open Aiicornia: The City of Everfree

Melbourne strolled merrily towards his house. "Now." He thought. "Things can finally get under way." After unlocking the door with the specific magical signature required for his specially built magical tumble lock Melbourne entered into what would now become his home. "Hmm, I will hand it to the builders, they've gone to every expense to impress me." The inside of the house was simple yet elegant, fitting for a pony such as Melbourne. The floors were adorned with the finest polished mahogany and the wallpaper had a regal design in a deep maroon. The windows blotted out by thick heavy red curtains with the only source of light being a low hanging chandelier and a stone fireplace off to the right that he had installed. The walls were lined with book shelves and cabinets containing Melbourne's collection of books, nick-knacks and oddities he had collected over a lifetime of adventuring Equestria. Directly adjacent to the front door was a spiral staircase that lead directly to Melbourne bed chamber and study and off to the left was an archway that lead in to his kitchen. The builders asked if Melbourne wanted any other rooms for his house but he insisted that less was more.

 

Melbourne sat down next to the fire and pulled out a new novel and began reading, tomorrow was going to be quite busy so now was time to relax.

Ashwing who had gotten to his house awhile ago noticed that it was an exact copy of what he said not one little little little miss at all... They even got the sky tower ¨well i guess they arnt that bad here, well except Terraspin got sent here but i could just avoid him¨ he walked up into the tower to check for any clouds or cloud mail. (tower of 3 stories )

 

Terraspin had fallen asleep on the blimp and woke up ¨oh man¨ he rushed out and flied to his cave leaving the earth behind him hot hot hot hot hotty daf style XD then he continued to the cave and sleeped in it.

Rocket woke up from a great nights sleep and walked down his stairs into the kitchen. he ddecided to make some pancakes. after his delicious breakfast, he went outside to see if anypony else was awake and out. the sky was amazing looking. it made rocket glad he left his old troubles at home and came to this new land.

Mortimer awoke from his slumber. He walked down to the living room and stretched. He yelled at Shadow to come with him, then he put some bird food in a bowl for Shadow to eat. "I'll be back in the afternoon. The garden is yours if you want" he said smiling.

He walked outside and saw a stallion on the other side of the road. Mortimer flew to his location and rised his hoof as he talked.

"Greetings, my name is Mortimer. I'm the guardian of Aiicornia".

Mortimer awoke from his slumber. He walked down to the living room and stretched. He yelled at Shadow to come with him, then he put some bird food in a bowl for Shadow to eat. "I'll be back in the afternoon. The garden is yours if you want" he said smiling.

He walked outside and saw a stallion on the other side of the road. Mortimer flew to his location and rised his hoof as he talked.

"Greetings, my name is Mortimer. I'm the guardian of Aiicornia".

Rocket blast smiled shyly and raised a hoof in return and sheepishly said, "pleased to meet you, my names rocket blast. some ponies call me 'rocky'" 

"well at least i can say something to someone," rocket thought to himself "stupid shyness always gets the best of me"

"Good to know, i've got to depart now. Safety awaits this settlement."

Mortimer flew up into the skies to have a clear look of the city, not too far but not too close. He then started to hover above city.

"Good thing that these wings can withstand a good amount of flight" he thought to himself.

Rocket watched the pony fly high into the sky. he decided he hasn't done his favorite thing in a while, so he picked up his pace and went on a run. the new city was beautiful, and he was excited to see the new ponies that were here. as he was running he didn't notice a rock, and he tripped right in the middle of what looked like the busiest part of the city, he picked himself up and kept running.

