[Flying Ace 142]

The midst of battle confused Star Flare, she couldn't see anything and all she could hear was a ringing. Star kicked a guard behind her, ducked under a blade and shot a blast of fire into a dozen soldiers  Star Flare turned towards Ace as he said "Princess, got any ideas on how to get back to Canterlot?" as Skye being handed off to somepony, Star was weighing her options. "I'm...I'm not sure,  maybe we could stop in Cloudsdale, if it's not fallen to Silmor's rule, that is." Star Offered. 

 

Star didn't really know what to do, she'd never left the castle, except with her mother. She couldn't think straight, the fighting didn't help, it had to stop. Star reared up and used her most powerful spell. From her horn, dozens of fire whips spread all over the field where they fought and badly burned every guard's body, not lethal flame, but they'd be bed ridden for a few...years. "Finally....it's over." Star said sinking to her knees. "Now I can think..."

Ace was surprised one minet he was fending off a guard and then hes on the ground with his his hair on fire, ace looked behind hi to see it was Star Flare. "You can contorle fire! That is awasome!" Ace got exited at teh fact that this is rare magic. but then it went to worry as he looked around." Is everypony ok?"

Aura was fending off for herself with a few guards when a sudden fire blast came her way. "Whoa!!" Aura gasped aborting the skirmish with the guards she was with and took cover from the fire blast. Afterwards she poked her head out and looked to Star Flare who had performed the spell. "Wow that was some technique." Aura thought to herself. "I wonder where pony managed to learn that spell from." she added. Ace asked if everypony was OK. "Yes im fine i think." Aura said looking at her bruised wing again. She then turned her attention to Loro. "Are you ok?" Aura asked him.

Rift finally arrived at the palace gates. Two guards stood their ground as he approached. "Halt!" they yelled. Rift barely gave them a glance as he leaped over their heads, pushed off the wall and over the gate "Sorry I dont have time for that!" He called over his shoulder. Inside the courtyard was a mess. Void Beasts were running rampant, devouring everything: Animal, Plant, or Mineral. His claws sparkled with a deep purple gleam. He ran up to the nearest beast, a smallish beast, but still twice Rifts size. With a yell Rift plunged the claws into the beast's back leg. The corresponding rift in space seemed to recognize that it was in contact with an inter-dimensional creature and the beast was sucked into the rift to be deposited back in the Void.

Aura was fending off for herself with a few guards when a sudden fire blast came her way. "Whoa!!" Aura gasped aborting the skirmish with the guards she was with and took cover from the fire blast. Afterwards she poked her head out and looked to Star Flare who had performed the spell. "Wow that was some technique." Aura thought to herself. "I wonder where pony managed to learn that spell from." she added. Ace asked if everypony was OK. "Yes im fine i think." Aura said looking at her bruised wing again. She then turned her attention to Loro. "Are you ok?" Aura asked him.

But Loro was nowhere to be seen; he had fallen into the storm drain during battle, where he now lay bruised and beaten. The debris of the fight had blocked the hole that he had fallen down, plunging the tunnel into total darkness. A luminous green eye opened, and took in the surroundings.

 

Loro slid off into the water, and paddled over to the blocked passage, attempting to push his way out. It was no use; the hole was completely blocked. He would have to find an alternative way out, and quickly, before he was left behind! The little dragon frantically paddled along the tunnel, searching for an exit. As strange as it might sound, Loro actually felt sort of at home down here. More at home at least, than the crazy, open world just above his head. The quiet and darkness helped to relieve some stress, and his wounds were quickly numbed by the ice cold water.

 

Unfortunately, Loro wasn't the only thing hiding in the storm drains.

Ace was surprised one minet he was fending off a guard and then hes on the ground with his his hair on fire, ace looked behind hi to see it was Star Flare. "You can contorle fire! That is awasome!" Although, Star noticed a few ponies were missing, that 'Rift' colt, and the smallest dragon, the remaining dragon, Aura, seemed to be looking for the small one. Star looked over to Skye the only other mare present, she still had an endearing look on her face, a look of caring and concern for her well being; it might have been because Star was only a filly. Skye would make a good mother someday, Star hoped in her mind that she'd find a way to save her mother. "We need to move...away from the...crystal...emp...empire-" Star stumbled "Need to find...somewhere...safe...to rest" Star muttered as she fell onto Ace's side.

Ace scooped her onto his back with a chuckle. "Yes, I agree with you 100 percent princess we need to rest espacily you." Ace grinned as he looked towards Skye and the colt next to her. "So Skye whos this? And what was that thing that you used?!" Ace asked with exitment.

Swish sheathed his sword and looked all around him. It was calm, or at least as calm as it could ever get on a battlefield. He walked over to the unicorn that had just pulled off the fire magic.

"I don't think I ever got your name." Swish pointed out. "You're right, we should leave. There are probably going to be reinforcements on the way now, so I don't mean to rush, but we need to leave." Swish grew slightly more serious, "We need to leave now. Any ideas?"

