While we're threadomancing, I recently watched the Highlander anime movie.

Bad dialog, meh-ish design and stupid story.

So yeah second best out of all the movies

Wait, is that Quest for Vengeance? Because I had heard that QfV was pretty decent. Of course it's not like it could really be any worse than the last two live-action movies, anyway.

I've got that and the animated series on my viewing list, which I need to get some of the stuff on there watched before it piles up anymore.

I thought Endgame was actually pretty good, I almost cried at the one death scene(if you've seen it, you know what I'm talking about.)

I know what you're talking about, but that death was so stupid and pointless in my opinion, that I couldn't really get invested in it. Also the character in question was completely ruined by the way he was portrayed in that movie.

I don't know, I found that they at least made it respectful, and sent him out with a heroic sacrifice, and it had to happen sooner or later due to the actor that played him getting up in years, and it was better this way then just killing him off-screen at some point. I like they at least gave him a emotional death scene, and some great last words.

One thing I think we can agree on about the movie though, Jacob Kells was a great villain from the perspective of being fun to watch, and the fact the actor was having so much fun with the role made it even better.

No, no we can't. Bruce Payne (I think that's his name) was way over the top in his performance, although admittedly it was enjoyably so. Also, he had a pretty weak motivation, and it's just hard to believe that there could be some super-immortal more powerful than Connor or Duncan who they had never even heard of (at least not since they first met hundreds of years ago), despite the fact that he had apparently dedicated his life to getting revenge on Connor.

That's what I meant, it was on the verge of "So bad it's good" I just couldn't help laughing my ass off at him every-time he spoke. I loved Spoony's reaction to "don't you want to be inside me?"

I guess its an okay movie on its own, but but they make "Connor" 3000 years old, added ghosts, cut out Ramirez and made the bad guy just some asshole who wants to rebuilt the Roman empire. And the finale is in post-apocalyptic New York, with Connor leading a rebellion against the baddy's regime. With mechs.

Add  the so-so translation and dub work and you got an okay movie, that IMO kinda misses the point of Highlander.

Its a feature length anime movie, I have never seen the western cartoon.

And Endgame: They break the rule for fighting on holy ground (Sanctuary) break the rule for one-on-one and they KILL OF CONNOR! And it doesn't even result in Duncan getting the Prize. What the hell?

You kill off Connor, and thereby any continuity, just so Duncan can be with some chick I don't even remember from the series?

So yeah, if it wasn't for the Guardian drilling a hole in the earth, this would be my most hated.

They fixed the holy ground thing in the DVD/VHS cut, which is far better then the one from theaters, and the guardian is from the source, which screws over countinutiy even worse.

Granted, Endgame wasn't the best movie, and I still like the series better, but it was more passable then some of the other stuff we got.

First of all, they got rid of the Prize entirely after the second movie. That was the only way they could continue the series.

Second of all, no Kate/Faith wasn't in the series, but that's not even why her whole existence in the movie is so stupid. In the movie, it's established that they were married, but in the series it was established several times that Duncan was never married.