Daffodil woke up on her couch, she didn't remember falling asleep, but she guessed she had been pretty tired yesterday and had fallen asleep once she had gotten home. She trotted over to her mirror and brushed her mane. She looked around happily at her new room. She was very pleased with how her entire house had turned out, but she was especially happy about her room. It looked exactly how she thought it would. A large circular room on the top of her tower with a large window that goes around the entire room, it was perfect for looking around at the birds that flew by. Oh! Speaing of birds, I better go to the aviary and check on Scraet and Sayble! She thought to herself. She trotted downstairs and entered the aviary. "Good morning guy2! did you 2leep ok?" She asked. "Yeah I slept really good! I like this new place!" clucked Sayble happily. "Yeah, its nice here, I guess." siad Scraet trying hard not to show how much he liked the new house. Daffodil trotted over and pet them a bit. "You guy2 ready for breakfa2t?" "Heck yes!" Yay! Food!" they cawed at the same time. Daffodil giggled. "Well, hop on, I'll give you a ride dow to the kitchen. Daffodil walked downstairs, throught the living room, and into the kitchen. She set the birds down on the table and trotted over to her saddlebag and pulled out a bag of bird seed. She placed the bag on the table and trotted over to the cabinets. She looked through about five before finally finding some bowls. She trotted back to the table and poured out some seeds for the birds. She went back over to her saddle bag and frowned. "Dang, I think I forgot to pack food for me." She trotted to the living room and over to the coffee table where she had seen a map of the city. "Ok... 2o the 2tore i2n't to far, I gue22 I could head over there..." Daffodil rotteed over to the front door. "Ok guy2! I'll be right back, I'm ju2t going to the 2tore really quick!" Daffodil walked out of her home and shut the door behind her. She started walking to the store.

 

Desertrose yawned and rubbed her eyes. She glanced over at the clock. She decided she should probably get up seeing as it was already eight o'clock. She got up and stretched before trooting over to say good morning to Merp. "Good morning Merp! Are you ready for breakfast?" Merp swam up and down excitedly. "Wow! Ok ok!" Desertrose reached into the drawer underneath his tank and pulled out his food. "Ok, here you go!" She said while sprinkling a bit of fish food into his tank. She frowned a bit and looked into the can. She gasped. "Oh no! I brought the wrong can! This is the alsmost empty can I was going to leave in Ponyville!" She trotted quickly downstairs and got the map she had found yesterday. She looked at it. "Hm... Well, It's within walking distance, I bet I can go there really quick before breakfast. She straightened her mane quickly before heading out.

"Everything seems legit" he thought, gliding above the beautiful city and it's landscapes.Suddenly, he divised Daffodil going to the store.

"I'll introduce myself" he thought.

As he flew back down his mane became a mess, once he landed he fixed. He stepped besides Daffodil, "Hello, my name is Mortimer. You must be Daffodil i think, Desertrose talked to me about you." he said as he raised his hand towards Daffodil.

Daffodil couldn't believe her ears. "D-De2ert, what?! 2he's here? You know her?" She asked quickly. Daffodil couldn't believe it, why did she have to come? She's so clingy! And ever since the fight... She shook her head. "2orry, where are my manner2, Ye2, I am Daffodil." She appologized and shook Mor's hoof.

 

Desertrose continued up the road for a  little bit until she got to the part of the road where she had to turn. She looked dow the road a little bit and she saw Mor! Her heart fluttered happily, and then abbruptly sank into her whooves when she saw who he was talking to. Why did she have to ruin everything? Then she saw Daf shake Mor's hoof. Desertrose grew angry. WHY WAS SHE NEAR MY MOR?! She started trotting quickly and angrily up to the two of them.

Mortimer saw Desertrose was getting closer to them, he smiled and said "Hey Desertrose, i'm with your friend here, Daffodil. How you doing? Slept well? You seemed very tired!". Mortimer's happy face changed to a serious one after seeing how mad Desertrose was

"You dork, isn't it clear!? These two doesn't get along very well! If you gonna hang with Desertrose, now that you are her Colt-Friend, you can't hang with Daffodil, you silly!" his mean side thought.

"What's the word for this situation?" Mortimer thought.

"Screwed?"

"Yes".

Rocket finally finished his run and returned to the town, he went towards the store to see if he could meet anyone. he saw the alicorn he met a while ago talking to a few ponies, he went up and went to intro duce himself, "hello Mortimer" he said, "hello everyone, im rocket blast, you guys can call me rocky if you want"

Melbourne walked back into town, unbeknownst to anypony he had gone for an early morning stroll, a habit of his. "Ah lovely. Now that I'm refreshed I suppose I'd best go to the store then, after that find Mort." Melbourne thought to himself. after trotting for a short time Melbourne noticed a small crowd in front of the convenience store, Mortimer included. "Hmm how convenient." Melbourne approached the group.