SkyeRibbon smiled and nuzzled Jet. He flipped the yellow cord and his rocket reverted back into a.small jetpack.

"Im Quickjet, Skye's fiancee . And this baby is my own invention. A jet pack that transverts into a blaster." He chuckled.

"It helped me meet my lovely pegasus...and even helped me--an earth pony of all things-- teach her to fly."He puffed out his chest.

Skye laughed and rubbed her head against his strong neck. Not really looking at anypony in particular, she asked if.anyone needed any medical attention. She looked for the princess, wanting to change her bandage.

Rift had finished off the beasts in the courtyard. He could still feel that there were void beasts above him, in the tower. When he arrived in the throne room he found three void beasts and a group of guards. Rift quickly dispatched the closest beast and was about to tear into the second one when the guards caught sight of him. They didnt know his intention for being there so naturally they attacked.

He was restrained by two pegasi but the guards didnt last long. The beast turned and with a swipe of his massive paw like apendage threw Rift and the two guards across the room. Rift was up and back in the fight quickly and was able to scratch the beast enough to hold the beast's paw in the void so it could not move. "You beasts never learn. Do you?" With a single swipe from his glowing claws Rift cut the beast from head to foot, sending it to the Void.

The third beast, a winged creature with a snake's head and a total of 6 legs took one look at Rift and burst through a window. And just as he was about to chase after it the guards stopped him. "You are an intruder and must be captured" Rift rolled his eyes but gave no more resistance. Hopefully somepony would let him know what was going on.

Loro paddled through the water, trying as hard as he could to keep his head above the surface. The water's chilling effect on his wounds had won off, and now the full threshold of pain was starting to arrive. He'd had no time to check his wounds, and had no idea of their severity. The dragon tried to remain silent, but soon found himself wimpering with the arrival of pain. To make matters worse, he'd seen no other exits despite turning corners, and paddling along the winding corridors of the tunnel system. He was starting to get scared now; there was no visible exit. By now his new friends had probably abandoned him, and this made the dragon feel even worse. "At least I won't hold them back any more..." Loro whispered sadly, sill paddling.

 

There was a noise behind him, and Loro froze. A sliding noise muffled by ice cold water. "Aura?" he queried nervously. "Rift? Is that you?" the sliding stopped, and there was silence for a moment. Loro turned, and continued to paddle forward, glancing behind him every so often. He had to find an exit, and fast...

Aura walked over to the group. "Um excuse me." she said a little confused about what was going on. "Do you guys know what's going on here?" she asked. She wondered where Loro and Rift went off to but she knew they could handle themselves. Especially Loro who had proven he can be pretty brave at times.

Wait ponyville is distroyed?!" Ace looked at Star Flare with a look of surprise. "Princess...you have ALOT to explain since being teleported to the future can leave a pony like me confused on what happened. Care to explain?" Ace was trying to calm down again but the thought of his home destroyed dampened his spirets.

 

 

 

"I have no clue." Aura said. "Im pretty much had the same scenario you had except i was sleeping for a while." She explained. "Oh and my names Aura by the way." she added before Ace said something about future teleporting. "Wait are you from like the past or something?" She asked Flying Ace.

Loro was exhausted when he finally saw an exit. There was a tiny chunk of light far ahead in the tunnel, emu baying from a gap in the ceiling. The tiny dragon cried out in relief and paddled towards it, pain forgotten temporarily. Then he stopped.

 

Something tightened around his leg, a slender coil under the water. The next thing he knew, he was underneath the cold body, struggling for his life. Loro resurfaced, catching his breath, then stopped struggling. His luminous eyes grew wide in fear at what he saw; a long black worm basking in the water ahead of him. At a glance, it might have looked like a horrible giant snake, massive from mutation. It's only after a second look that you'd realise what it actually was. A gaping mouth filled with row after row of tiny needle-like teeth. It was a giant leech.

 

Loro struggled against its grip again, attempting to pull free as the creature bought its mouth ever closer. At last, he let go of all civilised restraint, and the young ore dragon bit the tail as hard as he could. The leech writhed in temporary pain, and Loro seized the moment to break free. He thrashed in the water, pulling himself to the exit, then squeezed through the crack. There was searing precise pain along his side, and then he was free!

 

Loro lay on the cobbles panting and sobbing. He couldn't move, from a mixture of numbness and pain. This was the most action he'd ever experienced, and he'd never lost that much blood before. His right side was scratched to pieces, thin lines etched into the soft unguarded skin by needle teeth. Loro curled into a ball again, then passed out on the cobbles.

