Could be a meory leak in the program.  Granted having Steam and Winamp doesn't help nor not having the task manager showing how much RAM is available.

I see you're using Windows 8. that could be the problem

Explorer could be eating a lot of the memory

lol Windows 8 Kicks ass. I been using it since last Nov.

no I found the issue.. believe it or not it was my lexmark x9575 Pinter manager app. still though 16 gig of ram...lol

also there nothing wrong with black ops 2.. it just failed to load due to the fact there was no physical memory left.

not sure why explore.exe was targeted by windows on this one.lol

btw a simple reboot fixed it, on a cold boot my system only eats 2.3gig of memory on idle out of 16. I kind of wish windows 8 would eat/use more memory then 2.3gigs. at lest 6-7 gigs on idle would be ideal (for this pc). For people that understand how Windows vista/7/8 handles memory would agree. People that still believe in xp have no idea why this is required

Hint : Idle memory is wasted memory.

Hah, my desktop only has 4GB of system RAM and that's all I need for it.  Not a big fan of Superfetch caching though.

I'd highly suggest disabling Fastboot by the way.

you understand what superfetch is right, its basically a virtual folder with in /windows/prefech that holds nothing but junction points

In Vista it was a service that literally cached and crammed everything into system RAM and tried to base what it placed on user patterns.  It is responsible for a lot of HDD thrashing and I usually turn it off.  I don't know its function in 7 and 8.

It is a windows service in Vista/7/8, the function is targeted to /windows/prefetch folder, the folder it self is contains Junction Points  that references to other location  across all  attached sata ii drive with in that pc.

this is how windows loads common files faster

Right, but what I meant is that in vista it was really bloated and farfetched (pun intended).

well to be honest it hasn't change much form vista >7>8, Its better hardcoded, but still the same function. my suggest is not to disable it though

in windows 8 though it seems they may have removed Ready boost. at lest on the few pc I worked with I haven't seen the option nor the windows service

another miss informed function in windows is /windows/winsxs folder.  If you hear any one tell you to delete/clean out the winsxs folder, hit them in the face really hard.

Let me put it this way.  in Vista, leaving it on, would take Vista

15-35 minutes to 'boot' and at times will take it an hour to shut down.

I've tested 7 and 8 (while I do have Windows 7 laptops my laptops are

still XP) .  When I tested Vista on my Athlon 2500+ XP in the release

candidates (when Superfetch was enabled) it took Vista 6 hours to reach

idle.  It also consumes a massive amount of hard drive access and most

computers, especially laptops, it's noticeable because Superfetch

doesn't operate in that manner on DC (battery) power.

I remember running Vista on a machine that was a P3 800 and only has 256MB of RAM.  I dunno, I suppose each system varies.  I have put Windows 7 on a P3 with 768MB of RAM.

I personally miss Windows Longhorn build 4008 with Plex..

I wish they would have finished plex and the explore.exe plex

Longhorn 4015 was the last build that had plex before it was removed. 4024 started to show it's vista look.

I cried when I played with longhorn 4024, I was like weres the plex...... and then with build 4054 WinFS was removed... (windows Future Storage) File system. 2 years later all we got was windows vista. From longhorn 4008 to Vista, And most of the major features did not make it.

btw Longhorn Had Tiles (for people that never notices look in the screen shot above. Extend Tiles.) sure there not live tiles like there touting in windows 8 but none the less there tiles

Am I the only one satisfied with Windows 7? I have no plans to update to 8, even if I should get a copy for free.

windows 7 was good till Win 8 come out.

explore.exe ribbons +1

DX 11.1 +1

IE 10 +1

hybrid boot +1

Built in MSE +1

File History +1

System Refresh +1

Windows Store +1

Dual StartScreem w/ Startmenu Support +1

Updated Kernel +1

Robust code +1

100,000 other improvements & features

the only thing I h8 about win8 is metro UI app, Crappy style mobile apps that can not be run in window mode, Full screen only.. its kind of stupid.

It's actually DirectX 11.1 instead of 11.0.

My GTX 660 Ti barely fits the specs for 11.1.

ya that's what I meant.  DX 12?? lol I wish

Why can't Atom rendering hurry up and be released mainstream. Vector and Polygon counts is getting way outdated and looking uglier as the years go on

Do people still use Internet Explorer? I've used Firefox exclusively for over six years now.

Im a "IT", A+ and Windows server Admin and ....

I only use IE, I hate FireFox and don't get me started on Chrome

ever pc I setup for  other people I only support IE and suggest IE

integrated solutions are the only solutions. They just work with no fuss.. now I can't guarantee the user behind the keyboard is not a it-10-t error ,
