gaming Mabinogi anyone?

Does anypony here in the forums play Mabinogi? It's a Korean MMORPG created by Nexon. I play in the US version of the game, in the Ruairi servers! You can find me dwindling away on Channel 6 often .

And for you ponies that don't play mabinogi, well, it's a pretty good game. The only downside is the company that is running the servers, but oh well! There isn't much you can do about that. If you live in the US, EU, or AU, then why don't you take a look at it? Well of course there are other regions, but I'm specifying the regions that are allowed onto the US servers. Come join me in the Ruairi server! (You only pick one server..choose carefully..)

I think I've heard of this but unfortunately I don't have a gaming computer. What's so special about Mabinogi that I should play that instead of say....FlyForFun?

I used to play Mabinogi, back when the US version was still in Generation 2. Damn that game was fun, but it kind of got boring as they expanded. Also, any Internet friends I had at the time all of a sudden dissapeared, only one of them still plays last I checked. I was planning on getting back into it, but they forced me to do some stupid "double password" doohickey that wasn't there back when I started. Hard enough to remember one password, but now TWO? Ugh..

I would say Mabinogi has a much more different style of play than FFF. Mabinogi is much more of a fantasy life where you can meet friends and wear cool outfits. (There is much diversity with the fashion it is quite unbelievable really.) Don't let that fret you though, it still does have a heavy emphasis on fighting as well! There are plenty of different weapons, with fighting classes being unlocked, meaning you can be a mage, wield a puppet, use a sword (or even your fists), or just play music! Oh, music is another great thing about this game. You can write songs in MML format to play on the game with many different instruments being the base for sound. (I've heard people playing the MLP:FiM theme song on an instrument a few times.) It really is a hard game to describe, but the combat system is very unique and not at all similar to FFF or WoW. Take a look, it's quite neat!

I'll have to check it out at least when I get a computer that's good for gaming (the laptop I'm on now is for work and it has a terrible graphics card)

It's not too heavy on the specifications, but if it really is that bad maybe you should wait. And I guess I wouldn't play games on my work computer either so it goes either way. Glad to hear that you might check it out in the future!

Let's put it this way: It randomly decides to graphically hiccup to the point where my pointer dances across the screen, windows move at about 1fps and it becomes utterly unusuable unless I do a few tricks to reset it like open a Terminal GUI or close and reopen the laptop (which essentially shuts it off but holds it in place of where it was so it takes a bit to get things up and running again)

Yeah.. I think it's about time for a new computer. That just doesn't sound healthy. I got my computer off of ebay about three years ago for around $550 USD and it can run Crysis at a fairly high framerate! I'm sure you can find a decent computer for a decent price

Naw, it's not so broken that I need a new one. It's just the graphics card is either not configured correctly or was just bad in the first place. It's company property and I'm not enough of an asset to get a better computer so I'm stuck with this. It only happens once a day though and doesn't hurt anything so for now I deal with it.

I play Mabinogi, and have done so for just about 6 years. Unfortunately I'm on the Alexina server with all of my characters. Obviously since I've put 6 years into this, I find it to be an awesome game.