Although, I'll explain on the way, we're headed for The Luna mountain range." Star said as she slid off of Ace's back and began to head west. "My name is Princess Star Flare, the year is 2105, Ace I believe your from 2089, The Golden Age of Equestria, also know as 'The Sisters' Reign'. My ancestor-I believe you knew her, Ace-Twilight Sparkle, took over when the sister's reign ended." Star continued. "Ponyville was lost in the war with someone I think you two have gotten well acquainted with" She said to QuickJet and Skye. "Silmor, heir to King Sombra, he attacked Equestria 20 years after the defeat of his father at the hands of my great grandmother, Twilight." Star noticed Ace's eyes lit up every time she mentioned Twilight Sparkle. "After the war, Equestria fell, only a few places under the reign of my mother still exist. Silmor's grasp ever expands, still his minions scout our borders." Star explained "As for the moment, my mother has been possessed by an unseen darkness, whom was responsible for all the challenges 'The Mane 6' faced. This darkness sought to destroy the whole of Equestria, why? that I don't know, but I do know we need to stop it. We're going to sneak back into the Canterlot Castle and find the spell I need in the 'Twilight Sparkle' section of the library." She finished, then she put her hoof in the center of their 'group' and said cornily "Whose with me?"

(OOC: since I havent seen The-Master post in a couple of days ill just continue the story until he comes back. Dont worry I wont control Silmor.)

 

Rift was taken and thrown into a cell with two guards watching him. He had attempted to start a conversation with them but they had refused to answer.

"Do you even know what those things were? They were Void Beasts!!! This entire dimension is in grave danger if I dont get out there and shove those monsters back where they came from!"

​He of course received no answer.

"Fine, If you wont let me out then take me to your commander. Maybe he will listen to reason."

Ace didn't waste a minet to clasp her hoof. "Im in, even if this is not my time this is still my home." Ace said with a determined look. "Hey I do have a question..when you were talking to Twilight and the others did they even notice that I was gone?" Ace asked wondering if Twilight even realised where he was.

Silmor watched in curiosity from the safety of the Canterlot throne room. His troops had withdrawn from the city setting up barricade within the palace, the creatures now free to rampage across the streets at will. The first attack was met with failure, Silmor now needing a total rethink of the situation. The link was still open between Quickjet and Skye, but he had neither so they would be of no use to open a portal. He did on the other hand have that lone prisoner who had been the cause of so much dimensional interference. He may be of some use yet still.

 

"You are going to speak now and you are going to speak with haste. I need not know who you are, but what you know. What has Discord have at his command? What are the creatures he terrorizes the city with? Answer now."

 

Silmor could not take the city until those creatures had been wiped out, his only hope would be to send them back to the place they came.

Rift looked at the pony seated on the throne. He hated dealing with politics. 

"If you dont care who I am that is fine with me. Those beasts are known as Void Beasts. Normally they would only leak into this dimension rarely. To see that many at once outside of the Void is disturbing to say the least. As for this Discord you speak of I know nothing. but if he is the one to unleash the Voidlings onto this world you have a much larger problem on your hooves then you realized. The fabric of this reality is too thin as it is, letting more beasts in will only tear it to shreds." 

Rift shuddered at this thought. He had never seen a dimension collapse but some of the older void rangers told stories... it wasn't pretty.

"Now if you will let me be on my way, I have to find the true ruler of this dimension. Only they can repair the fabric, and heal this broken world. Perhaps you know where I can find this Leader?"

The guards drew forth their skirmishers and aimed them at the stallions neck. They leveled their blades close to his skin, drawing a small amount of blood.

 

"Now you shall see what happens when you stand between Equestria and its ruler. Kill him."

Swish put his hoof in the middle of the group, on top of Ace's.

"I'm in! Why not? I could use some fun." Swish shrugged, "What's the worst that could happen? Death?" Swish scoffed, "Please, I eat bowls of death for breakfast... without any milk!" He joked. Swish looked at the rest of the group that had not yet joined in. "You comining? I can tell this'll be an adventure you don't want to miss out on!"

With a soft *Shnick his claws extended and glowed, he proceded to spin and flip the rift pulled him into the space behind the curtain. 

 

"Im afraid you are wrong" Rifts voice called from beyond the curtain of reality. Appearing to come from nowhere and everywhere at once. "First, I will not be so easily dealt with" with that statement a tear appeared, unnoticed by the King, behind him and a single claw reached out and gave him a light scratch from the base of the King's neck to his flank. The claw retracted and the voice called out again. "Secondly the true ruler of this dimension is quite obviously not you. When I got here you were cowering behind your guards. The true ruler could have banished those beasts with almost as little effort as myself, despite being dimension bound."

 

Rift considered leaving then but couldn't resist one last parting shot at the stallion on the throne. "You are not the true ruler of this world. Remember that." With that Rift left the throne room and made his way out of the castle and into the streets below. None of the guards hindered him because he was hidden behind the veil of reality, where only someone who travels between dimensions can reach.

Silmor's horn let out a soft glow, mending the wounds caused by the infernal insect. The guards were pulled back on their hooves if not slain, instantly galloping to their kings side. Silmor parted his way through, looking out to where the stallion had escaped from. Such power could be useful, a creature with such connection to the rift between dimensions. A plan began to brew in his mind,one that would not only rid him of Discord, but also gain him total control of Equestria.

 

"Let him go. It is not safe to go out with those warp beats.We shall remain barricaded in here till we can resume teleport. Send my guard to strengthen the gates."