"Good morning everypony. How are we on this most splendid morning?"

Mortimer started to feel uncomfortable. First, that little problem with Desertrose and Daffodil. And second, the crowd surrounding him.

"Damn, you are screwed!" his mean side thought.

Mortimer started to sweat. "i-i'm sorry everypony but..." he couldn't finish the phrase.

He jumped into the air and flew sky high, trying to loose track of everyone. He was terrified.

lily woke up on her couch. she looked around. she had got off the blimp and went to her new house... checked the place out... she had a LOT to drink... that explained it. she had a splitting headache. she rubbed her head and went to her fabulous black and white kitchen to get some aspirin. "dammit," she thought "npthing in here except my ginger pills." she moaned and got a drink of water. when her head had calmed down she walked into town, leaving kismet and izazi asleep in the house. she went for a walk. everything was so new she had to suss things out.

Desertrose watched Mor fly off sadly. She shook her head, she had a colt-friend stealer to attend to. She turned to Daffodil angrily. "Um, excuse me, but why are you here? ANd why are you talking to Mor? Do you not have enough friends and you need to steal mine? And anyway, I um, thought you were staying back in Pony Ville with all of your millions of friends, what happened to that?!" she said to the yellow mare viciously.

 

Daffodil was a bit shocked, she had never heard Desert talk to anypony like that before. The initial shock of Desert being here and being rude soon faded into anger. "Well, maybe I have important bui2ne22 to do here, but you wouldn't know that, becau2e nopony talk2 to you! Daffodil yelled at the smaller mare.

 

Desertrose was seeing red now. "Well, YOU have obviously never known how it feels to be lonely, YOU obviously have never had any problems making friends. Everypony thinks you're oh-so perfect, when in truth you're just a mean, stupid, lisping, inconsiderate, BUCK ASS!" she screamed.

 

Daffodil blinked back tears for a second, before regaining her cool and rolling her eyes. "De2ert plea2e, quit being 2-2o immature, you're making a 2cene in front of everyone." She said sarcasticly.

 

Desertrose flinched, stepped back, and started to cry. "I-I don't want to m-make a scene, I just want you to leave M-Mor alone, he's my only f-friend, and I don't want you to steal him from me!" She galloped off towards the store at full speed.

 

Daffodil's heart ached. She really felt sorry for Desert, she knew she had a lot of trouble making friends, and she definetly understood her fear of losing her only one. But Daf's stubborness kept her from appologizing. She teared up a bit and looked at the ground. "A-A2hwing? D-do you think I'm 2tupid and mean?" She asked him quietly. She didn't want to admit how much thoses insults had hurt her, Desert always chose the sharpest words when she argued.

 

Desertrose finally stopped galloping once she got to the outside of the store. She walked around to the back of the store, sat down nextto a bush, and sobbed her heart out.

Mortimer watched as how thing unraveled below him. He quickly descent in front of Daffodil and gave her angry look (lol). "I am sorry, but what exactly is your problem? You can't be so mean to that poor mare, you know she is a complete outcast, and yet you make fun of her. You should be ashamed." he said quietly without even flinching.

He then walked to where Desertrose was, his heart ached from seeing her like this. He lifted her head and whooped the tears out of her lovely face.

"A-are you ok?" He said with a tear almost coming out from his eye.

Melbourne sighed. Being ignored made him cross but witnessing school yard level immaturity from fully grown ponies made him furious. Melbourne swallowed his anger and approached Daffodil.

"What was that all about, she seemed quite cross with you indeed. You two have history?"

