private Winter Resort Romance and Slice of Life

Snowdream glanced aroun her room, before all she had really taken in was the view. There was one giant double bed, a closet, a TV and a sofa.

 

An idea struck her.

 

"We could share?" Snowdream suggested.

 

River gave her a confused look.

 

"Ah.. I mean share rooms..."

 

'Oh god that sounds so awkward!' Snowdream panicked, come on brain give me a hand here before I say anything...

 

"The sofa!" Exclaimed Snowdream triumphantly!

 

River stood in her doorway, still looking confused.

 

"You can use my room until yours is ready, if its not ready by night, you can stay here, you can sleep on the sofa." She explained, giving him a warm smile.

"Uh... s-sure, okay" said River and cleared his face of a confused look in favor of a small blush. He came into the room and put his bags next to the sofa. He looked around the room for a little.

"Nice room" he said while still exploring with his eyes. He noticed there were a pair of large curtains to his left. He came over to them and set them aside to reveal a magnificent view of the snowy mountains.

"Whoa..." he said at the view, he took a few steps back to enjoy what he was seeing a little more, and he ended up sitting on the double bed, first only his flank and he kept going until he was sitting up on it. he turned his head to Snowdream while still sitting on the bed. Snowdream was almost in tears from the view, at least that's how she looked.

"Looks like you got the best room in the resort!" he said to Snowdream and smiled. Snowdream smiled back.

River got off the bed and came over to Snowdream.

"You know what I wanna do?" he said with a mischievous smile. Snowdream blushed a little bit.

"I want to... RACE YOU TO THE SKI LIFT!" he said and took flight, speeding out of the room.

" Okay, Starshy. Don't panic. " Starshy said to herself and she managed to calm herself down. It was then she rememeber that she was suppose to meet with Chococlate so that they could wander around the resort together. Perhaps that would help her take her mind off of things.

 

She then left her room, heading for the stairs instead of taking the elevator. She partically raced down those stairs, even though it was only about three flights of them considering she was on the 3rd floor. Starshy was panting a bit by the time she had reached the lobby level, and then went to the spot that she had said for them to meet.

 

Starshy was surprised to find that Chocolate was already there. " Chocolate! " She explained. " I'm so - " She paused, looking at him and glanced at his back to see a familar saddle bag. " M-My bag! I thought I'd lost it on the train. "

"COME BACK HERE! WHY YOU...!!!" Snowdream shouted playfully.

 

She galloped out of the room, just in time to see the stallion turn to run down the stairs.

 

Snowdream made chase, but became aware that any attempts of catching him were hopeless, at least while they were inside...

 

At last her oppertunity arose. River was well ahead but slower on the snow. Snowdream started to close the gap between them. But the ski lift was getting closer. In one final attempt to win, her horn started glowing. A huge boulder of snow, sourrounded by Snowdreams light blue aura, appeared and landed on River, burying him.

 

Snowdream giggled as she galloped past him and claimed victory!

Kites giggled happily and sat down while Cracker went to order the food. She looked up at the menu and flinched at the prices, now that was a considerable amount of bits... She decided she would pay for her own food. Once he came back she smiled happily at him. "I really appriciate you offering to pay, you're very sweet, but I don't think it's fair for you to have to pay for both of us though, the food here is really expensive, and I don't want you to have to pay so much." she said smiling cheerily at him. Cracker started to protest but Kites put her hoof over his mouth gently. "Ok, how about this, I can pay half, and you can pay half, since you didn't get as much you'll still be helping me pay, but I will pay some also so you don't have to waste your bits." She smiled and took her hoof off his mouth. "Does that sound ok sweet heart?" She asked Cracker giggling.

As the waiter came with the food, he delighted his eyes. "Hey, Kites, what do ya' think? Like it? I also ordered some candles."

The brown stallion smiled and looked over his shoulder to the bag on his back as Starshy tried to apologize to him. She seemed surprised and pleased that he had been holding onto it for her. He nodded and chuckled softly motioning for her to take them. "You should really be more careful~ Of course if you had left your things I would have lent you mine..." His voice trailed then he smiled. "They would have been rather large on you but I think you could pull the look off." He said while offering her his huge hoof. "Shall we look around together?"

