Darth Fader 24 February 9, 2013 Share February 9, 2013 Yes another vote for Ableton here. I haven't used it myself but have heard many great things about it. Combine this with an Akai APC and you should be good to go. "Exit signs - they're on the way out aren't they?" "Velcro. What a rip-off!" "I went into an Italian restaurant and ordered dessert and they gave me tiramisu and a blindfolded horse and I said, 'No, I said mascarpone'." CharmingKnight 24 February 9, 2013 Share February 9, 2013 (edited) Interesting info about FL and Cubase guys! As cool as it is, what if I were completely new to production, and needed something I don't have to spend much money on in case I decide the hobby's not what it's cracked up to be? Also are there forums where I can post uncompleted tracks when I'm stuck on how to continue or polish them? 'cos I used to play with a sequencer available as WiiWare, and have quite a few songs on it which are cool, but are only about 1 min 46 secs long 'cos of running out of ideas. PS Has anyone worked out how to use Audiotool? I can use the time line to sequence samples, but I wouldn't know where to start to make my own on it. Hey Copper, I just bought a program called Stagelight last night for $9.99, and I'm glad I decided to do that than by another program first, because I realized that I simply don't have the talent required for music production. (Brohoof to all the awesome brony music producers!) If you just search for "Stagelight" you'll be able to find it. The demo is pretty good, but you can't save anything and the only reason I've spent the $9.99 is because I had created a simple drum and bass rythm, got excited and then sat in frustration for 3 hours as I couldn't effectively make anything else due to my lack of talent! There isn't any one video tutorial that can teach you how to make dubstep. Or, I just haven't found it yet. Everything I know how to do I learned either from experimentation, or from trying to imitate something someone else did in a song. Just keep trying, you'll get the hang of it eventually.