Daffodil looked at the ground ashamed when the Guardian scolded her. She knew what she had done was wrong, but was it really ALL her fault? She knew he probably was just upset to see his friend yelled at, no matter what she had done. She looked back up at Mel. "Wow, you probably think I am a total jerk now." She said smiling sadly. She looked down at her whooves. "Ye2, we do have 'hi2tory'. 2he is my cou2in. For about ten year2 I wa2 her only friend. But about a month ago we got in a HUGE argument, and 2he 2topped talking to anypony. 2he didn't even come into town anymore, I'm pretty 2ure 2he was living off the plant2 from the Everfree." A tear ran down her cheek. "I alway2 wa2 very unappreciative of her, I was never very nice, and I would try to ditch her everytime she showed up, unle22 my friend2 weren't around." Daffodil turned towards the store. "I, I think I'm going to go appologize. I hone2tly don't blame you if you think I am cruel or immature, and I would under2tand if either or both of you don't want anything to do with me anymore." Daffodil trotted slowly towards the store.

 

Desertrose had been crying by herself for a minute or two when Mor flew down and landed next to her.He walked over and gently wiped off her face. "Y-Yeah, I'm ok." She said sadly. "I-I am so sorry I yelled. I bet you think I'm evil now." She sat down by the bush. "I-I can't believe how I acted back there, I was being so mean!" A couple tears ran down her face. She looked down at her whooves. "I don't b-blame you if you're upset with me, or don't want to be my colt-friend anymore." She started to cry quietly.

Melbourne ran up in beside Daffodil.

"Now now, If your going to apologize to your cousin one insists he come with you. I simply must offer you my emotional support. 'Tis my duty as a gentlepony."

"And besides." Thought Melbourne. "I still need to talk to Mortimer."

"No, no, that's ok, i still... Love you. Anger blinds you and takes the worst out of you. I still remember that time when i was a little kid when my father and his friend had a big fight over political differences, it ended with his friend dead and my father in jail. But don't worry, i don't think you are evil" he said as he cleaned the tears out of his cheeks.

"Oh look, there she comes with Melbourne" he said sarcastically.

Rocket saw drama heating up in the crowd, his shy side engulfed him as he completely bottled up. he put his head down and started to slowly back away. scared of the fight that might soon happen. he watched the drama from a safe distance and continued to back up.

Desertrose was happy for a second when Mor said he loved her, but was instantly upset again when he said Daf was coming. She stood up wearily. She turned and looked Daf in the eye. "W-what? Are you not done mocking me yet?" She asked quietly.

 

Daffodil was filled with a bit of terror, not only was the alicorn not happy to see her, he was standing behind desert, his horn glowing and pointed directly at her. "D-Desert, I'm here to appologize." Daffodil said nervously. "I-I am truly sorry for what I have put you through these past couple of months, and I regret everything I have said to you since our argument, and I am extremely sorry for what just happened." Daffodil looked down at her whooves.

 

Desert looked at Daffodil skeptically. She knew Daffodil wasn't one who appologized much, and most of the time unless somepony was really important to her, she would either wait for the other pony to appologize first or she would sometimes even abandon that friendship all together. Desertrose sighed a bit and trotted over to Daf. She put her hoof around Daf. "I-It's ok, I forgive you, b-but you still owe me one ok?" She said gently. Daf gave her a quick rub on the head, thanked her, and trotted off with her friends. Desert hadn't wanted to straight up reject Daf's appology, but she didn't quite forgive her all the way quite yet, seeing as Daf had been the main cause for her not being able to go into town without getting. She turned back to Mor, trotted over to him, and leaned against him. "Mor? Do you want to come in the store with me really quick? I just need to get fish food really quick, and afterwards we could go explore the town." She smiled up at him.

 

Daff grinned and rubbed on Desert's head. "Hey! Thank2 for being a good 2port about thi2 2i2! She said happily. She trotted back over to Mel. "Hey, I think there wa2 a 2tallion I haven't met yet back where we were, want to go check it out with me?" She asked cheerily.

Before Daffodil turned around and left, he gave her a small grin, she knew she had done the right thing.

He turned around to Desertrose and smiled at her. "Yes, let's go." he said as he hugged Desertrose and both entered the store. He was really in love of her, and she could really tell.
