The Rocketeer looked at her "alright ill accept your help, and umm if you dont mind me asking," he looked at her wings "what are you?

 

 

Night hawk sighed "these guys  are basicly batman crossed with judge dredd, and they work for the goverment, these guy are highly trained, they are basicly the best of the best"

"Ah... now that I think about it, I have worked with some of them at least once in my previous occupation with the government. Great..."

Tartaros thought for a bit, remembering how they would operate and fight. Their weapons were the primary things to worry about, and with the latest research the government was doing with things, even the simplest could decimate blocks of solid concrete.

"Well then, are you planning on fighting with them or what?"

"I am one of the reasons to hate Eastros' government."

*Schwartz said.*

"It isnt my favorite story to tell, but when I was a child, my brothers and I were kidnapped from our home in Sashiil by the Eastros government science team. I was a normal girl back then, so were my brothers, but after about a year of poor treatment and living in cages, they began to experiment on us. My eyes and hair are quite common traits in Sashiil, but my wings and.... a few other things, were added to me by those scientists. One day, I found out they had gone too far with experiments on my brothers, and they had died during an operation, thats when I made up my mind, I was going to escape. And I did, and it was thanks to the things that they did to me that I was able to get out of there, and slaughter ever single one of those scientists. I was only thirteen years old."

*Schwartz explained coldly.*

Night hawk said "you worked with them? i myself used to be apart of them but i left to join this rebellion, well not so much left as i was converted" he said to tartarous "Weiss, one our super powered members here, has the ability to bring out the good in people and she did that to me

*Schwartz patted Rocketeer on the shoulder.*

"I dont dwell on it, its in the past now. But I do want to make sure that it doesn't happen to anyone ever again, so thats why I fight, and why I offer you my help and the help of my people. The government of Eastros is evil and has been experimenting on our people for centuries due to our adaptable genetics. It is monstrous and it must come to an end. So we fight, and we may not win, but if we dont, we will go down trying. We will never surrender, thats a promise."

*She said determinedly.*

Damon walked back to the first base, going through the alley and then back to the door. He knocked and the guard let him in. He noticed, to his surprise, Lenny and Rufus drinking with some of the guards, practically having a party.

 

Lenny noticed Damon and his face brightened up. "D-Damonth... C'mere..." He said, obviously drunk. Damon sighed as he walked over. "As of righth now I notice I don't appreciated you enougf. Ya really need to take a break, chillax n' stuff. Find a girf to talk to or sumtin..." He said before passing out face first on the table.

 

Damon knew that when Lenny sobers up he's gonna deny he ever said that. And once again the only time he is nice is when he's drunk. "Alright... Sounds good." He said with a grin, taking a swig and then walking out of the room. At least he has some free time now.

"Every now and then," Tartaros said. "I used to be one of the higher ups, but I honestly left because for one, those above me treated me as amere tool, and then theres the whole, 'We will dictate your life no matter what', business going on."

Tartaros took interest in Schwarz's tale of her kind and the experiments usually preperformed by the governments. Remembering the creatures in the sewer, he realized that her scent and the creatures were slightly similar to some degree.

"There's some... failed experiments in the lower levels of the sewer systems," he told her.

"#Most are lost beyond reason, but we scented out some which appear to be mentally intact for now."

"Some of them resembled your scent, so maybe you can use that to an advantage."

The Rocketeer looked up "well, im glad to have you on our team, i should probably catch you up on the situation so far, we are 1 of about 5 rebel groups in this city alone, as far as we know there is a resistance movement in all of the major cities except the capital city, we are of course out manned and out gunned by the goverment, and just now i learned that a squad of spec ops has landed in the city"

"Sounds like it. All of my soldiers that are on their way are trained elites. We may not have as good technology as Eastros, but we train our people better. They become more skillful. Example, the soldiers of my caliber, whom we call the shadow stalkers, while in the shadows and darkness, we become invisible to all senses but touch. Sight, smell, hearing, even some forms of sixth senses we cannot be sensed by. But it can only be taught to the rare Sashiilian with slitted purple eyes."

*She pointed at her own eyes.*

 

"That doesn't surprise me."

*Schwartz said to Tartaros.*

"Thats where they dump all of the still living, failed experiments. In sewers. I never ended up in one, luckily. One reason, is that I was still successful when I escaped, the second, as soon as I got out, I flew for eight days straight until I arrived back home, to find my house burned and the decaying skeletons of my parents inside."

*She said sadly. She pushed the thought from her mind.*

"Luckily, mentally isnt a broad term for Sashiilians. We are either completely whacko, or soundly sane. Its rare for us to be in between. When we get the chance, do you think you could take me to them? It would be interesting to have a chat with them."

The Rocketeer nodded "sounds goods, i will need to find a place to house all those soilders, the built in barracks i have down here can only house about 50 people, ill search the sewers for a good part of the old city for a good place to house them, are they bringing their own weapons?"

