"I-I've never felt this happy before. Thank you Flame Dancer, I'm glad I met you." Cherry Blossom leaned closer as well and kissed back. She blushed and moved in closer to huddle with Flame. The wind seemed to be getting a bit colder and Cherry Blossom wanted to feel much more of his body heat. He's already unlocked the key to my heart and I love him she thought.

Star Keeper burst outside in a hurry. He needed some fresh air to think. If he had read the signs right, and he always did, two mares were becoming attracted to him. Star had studied pony behaviour for a year in-between history and classical studies,he knew every subtle twitch to the slightest sigh. It was a curse really.

 

He wasn't very good at hiding his own emotions, but he read ponies like billboards. It was a bit rude of him to get up and leave,but he needed to think. He had only ever fallen in love with one mare before, which failed, and he didn't want another tragedy on his hooves. He had to subtly say he wasn't interested, but how?

Sky just watched as they brought her back in. He was about to ask if they needed any help but it seemed that they had everything under control. Sky then noticed how Harp was acting towards Star. It made him laugh for a split second . As Star ran out of the room, Sky sighed and looked up at Cloud Puff. "Maybe you should see what is up with him." Sky sighed again as a small frown began to form on his lips.

"... Oka- Sky, what's wrong? Is somepony bothering you?" Cloud observed. There was obviously something bothering him, because he frowned once he said Star's name. He had also frowned a bit when she had come in and looked directly at Star, and she guessed that he was probably frowning whenever he saw her and Star together. *wait a sec... Could Star?.... No... But maybe?...*

"He he, no. Nothings wrong. Nothing at all. Um, everything's fine."

 

'Oh, Star, you forgot something.' His mind began to speak up.

 

'What?'

 

'You are terrible at lying. Even somepony with half you experience could easily tell you're nervous. Just act normally and change the topic of conversation. Ask about her profession, maybe?'

 

'Good idea. Thanks brain.'

 

Star turned back to face Cloud, desperately trying to think of something to say. "Sorry, um, that was quite rude of me. Did you want anything? Drinks, food, etc?"

"Umm..." Cloud muttered as he took a second to just sit there like some crazy dork. "Actually, yeah, could I please has some water?" *water. He asked you if you wanted something, and you said WATER. (Inward facehoof) jeez, Cloud, you could've gotten water yourself...*

"You sure? Um,okay then." Star was off like a rocket, eager to get a small retreat from the drama going on out there. He rushed into the kitchen, slamming the door behind him and taking a deep breath. He could do this, he just needed, um, needed... stuff this, he was hopeless. He just prayed to whatever god was listening that Harp did not wake up and add to his ever stacking issues. What was I out here for? Water, that's right. He quickly grabbed a mug and poured some water, rushing it back out to Cloud,trying to put on his best poker face. He failed, again. He was no good at poker.

Cloud saw his horribly sad fail at a poker face as Sky rushed out of the kitchen with a mug of water. "Thanks, Sky." *thanks. I guess that works.*" Cloud gave Sky a reassuring look, and trotted towards the door to see what was up with Star, but not before looking over at Harp, who looked like she had fallen asleep. *Good. That will keep distractions to a minimum* Cloud smirked at the thought.

Star Keeper was a bit stunned that she didn't just leave him on the spot,the awkward way he seemed to interact. He was grateful yet confused at the same time. "Sorry, um... I just, never mind. Do you have a job." Maybe small talk wasn't his thing either.

"Um... Kind of. You see, I do work for the weather team, but I occasionally go to Cloudsdale to see if there's anything with the weather that needs to be done. What about you?" Cloud mumbled, a little afraid she sounded like a lazy bum.

"Oh,um I, well... I work for the town office in Ponyville just as a record keeper.Boring, I know,but my true area of expertise is in history and lore. I studied most of my life under, well, a very good teacher let's say." He gave a brief smile at the memory, then returned to the present day.

 

"But that was a long time ago. Two years to the day. Were exactly did you grow up, if you don't mind me asking?"

Se wanted to sound smart, but she was afraid that wasn't working... " I started on the weather team when I was.... Oh, i think I might've been about AppleBloom aged. I got my cutiemark the first time I made it rain." What about you?

