Thundershy 144 January 18, 2013 Share January 18, 2013 I got tired of waiting for a Fluttershy Giant Vinyl so I kinda made my own. It started as one of the drawable versions I found at Target. It uses the same body as the giant brushable I have in the background. Then I removed some plastic to get rid of the black "tats" and spent a very late night mixing custom paint to match her the best I could...

Kamil 315 January 18, 2013 Share January 18, 2013 Wait... So you bought a generic pony vinyl statue (not entirely sure what you mean by drawable), and completely converted it into Fluttershy? Like, paint for the fur, eyes and cutie mark, and custom-made mane and tail? This space intentionally left blank.

Thundershy 144 January 18, 2013 Author Share January 18, 2013 They came out with vinyl figures that had a lot of black outlined shapes all over them and included markers and stickers to customize them with. There have been Rainbow Dashes for a while, but my Pegasister found the only Fluttershy I've ever seen. I couldn't bring myself to do that to Fluttershy so I modded it a bit. I removed a layer of the molded vinyl to get rid of the "tats" and had to paint the wings and mane / tail as they were all white. I went with a flat paint and had to mix it custom to get it perfect. Hope that makes sense.
The Mane-iac 1,648 January 18, 2013 Share January 18, 2013 (edited) That looks great, whole lot easier than Rainbow to paint I'm sure. Just messing around on mine with sharpies so far has shown the problem areas I will run into while painting her. I really love the molds on these, especially how Fluttershy's tail drags a bit. Just a tip for next go-round, nail polish remover will remove the black lines. It's what has been used by customizers to remove the cutie marks for years. Wait... So you bought a generic pony vinyl statue (not entirely sure what you mean by drawable), and completely converted it into Fluttershy? Like, paint for the fur, eyes and cutie mark, and custom-made mane and tail? This is the Design-A-Pony Fluttershy, they also have one of Rainbow Dash. Here is my Rainbow, which is currently a work in progress I so far have just screwed around with some sharpies. Going to be grabbing paint this weekend and removing the black outlines as well. They are made by Hasbro and can be purchased at pretty much any store that carries pony merch, I picked mine up at Meijer where I work. We got our first batch of both Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash in back around X-Mas but only recently started displaying them. I really hope they make the rest of the mane six, I want an Applejack and Rarity of these so bad. The hair mold for Rainbow looks better than the Funko version Hot Topic sells if you ask me. Fluttashy 325 January 18, 2013 Share January 18, 2013 This looks awesome! You did a great job! I've thought of buying those custom paint your own ponies. I wish they would make a twilight. What kind of paint did you use?
Thundershy 144 January 18, 2013 Author Share January 18, 2013 I used a Testors enamel paints to mix the skin color. I couldn't find a pink locally to start with so I used some acrylic paints my wife picked up a while back for a cosplay she was working on. I kept both completely flat and the mane / tail look more awesome every time I look at it because of how flat the paint is.