"Yes, all soldiers in Sashiil have custom made weapons. Its an old tradition, yes, but a good one."

*Schwartz said.*

 

*Weiss and King finally arrived in the base.*

"RT, I got your message. Whats up?"

*She asked.*

 

"Hey Rocket. Its been a while, how have you been?"

*King said calmly and casually as usual.*

The Rocketeer nodded, and was a little relived, it ment he didn't have to risk a raid on an armory later

 

He looked up and saw Weiss and King walk in "your here good, I'll let night hawk explain" he looked at king "in a word, stressful, but other wise ok"

 

Night Hawk walked up to Weiss "so you remeber when you first met me before you light shifted me? I just about kicked your ass and I think I broke your arm if I remeber right, well, a whole squad of spec ops has landed, and they are heavily armed, and they appear to be in a newer modle of the armor I wear, so I don't know what improvements theyve made or what gadgets they added, this single force of 5 could effectively wipe out our entire operation"

"I seem to recall it a bit differently."

*Sasha said frustratedly.*

 

"Thats exactly how it went Sasha, I was there."

*King reminded her.*

"Stuck in a box, but still there."

*Sasha grumbled.*

 

"Yeah, I remember. And know that I have gotten leagues stronger since then."

*Sasha said.*

"Oh, RT! Remember that guy Lester from yesterday? Yeah, it turns out he is a half demon. Son of that legendary demon warlord Sparda. Im sure you've heard the stories about him. Also Im dating him now."

 

"Met him yesterday and now they are dating? Girl moves fast."

*Schwartz said with a chuckle.*

"Yes, we can," Tartaros said in response to Schwarz. "If we remember correctly there seemed to be a large gathering of them in the lower levels of the sewers, and they weren't ripping each other to shreds for that matter."

Tartaros then listened to Night Hawk's telling of the Spec Ops forces and pieced the descriptions together with his own experiences in their company. He'd need to take extra care this time, because unfortunately they had been the first to find him after he had begun his "work" as Tartaros and it was not fun at all. Of course, that had been before Scipio and the symbiote had achieved "Perfect Unison" and acquired their otherworldly abilities, but he felt they had something else in store this time.

"Heads up you two, if I remember correctly... the new suits they were working on before I went rogue were going to be designed to repair itself with special technology, as well as utilize different forms of availabe energy such as electricity or fire."

Wonderful, this certainly was going to be challenging...

Night Hawk sighed "i sure hope so, because im sure these guys could kick my ass" he turned to tartarous "my armor can emit an electrical feild for defense, who knows what they could do"

 

The Rocketeer was stunned "wait what? you met him just yesterday, after he shot you, and then you find out hes the son of a demon lord and now your dating him? thats a lot to take in" he chuckled a bit at schwartz's comment "yeah, kids these day" he then spoke a tad louded"oh! let me introduce you to the newest member of the team  Schwarts, shes representing the Sashiil military and according to her we have about 200 Sashiil soldiers on the way to assist us"

"Run a scan of your armor," Tartaros told Night Hawk. "Assuming their newer models are based off your's, there might be a chance it bears some of the same weaknesses."

"#Of course since they're upgraded, we might not have that luck upon us..."

Tartaros hoped they were fortunate though. He wondered if the government knew more about the supers and had deployed these soldiers to test their newest counter forces.

"Night Hawk, any idea what they're here for?"

Night Hawk looked at himself "well, most of my armor is titanium, the black parts of my armor is kevlar. so if you have a big enough gun or a really sharp blade you can punch through the kevlar parts"  he said, "though if we are unlucky they might have stab proof kevlar"

*Sasha shrugged.*

"He is an awesome guy. He is cool, calm, funny. I had a good long chance to talk to him amd we really bonded."

*Sasha explained. then Rocketeer introduced Schwartz.*

 

"Nice to meet you Sasha."

*Schwartz shook her hand.*

 

"Nice too meet you too."

*Sasha replied and shook her hand back.*

 

"Wait, you were the woman from before! In they allyway!"

*King said.*

 

"Yes! Very observant of you!"

*Schwartz applauded jokingly.*

"Im kidding, but I did say soon enough, didnt I?"

 

"I guess you did. And Im guessing that the 'brewing storm' is these 200 Sashiilian soldiers of yours?"

*King asked.*

 

"Indeed it is."

*Schwartz confirmed.*

"Sashiil is a nice country. Have you ever been there?"

 

*King nodded.*

"My band toured there for a while. Our 'sponsors' werent very happy about it, but we did it anyway."

 

"So RT. The thing is, not only is Lester a demon, but we also have this other guy named Frey who is a different kind of demon called a yokai. The two of them are with Anna, who unfortunately got tied into all of this, and Allie, a girl who my wall turned into. They are currently at Lester's house since my apartment has been found by another yokai, a former ally to Frey, and a group of psyco government mercinaries who shot me in the face with a flaming bullet."