"Heh, it's a less thrilling tale. I was born in Canterlot. I was adopted out to a nice couple, raised well,good grades. Soon I was accepted into the school for gifted Pegasi. It was fun for a while. Then I was taken in by a tutor who watched over my studies and always made sure I did my best. She gave me a nice home and companionship. Those were some good years. The things happen. I was banned from the Royal Archives after a small incident and denounced by my tutor. I let her down that day. Anyway,moved to Ponyville, got a job, new life, and now I'm not on bad terms with Celest- I mean my tutor now." He realised he light have gotten carried away, but there were few ponies around who wanted to hear his story. It was a relief.

Cloud thought for a second before replying. Gifted Pegasi? Celest...ia? It hit her- Star was tutored by Celestia, like Twilight Sparkle. "Wow.." She whispered, barely discernible. "So..um...," Cloud wasn't sure how exactly to go about saying this, " You were Celestia's student? That's really neat..." *neat? NEAT? Out of all the words you could've said, you chose NEAT? Good god Cloud...*

"Heh, it was for awhile. She used to say she had a plan for us both, I guess it just didn't work out for me. Oh well, I'm happy where I am and that seems to be all that matters." He gave a smile to Cloud who hard managed to bear through his life story basically. When he thought about it too hard he even bored himself.

Cloud could see she might think it was all boring, but it really wasn't. It was an honor to work with Celestia. " Um... I know this is kind of an odd way to change the topic, but...Do you want to.. Uh... Go for a walk or something? I feel kinda like somepony is eavesdropping or watching us..." Cloid suggested. It was true, she did feel like that, but she also just wanted to be alone with him, and it was getting pretty warm in the house.

"Ah... yes, yes. Sure, I'd love to go for a walk, or something. Sounds fun." Star Keeper looked backup to Cloud, caught in her gaze. "So, um... did you want to go anywhere or did you just want to, you know, walk?" Seriously, you should be taking speech therapy for your case of utter stupidity. This wasn't helpful thinking but it didn't seem to bother him.

"I-I had no particular place in mind... We could just, uh, walk..." Cloud stuttered as Star met her gaze. She was completely mesmerized and lost. She practically forgot everything that had happened that night, other than him opening the door for her and Sky looking upset.. About something...

Sky smiled. "At least there happy." He mumbled before walking outside and teleporting onto the roof. There was light breeze in the air, which was Sky's favorite weather. "Remember, In life it doesn't matter how you feel. Just as long as your friends are happy." Sky thought trying to comfort himself. "Well at least I made two couples tonight." Sky thought as he laided his head back and looked up towards the moon.

"You know what, gimme a sec, I'll be right back, then we can go, ok?" Cloud told Star as she saw Sky go outside all lonley-like out if the corner of her eye. "I've gotta go to something..."

 

Cloud left the house discreetly through the back, then flew around to the front and landed next to Sky. "Are you all right, Sky? It really looks like something's bothering you..."

Sky was surprised when Cloud landed next to him. "Isn't she suppose to be on a walk?" He thought to himself. "Nothings bothering me. I'm fine." Sky lied with a fake smile. "Shouldn't you be with Star right now?" Sky asked her. "He's a really cool guy once you get really close to him." Sky said, still with the fake smile on his face.

Cloud thought for a second. He was obviously depressed or upset about something. If he didn't want to tell her, fine. She'll just fake him into telling. "Yeah.... But he can wait. You know, you're a cool guy..." Cloud hoped this wasn't kicking up too many notches, she was just kinda OCD about ponies not telling her why they were upset.

Sky laughed at Cloud's comment. "I just try to be a good friend." He replied. "Anyway don't you think it would be cruel to make him wait. I think he likes you." Sky said with another forced smile. "And by the looks of it you like him too. There is no point of you wasting your time up here with me. I just came out here to get some fresh air." He lied once again.

Well, Star knew a rejection when he saw one. Cloud was obviously a lot more interested in seeing Sky. He didn't blame her, he was after all just a boring history buff. Maybe he should just go home. Practically one of the few ponies still present was lying barley concious on the coach. What a brilliant situation to be caught in.

 

Star Keeper trotted out the front door and was preparing to set of home. Hopefully Dash hadn't crashed into it again. Despite this he couldn't quite bring himself to leave just yet,something staling his take off. So he just sat there,on the doorstep, looking up to the stars. How funny.
