Galaxia 18 November 26, 2012 Share November 26, 2012 Hey. Rule34 is a thing, it's a great thing* but there's one thing I don't understand about specifically pony pronz I just don't understand why peopl can be attracted to it. I mean, I don't care that it exists, it's drawings so its not hurting anyone, and the human things can be hot, but how could anyone be attracted to the physical form of the ponies in this show? Their bodies, to start are super basic. It's not detailed in the slightest. Secondly, even if it was detailed, they're not even humanoid. They walk on all fours. As far as I'm concerned it's like being attracted to cartoon dogs. I guess it could be an emotional thing? So you dig their psyche or something, but then just watch the human stuff. Thoughts? Otter 1,942 November 26, 2012 Share November 26, 2012 Not quite sure why I find ponies attractive; I just do. It probably has something to do with emotional attachment to the show, i.e., I got so obsessed with the show that I began to find the characters attractive in a more... uh, sexual way. OK, I don't wanna talk about this anymore, bye. how even is otter and how can it be if

I personally don't like it myself, and I've been watching this show for over a year.
One 498 November 26, 2012 Share November 26, 2012 I feel that title was a little misleading... Anyways... (Oh yes, I'm doing the anyways thing again.) Anyways... I'm pretty sure people don't look at a pony in a show and say "wow that ponys sexy!" And start masturbating to it. It's more of an attraction to the ponys character, how the pony thinks, feels, reacts, other than looks. Tl;dr Mind>Body 2 This is a signature. Otter 1,942 November 26, 2012 Share November 26, 2012 (edited) But then why not just the human stuff? You mean all the anthro fan art? I don't care for it mostly because a good majority of the "artists" are awful and their renditions of the humanized characters look like the elephant man. Also, I don't really like the idea of humanized ponies. I prefer ponies to stick to their native species. Galaxia 18 November 26, 2012 Author Share November 26, 2012 I guess they're sentient, so that means something. But it still seems like bestiality or something. I mean, a pony is still a pony, even if it's a talking marshmallow.

Anthro their skin color is their mane color, they still have horn/wings, etc. Humanized they have human skin tones, and don't have things like horns. Correct me if I'm wrong though, I don't look this stuff up... It's kinda creepy... This is a signature.

Starshine 16,333 November 26, 2012 Share November 26, 2012 Why some thinks that ponies are attractive? I believe this image can explains it far better than I could Simply put, ponies have some of the distinct feature of an attractive female (wide eyes, child-like faces, smooth skin, perfectly symmetric, and long hair)

Champion RD92 8,658 November 26, 2012 Share November 26, 2012 (edited) I think people are attracted mainly to the character's personality because they are attracted to girls with that personality, and once they are attracted to the character, they begin to take that attraction further and begin to find the character physically attractive as well. That would be my best guess. Edited November 26, 2012 by RainbowDash92
Winterbass 763 November 26, 2012 Share November 26, 2012 I'm typing on my phone right now so I can't give a big detailed explanation right now, I'll come back to that when I'm at my pc. So, pony porn? Why do people like it? It has always baffled me that people do and I never quite understood it. Until I started to talk with people who did. So, is it the personality? Yes and no. The personality is where it starts, you find a character which personality is one that attracts you, simple example: everyone has a favorite pony. You will be able to symphatise with that character(s). This will cause you to feel a connection between you and that character, some type of bond. Now, whenever you think of that personality or whener someone behaves in a way that's similar to how that character acts, you will think of that one character. Simple example: It needs to be about 20% cooler. Betcha you thought about RD didn't you? Now by having this mental bond with your character, attraction to the physical can come to exist. You are feeling attracted to how your character looks. And from that you can develop that attraction to a sexual thing, to a fetish. There're also other factors, the ponies are brightly coloured, they consit of smooth lines, have a generally attractive personality, act in a way you consider cute and have symmetrical faces. All of which contribute to the fact wether you are feeling attracted to someone, or something. That's bout it I guess, I'll come back to it later and write a better explanation. I think there's a certain extent to that though, I mean, at the point that it's basically a jellybean attached to four rectangles it stops to lose any sense of sexualisation. Also, in your case wouldn't the mental bonds carry over to anthro and humanized art? So, this may end one question but raises others Why do these mental bond I keep hearing not carry over to other art with the same stylization minus the jellybean + four rectangles of a body. Revising this last part, I noticed they said "why some people like it" which makes a lot of sense. Edited November 26, 2012 by Galaxy
Silver Bells 78 November 26, 2012 Share November 26, 2012 it's probably because ponies have some human-like traits that can be considered attractive, i guess. big eyes, long hair...which is usually what makes a human female attractive to people. naivarr.tumblr.com

I've heard a theory that we are naturally attracted to the most human parts of the ponies--not just their humanlike intelligence and personalities, but their expressive faces and more...well, flattering features than the average horse. I think this is the root of the issue. I mean, I found Rainbow Dash attractive before I even knew about her personality, or the show for that matter. This also explains why G4 has a big "34" fandom and the previous generations, who were modeled more closely on real horses, don't. It also makes the "a pony is a pony" argument look rather silly. The freedom of a cartoon + unlimited human perception means that if it's not a living breathing equine, it's only as much of a pony as we say it is. For example, Twilight Sparkle is animal enough to be not human, but human enough that you would "take her out on the town, treat her real respectable" [itStartsAtDusk]. 1 "Human beings fascinate me Being just the way they are..."
