good-looking and deep, but, hey, hear me out, they should add "Shoo-be-doo, shoo-shoo-be-doo!".

I know lots are against the sea ponies BUT I really feel this show could do it so well and give them a good name. I adored them as a child. Who knew MLP in general could be as good and as popular with so many different people as it is? I say go for it.

I totally agree about the sea ponies. But, I think they should actually go with a design that's more Kelpie-like, not those giant heads on those teeny seahorse bodies. And flutter ponies! I adoreed them so so much <3

 

Then again, they may not go with an original design that lauren faust isnt actually able to oversee. Even though they did throw a Flutter pony ref when Rarity had those wings.

The sea ponies (while making them look more like the Hippocampus of greek mythology than those...useless and ridiculous looking things from G1, basically sea ponies with forhooves).

 

And several G1 villains like Tirek, Katrina, Grogar and the concept of the unstopable destructive substance that is the Smooze. Re-tooling this characters and ideas for G4 would bring for some very interesting stories and situations.

I'm gonna come in and be the biased, never-really-watched-much-of-the-previous-generations person I am and say, I have little interest in Hasbro rehashing anything major from the past generations. They've created a fantastic mythology around this show and given it a unique and fresh feel, and in my opinion, continuing to come up with more unique content is what they should do, not look back at G1 through 3 and see what they can pull from it. I found the Smooze to be an interesting concept, as well as some of the things from G1, but again, taking some pony names and designs from the previous generations like they did with some of the Mane Six is as far as it should go, IMO.
