Mask was relieved that his unintentionally cynical sounding remark. Mask walked outside alongside Night Song and braced himself for the cold weather. The cold was still initially biting, but Mask was glad to see that the storm had mostly died down, opening the door for conversation. Mask began to walk in the direction of the restaurant. "So, what was Manehatten like? I mean, other than... You know."

"I, uh, sure. I guess we could do that." Storm was a little surprised at the sudden change in topic but realized he should have seen it coming. Chocolate was important to Starshy and it was natural she'd want Storm to meet him. That didn't stop Storm from envisioning the multitude of awkward scenarios that could stem from just such an event. Nevertheless, he pushed all of that worry aside. If it was what Starshy wanted to do, then he would go along with it. Just then, a thought sprung up in his head. "He's seen a pegasus before, right? 'Cause I don't want to freak him out the first time we meet." He flapped his wings slightly to emphasize his point.

" No, his marefriend is a pegasus. I saw her briefly when I went to talk to him. " Starshy said. " I don't think he'll be freaked out by your wings. " She gave a smile at him, pleased that he had agreed to her notion. It was probably be a little awkward at first, but if she could be friends with Chocolate then by couldn't Storm be? Perhaps she could make friends with Chocolate's marefriend. She seemed nice.

 

Starshy glanced down at her menu again, lost in thought. It's all behind us now, right? We're now with who we want to be, it shouldn't be a problem.. oh dear I am overthinking this aren't I? She chewed on her lower lip of her muzzle.

 

" So, what can I get you? " Asked a voice suddenly, snapping Starshy out of her thoughts. She looked up to see a waiter, who was a unicorn like her. He had a friendly smile and his pad of paper floating out infront of him. He was a black coated stallion with blue eyes, a bit taller than Storm by a few inches. Starshy realized that she was staring a bit and turned her eyes away. " Uh, yes, I'd like the waffles with strawberries on top of them please. "

 

" Fine choice, Miss. " Said the stallion, and looked at Storm curiously. " What will you be having, sir? "

"Excellent, your orders will be out shortly." The waiter made his way to the kitchen. Storm turned back to Starshy. "So, uh, what's up? You still seem out of sorts about the whole Chocolate thing. Do you wanna talk about it?" Storm didn't like to see Starshy worried like this and it made him nervous in turn. Does she still have feelings for him? Is she regretting her decision? Oh Celestia, maybe I'm not being a good enough coltfriend. Storm put on a smile and tried to ignore the flood of thoughts threatening to overwhelm his brain. It'll all work out in the end, Storm. Just you wait.

I'm not regretting being with you. I could never think that, you are wonderful. " Starshy smiled hoping to ease his worries as well and placed her hoof atop his. There wasn't anything she could do. Chocolate was with someone else and she certainly wasn't going to step in and try to change that - what kind of mare would she be then, especially since she had a great coltfriend right in front of her. No, Starshy just wanted to be friends with him.

River ordered a cabbage sandwich, a cupcake and some water.

 

"Would you two like some cider for your date?" asked the waiter who was writing down their orders.

 

"Yeah I think we'd like a bottle" answered River. River followed the waiter pony with his eyes as he trotted away to the kitchen. Then turning his look back at Snowdream.

 

"So, let's get to know each other, you go first" he said.

"Hmm... Well... There isn't really much too know... The only memories I have of my foalhood, are playing in the snow with my older brother, Storm Twister." she paused taking a deep breath, feeling a lump forming in her throat, "He...He went missing when i was fourteen, I never saw him again..." She paused again, feeling herself close to tears.

 

'Come on snow, pull yourself together, dont start crying and making it snow'

 

"The next thing i can remember after that is being saved by Twilight Sparkle. She aparantly found me in a sphere of ice. after freeing me, i stayed with her for about a week. she taught me lots of spells and helped me improve my magic. Princess Celestia then offered me a spot in her school for gifted unicorns. So I studied there for several years, infact i just graduated, from there, and then i won a ticket to go here, and well, i think you know the rest." Snowdream paused, she was frowning, remebering her past was always a dificult, emotional experience for her.

 

"what about you?" She asked, forcing a smile, fully aware of how fake it must look.

River was still eating when he felt a super-extremely-gentle touch on his hoof. He figured it wasn't anything really serious, so he just ignored it.

 

"Hey Snowdream, what do you call a deer with no eyes?" he started a joke. Snowdream didn't reply. "No idear" (No-eye-deer/no-idea for the record). Snowdream stifled. "What do you call a deer with no eyes and no legs? Still no idear" River gave her a smug smile.

River was so enriched by their kissing, he never felt these feelings before, every time Snowdream would kiss him, his mind would go blank, as if he was so immersed with her lips, that he forgot anything he knew up to that point in his life, aside from the fact that he got to where he was by having a beautiful and amazing marefriend, one that can control snow, one that shares the same feelings as him, one that likes to laugh just like him, one that he hurt, one that hurt him, one that he would never forget, Snowdream, the one and only.

I dunno" he shrugged, "We'll talk about it when we have to part okay? I kind of want to make the best of it for now" he said and smiled wholeheartedly.

"I don't remember much. I was just a little filly back then," she said. "I do remember there being too much noise and very little space," she tried to recall. "But that's all," she said. "Did you live anywhere else other than Ponyville? Or visit others towns and cities in Equestria?" she asked with slightly chattering teeth.

Yawning she rolled off River and onto the bed. She didn't realize she was even tired until her head touched the soft pillow. After a Huge yawn she rolled over so she could see River. Her eyelids started to get heavy and keeping them open seemed to be a battle. Surrendering any effirts of trying to stay awake she let her eyes close and her breathing steady. Sleep took her instantly.
