Strong couldnt help but laugh at what Melody had said. It was then that he had gotten curious, He knew his pipbuck had an EFS system on it, and usually it would show anything that was aggressive as a red dot, he turned on his EFS and looked at the stones that littered the ground, "Dont worry Melody, stones dont come up as aggressive on my EFS" he chuckled, he then stopped, his face taking a look of seriousness, he couldve sworn he had seen a split second flash of red, but it wasnt there anymore, Must've been my imagination, he thought.

"Still, we should be careful at all times. In a strange, irradiated place like this, who knows what is out here. As the old saying goes, better safe than sorry."

"Hey, does Sigh show up as aggressive on that thing?" Lunar joked to the group. He was in an oddly happy mood, and he didn't know why. Lunar chuckled, and fell to the ground. He looked at the rock he had tripped over. "I guess they will attack us..."

Melody laughed, despite all the horrors of the past two or three hours. Not something she expected, considering the death she saw today.

Strong Hooves had forgotten about the flash of red that he had seen, and joined in with the laughing at Melody's joke, "Hey Melody, I didnt know you had a sense of humor!" he joked as well.

Strong Hooves nodded in agreement with Autumn, "You're right Autumn, every obstacle that we can overcome out in this wasteland, the stronger it will make us, both individually and as a team", Strong froze again, seeing the flash of red again, "Ok... now I'm getting worried" he said aloud...

The sniper pony in the center was leading the largest pony with his scope and pulled the trigger when Strong Hooves suddenly stopped. "Damn! He stopped moving!" he cursed as the bullet flew right in front of Strong Hooves and started working at the bolt action.

 

Melody jumped as the bullet whizzed by her and landed in the ground near by. "Everypony, find cover!" she yelled as she ran for a tree.

The sniper pony finished fiddling with the bolt and took aim again. "Quick! Get the one heading for cover before she's out of sight!"

 

He pulled the trigger again, this time the bullet finding it's mark in melody's leg, throwing her to the ground as she skid behind the tree, screaming in pain.

"MELODY!!" yelled Strong Hooves as he saw her get hurt, he quickly ran to the tree where she hid, using his armored body as cover for the unicorn as he yelled out, "Hey!! Someone get over here and help Melody!! She's hurt!"

"On it!" Autumn quickly ran over, casting a weak shield spell on himself. It shattered after one hit, but it managed to deflect the bullet enough that it only grazed his side. He knelt by Melody and started rummaging though the first aid supplies.

(btw, I'm having trouble staying awake, if I suddenly just stop posting, it means ive fallen asleep. As last time, for the sake of moving the story line, you have my permission to control Strong Hooves)

The sniper pony went at the bolt action again and started swearing the foulest of oaths in his dictionary. "Fucking bolt keeps getting stuck!" He finally got the bolt open and the casing out and took aim again. The shot kicked up dirt at Strong Hoove's hooves and the sniper proceeded to take more shots, each one about five seconds apart. The second pony had a lower caliber hunting rifle with scope out and was taking more rapid shots at the group, but most of them were going wild from this distance.

 

Melody lay in the dirt at the base of the tree whimpering in pain, eyes squeezed shut and flinching at every shot that rang across the land.

 

((Off to bed folks, it's 12:40 and I promised myself I can't stay up much later than this so as not to fuck up my sleep schedule for school so as not to fuck up my grades so as not to piss off my parents so as not to lose my internet. So yea, night all.))

"Damn. I wish I was actually good at a spell or two." he said raising his shield again. "I'm useless." He finished dressing Melody's wound. "Do we have any painkillers left?"

Sigh had taken cover, and now crept as close as he dared to where Autumn was tending to Melody, careful to stay low to the ground. He hissed quietly to Autumn.

 

"Hey, is that a shield spell you just used? How long can you maintain it?"

"Not long, and it isn't very strong. I know how to use every spell I've read about, but I'm only good at Telekinesis."

(*Cough* - Grenade lands short, probably didn't say this right out in the obvious (make sure to next time), but snipers dont fire within throwing distance. I'd say about 100 yards. Can Strong Hooves throw 100 yards? Wanna take back that grenade or make it cannon? lol.)

Gizmo had ran off in a direction plenty earlier to be able to do things in situations just like this. Currently, he was behind the snipers a few meters away. He silently trod up to them and pulled out three different guns, each with a clip of bullets. He put a gun to the back of each of their heads. "Move and you're dead. Let your grip go of the gun and binocular or you're dead. Try anything funny and you're dead."

Sigh looked contemplative. "The farther away the target is, the more energy and concentration it takes for me to use fire, and we don't have any weapons that are accurate enough at that range. But if we can distract them by just firing randomly in their direction, we could keep their heads down, and one of us could start getting closer." he looked at the group. "I would think that'd be me, but are any of you especially good at sneaking and hiding?"

 

Sigh suddenly looked confused. "Hey, where's the electro pony? Did anypony see where he went?"

The three raiders froze and stop firing. "So what is it you expect us to do then?" asked the sniper in the center.

"Die." Gizmo pulled the triggers and took them out before they could debate or argue in any type of fashion. He put away his own guns before taking up the two of theirs and their binoculars to also hold. He took the food, water, and ammo and put them in their respective pockets on his person. He found bottle caps, plenty of them and took them, deciding that they might make good weapons if charged correctly. He began to walk down the hill, checking the sniper for damage.
