#1 Flutterfan 174 December 18, 2012 Share December 18, 2012 I introduced two people into the My Little Pony fanclub--and they had a question I couldn't answer. (Not too surprising for me, actually, sometimes I don't know a lot) But--some ponies seem to have cutie marks, and then there are some that don't. What does a cutie mark represent? It says "A special talent" but--Silver Spoon and Diamond Tiara. What are theirs? ... being snooty jerks? Then Dr. Whooves--is his just time travelling? Timing things? Are cutie Marks, in general, supposed to be a talent, or are they just a puberty thing? 1 #1 Flutterfan has and plays:PSP, Ps2, Ps3, PS4, Xbox360, N64, Gameboy Color; Nintendo SwitchPSN: Loydna, Live: Loydaminc May/not friend you--but will talk to you~
Gone Airbourne 21,977 December 18, 2012 Share December 18, 2012 I would guess that cutie marks are a ponies special talent or something that goes along with their personality! They are not necessarily a puberty thing but more the less finding who you are and what you are good at! Everyone has a special something that they are good at and it is up to you to find out what you are good at and hone it !
Obsidian_Winter 1,159 December 18, 2012 Share December 18, 2012 I find them to also be personality based. I mean some of them are Talent based obviously but several characters have cutie marks that more reflect Status, Stature or personality. So yes, the show will say its Special Talent related but common sense and my eyes say different. 1 My past does not define me 'cause My past is not Today

silvadel 1,393 December 18, 2012 Share December 18, 2012 Actually the best explanation of Diamond Tiara's cutie mark I saw in a work of fanfiction. In that it proffered that Diamond Tiara's cutie mark actually represented a talent for Beauty Pageants. But that her family was too uppity to really let her perform in them. SnowFall 5 December 18, 2012 Share December 18, 2012 Yes as it has been said, cutie marks are not so much puberty as findin your place in the world. It defines what you are especially good at. And it so happens that ponies usually find this out around what we humans would consider "puberty". On another note I have noticed that a ponys cutie mark will more often than not be similar to their name, or have something to do with it. Perhaps this is a coincidence or parent ponies have an intuition about these things? Either way, hope I helped.