Starshy sighed with relief and even laughed a bit at his joke. " Yes, I'd be swimming in them. " She said with a smile and she took her saddle bag from him. " Thank you so much, Chocolate. I don't know what I'd do without my bits. I had a whole bag of them in here. " She stepped closer to the tall stallion and embraced his leg with her own in a sign of gratitude. (( ooc: just think of it as she's hugging his leg, I guess? ))

 

" Sure, I'd love to. " She said, quickly letting go of his leg and pulling out the scarf she had packed in her saddle bag, using her magic to place it around her neck and also pulled out the matching hat to place atop her head.

Chocolate felt his face warm up as the unicorn hugged onto his leg. He had never been this close to anyone before and it made his heart skip a beat. Was he supposed to return the gesture or simply stand there? "Your welcome, Star." He said trying to hide his face behind his long black mane. As they walked outside the lobby he noticed her using her magic once again to place some clothing items on herself. "Doesn't that hurt?" He asked noticing her glowing horn. "When your horn glows like that I mean." He said still fascinated by her.

Night Song got to her room, unlocked the door, and stepped inside. Inside, it was relatively spacious with sort of cabin feel to it. The furniture was made of wood and looked as if they were large sticks that were nailed together. She ran her hoof across the bed. It felt cool to the touch, though she was going to warm it up herself when she goes to sleep later on in the evening. Unpacking done, Night Song went to the entrance of the hotel and waited for Mask.

Starshy shook her head, as they walked out. " No, it doesn't hurt. That's only if I was using an advance magic to do something. For instance, lifting something into the air that isn't particularly light. I take it you've never see a unicorn before. " She said, grinning at him.

 

She felt the cold as soon as they were outside and she shivered a bit, glad that she had her winter gear to keep her at least somewhat warm. It was gorgeous outside, the snow covering everything. " Isn't it beautiful? " She asked, gesturing to the scenery before them.

The stallion carried a light smile when she asked about his past experiences with unicorns. He shook his head once more and looked down to her as they walked together towards the door to the main entrance leading outside. "Can't say I have. Since I was a young colt I was pretty much born and raised by earth ponies. I've only recently read about pegasus and unicorns. You are the first one I've seen up close..." He paused when he realized his wording might have come off as impolite. "I didn't mean for that to sound so rude." 

 

He noticed she shivered a little as the cold air hit them. He moved a little closer to her attempting to shield her from any stray gusts of wind with his body. As he did so, he noticed the wind catching her mane and for just a moment. He was taken a back by her beautiful appearance. When she asked him about the beauty of the snow covered resort he gave a small nod still gazing down to her, barely paying attention to the resort. "Mhmm, it is nice."

Mask unlocked his room to see that it had been arranged just like he had requested in his reservation letter. The walls were painted dark brown, and the bed was next to the window, which looked over the edge of the mountain. He was liking the results of his hefty investment more and more. Mask unpacked his things, and looked around his room some more. He found a bookcase with a few books on it, and a balcony. As little as this may seem, he didn't ask for any of it, so it was a pleasant surprise. Mask picked up one of the Daring Do books, and began to read. Getting hungry, Mask decided to go to the food-center thing <A large, mall like building, with various restaurants to choose from, and plenty of tables. DM post over> and got in the elevator. On the way to the door, Mask noticed Night Song looking rather bored. "Oh, hello!" Mask said, walking toward her. "How long have you been here?"

((OOC: I'm not sure how much of this is my fault, but the couples are getting kind of segregated. We should have them all interact with each other a little more.))