*She pointed out the scar between her eyebrows and her now much shorter hair.*

Tartaros formed a sharp appendage on his arm, extending it outwards at least five feet from his claws.

"Would this work, it's tougher than it looks," he said as he slashed at empty air, causing a swishing sound as he did so. "I also have another

set of skills which are destructive... to destructive sometimes..."

The Rocketeer sighed " at this rate ill have to buy a demonology book to keep track of this, and now the goverment has super powered agents?" he sighed "do you need a place to stay? you can stay here in the catacombs, or do you have another idea? i think you need to lay low for a bit, but ill make sure you get to work securely, and while your at work ill make sure to have units there at the cafe" 

(she does work at a cafe right?)

 

he turned to king "youve met her before?"

 

Night Hawk looked "yep, that would do it"

Night Hawk sighed "i honestly dont know what we are going to do at the moment, however, untill we figutre something out, i think we should follow them and see what they are up to, if we know what they are doing then we might have a better chance at taking them down"

Illium left after the others did, bored and grumpy. While her powers allowed her to adapt quickly to foreign environments, she didn't much like this new world full of strange accents and culture. As she passed by a storefront an obnoxious bass beat barraged her ears, overlapped by some squeaky female vocalist chirping about things that made no sense.

 

The sound continued to grate in her head as she passed and suddenly something seemed to snap. She furiously turned around and was about to shove her way into the store when a massive glowing rune circle appeared on the door.

 

Illium froze before she touched the handle, knowing it'd probably shock her, and flipped around nonchalantly to face Wesley.

 

"Fancy seeing you here," she said with a sarcastic twist of her mouth.

 

"Well, Eos is obviously out of her right mind, freeing you and Gwen," replied the man, grinning back. "But Gwen freed me, so I guess I owe her one."

 

Illium lifted and elegant shoulder, letting the fabric of her shirt slip off it a little on purpose, and brushed back a curl. "I think you owe me a little more, Wessie."

 

Wesley laughed at her use of his old pet name. "Crush died out when you tried to kill me, 'Allie', so don't even try. See you're still using that name?"

 

"It's as good as any," she said offhandedly. "Short, cutesy, to the point. Common, too. Better than naming myself after a city."

 

"You added an L, though," pointed out Wesley.

 

"Have you ever met another Illium? Oh, wait, I forgot-I was trapped in a box and you were in a coma. I suppose you wouldn't have."

 

Wesley just sighed. "You tried to KILL ME. Forget that, too?"

 

"I try. You were my first failure," pouted Illium, and then, after a moment, added "mind if I try a second time?"

 

Chuckling, Wesley undid the rune lock and said, "I'd rather you take your rage out on the innocent."

 

Illium looked perusing for a second and shrugged. "Why the hell not?"

 

Twenty minutes later the store was filled with bodies, Illium had finally gotten something to eat, and both were wearing new clothes-and the music had finally stopped.

 

"Oh, dear, I accidentally killed a pregnant woman," said Wesley, but he didn't sound sorry. "Looks like your little friend and I are even."

 

"What friend? Oh, the pitiful little demon on a power trip?" asked Illium, dabbing her mouth with a napkin. "He's kinda funny in the sense that he tries so hard to be a villain. I got a good chuckle out of that."

 

Wesley glanced at her. "So you gonna join him?"

 

The girl shrugged again. "I don't like taking orders, as you know, and he seems like a very weak leader. No common sense, no style, no decent plans. I'd achieve more on my own, but I have a plan."

 

"What?"

 

"Can't say," she said, but winked. "It's gonna be good."

In the base, Eos went to see the official. Fenyw stood up and left with a little wave.

Carullo sat in a park with Olivia, having tracked Gwen to a nearby building. She had probably escaped but it was worth a look around.

 

As they approached it they saw it was an abandoned store piled with bodies. Carullo felt confused-Gwen wasn't this type. There was a few odd symbols carved into the door.

 

"Runes," muttered Carullo. "I wonder what-"

 

"Illium."

 

Carullo lifted his eyebrows at Olivia.

 

"They spell Illium. I studied the Elder runes."

 

"Illium..." mused Carullo, and glanced up. "We gotta talk to Eos, she's mentioned that before. C'-DAMMIT!"

 

There was another explosion and he cursed.

Hunter watched fen walk away as Eos  walked in he looked up "so, your the boss of this place, so is this about my release? he asked, he was eager to get out of there as soon as possible, but knowing these people who knows what more they had in store him, he hoped he was getting out

"I wouldn't say boss so much as mother," said Eos with a smile. "I just give them a home and their 'chores' and keep them in line. It'd be pretty boring down here without them. We're a bunch of misfits and misfits stick together."

 

She pulled up a chair and sat in front of him. "I've gotten the information I need and yes, you can go now. However, we have to negotiate a few things first. My terms are that you must leave us alone after this, and that's all. No meddling in our affairs, no matter what we do."