Starshy blushed a bit from his sudden closeness. She hadn't expected it. Her stomach suddenly decided to speak up and growl, and her face turned even more red from a different embarrassment. " Perhaps we should go back inside. I haven't realized how hungry I am. I think there's a restaurant here somewhere. "

Rocket decided he wanted to go to bed, he waved at a few cute mares ,who either smiled or looked at him funny, and made it to his

Room. He took a quick shot of hard cider and thought about his day, he was glad to be away from the troubles his past had. One of his few friends reccomeneded he get away from everything, and he did. He laid down in his luxurious bed. And fell asleep

Chocolate's ears perked on his head as he heard her stomach growl and he exchanged a look with her. "Perhaps we should head back inside for something." The stallion walked her to the main entrance and opened the door for her. Once they were inside he noticed some other ponies starting to gather at the dining hall as well. He began to become a little flustered. He was always a bit nervous he'd draw unwanted attention because of his appearance. He smiled to her. "How about we sit there?" He asked motioning to an unoccupied table with his head.

Starshy was grateful to be inside again. As much as she liked the snow, it was just too cold. I think I need to dress up more warmly..She made a mental note to herself the next time that she'd have to go back out there.

 

She gave him a smile in return and sat down at the table that he had mentioned to. As she sat there, she was beginning to realize this was like a date. Was it suppose to be? Starshy never had been on one before..

 

Her heart sank, thinking of Storm Front. She had met him on her elevator ride to her room. Be it had been a short time, he had been friendly to her. Did she like him too? Considering they had all pretty much arrived here at the same place, he must have seen her with Chocolate before they had met. What was she going to do? She liked both stallions, even though she hadn't a chance to speak to Storm Front more.

 

It was becoming more apparent that she had a problem on her hoofs. Conflicted feelings were filling her stomach, making her feel sick and suddenly her desire for food was gone.

 

Starshy lowered her head onto the table, wishing at time this for a female friend to talk to.

There was a brief moment of silence between them as they were seated. He gave her a weary smile but noticed she didn't seem like herself, she appeared troubled about something. In fact, it didn't seem like she wanted to be there. He assumed it was something he had done. Perhaps taking her to dinner was a bad idea so soon? Had he given her the wrong impression? He didn't mean anything by it as much as he was trying to pay her back for the hot cocoa on the train.

 

He looked down to the floor and stood up. "...I errr... just remembered I had some things to take care of before it gets late." He said thinking up a reason to give her time to breath. "My room number is 101. If you ever need anything Star, just yell and I'll come running." He said before dismissing himself with a disheartened smile. He slowly trudged out of the dining area and ducked down through the doorway unable to figure out his misstep.

 

(Whoops, didn't mean to pull her away from Storm. I'll go ahead and pull Cocoa away and leave it so Starshy and Storm can meet again.)

Starshy lifted her head at the sound of his voice, and before she could say anything he was already gone. Tears filled her eyes unexpectedly. She felt bad for making him feel uncomfortable and acting like way. She wished she knew what to make of her feelings and everything that was happening.

 

She continued to sit there, now by herself, as the tears began to flow down her face. It was a little embarrassing to be crying in a resturant but she couldn't help herself. Starshy used her magic to leviate a napkin that was sitting on the table to help drab her eyes, telling herself to calm down once again.

 

Finally she willed herself to get up and leave the resturant. She needed to some time to herself to think things though.

 

She went back to the main lobby of the resort and sat down on a couch near the fireplace, in attempt to warm the cold that she felt in her heart.

The cold bit Mask just as hard as it did Night Song. He had brought a nice arctic coat, but he had left it at his room. Mask unconsciously  began to drift toward the closest heat source, until he brushed up against it, realizing that it was Night Song walking beside him. "Oh! Heh, s-sorry!" Mask stuttered, moving a little bit to the side.

Snowdream watched as RIver dug his way out of the giant snowball.Snowdream giggled at him as he struggled against the snow, obviously unfamiliar to him. He finally got to his feet and looked at her. There was a mixture of emotions on his face, the most obvious was shock. He started to say something but half way through the sentence he stopped. His eyelids fluttered and he fell backwards into the mound of snow.

 

"RIVER!" Snowdream cried. She galloped over to him skidding to a stop on the slippery snow.

 

"I'm sorry! I'm so sorry! I didn't mean... It wasn't ment..." she cradled his head in her hooves crying. She sat there in that position for a few minutes. after a moment Snowdream realised that she was shivering.

 

Snowdream was almost immune to the cold, only when it was really bad did she start to shiver. She had presumed that the snow was just coming from her horn like it always did when she cried, but once she had calmed herself down the snow kept falling. The winds had picked up and the cold seemed to start biting at her.

 

Panicking on what to do with River she tried to think of something she could do to get him out of the storm.

 

She had made up her mind.

 

A light blue aura sourounded River as she focused her magic. Grunting with the effort she gave the spell one final burst.

 

With a bright blue flash River disapeared.

 

Snowdream had teleported him back to her hotel room. She didnt have enough energy to teleport herself back, due to the giant snowball tha tseemed to have ruined her day.

 

Snowdream started to gallop back towards the resort. In her haste to get away from the stinging cold she tripped up the concrete staircase and fell, badly grazing the skin on her leg.

 

She yelped in pain as she got back to her feet and kept going. She made it into the lobby and flopped down on one of the couches around a warm fire.

 

She buried her head in her hooves. she had exausted herself of all tears and just lay there, her leg battered and bleeding a smidge. Utterly defeated and just hoping that River didn't hate her now, she lay still as the world went by...

Snowdream's hotel room. The storm was already blazing outside, the windows were shaking and making loud noises, and River was lying on the floor, unconscious.

A few stormy moments passed, and Rive finally started to open his eyes. He fluttered them a little bit, and he woke up suddenly. He shook his head and uttered unintelligibly while trying to sit up. He rose up and looked around the room, he saw his luggage to his right, and he realized it was Snowdream's room.

'What... happened?" he looked confused. It was most likely due to the trauma he was caused that he could not remember. He stood up on all fours and went over to his bags. He opened one of the pockets in the side of his suitcase, and took out a white sheet of paper. He took out a pen too and took both the paper and the pen to the bedside-table.

'Forgot what happened, in case of reoccurring amnesia, your name is River, you are at a resort, you are staying in a room of a mare you like, her name is Snowdream, find her first if you can't remember.' he wrote on the paper. He took the paper with him, and returned the pen to the side of the suitcase. He took his saddlebag and stashed the paper inside it. He put the saddlebag on him and started to hover.

'Right, now to find Snowdream, I hope she got inside before that storm' he thought to himself. He flew out of the room, and headed for the stairs. he went down one plight, and meant to continue to the lobby.

What he didn't expect to see though, was what he had forgotten.

"RIVER!" she shouted.

"Sarah?" he asked confused and stopped hovering, his sister Sarah immediately hugged him. He was still very confused as to what's going on.

"What are you doing here, Sarah?" he asked out of sheer naivety. Sarah let go of him.

"I've been looking all over for you! I had to rent a room for the night to look for you! Oh I'm so happy you're okay" she replied and gave him another quick hug.

"Oh, um, okay, why have you been looking for me?" he asked another.

"Well, after you didn't get on the train, I saw you fly away, and because I couldn't get off the train, and because this storm started out of nowhere, I had to rent a room here, and when I asked the receptionist about you, she said you had checked in, so I've been looking for you all day!" answered Sarah.

"Oh... right... hey, do you mind if we continue this in the lobby? I was on my way to search for something" said River. Sarah nodded, and they both got down to the lobby. He searched with his eyes for a moment, and saw a few ponies crowded at the fireplace, he decided to check there.

"Listen, Sarah, stay here for a second, I'll... be right back" he asked Sarah, and didn't give her a chance to respond. River made his way over to the fireplace, and right behind one of the couches. He looked forward, he looked at the couch to the left, he looked at the couch to the right, and he looked dow-'SNOWDREAM!'

Snowdream was bleeding, shivering and was covering her face with her hooves, River was silent for a moment, he was a little shocked.

"S-Snowdream! What happened to you?" he asked, very much concerned.
