  1. Just so you guys know, the 'kayne'd' the microphone is a part of the opening ceremonies and it was done that way until the various fandom VAs/DJs/famous ponies ran out of things to say.
  2. Moderation (been there, done that) and management are two totally different things. More or less planning and all that. Nonetheless throwing it out there for the better good.
  3. From my perspective of having the oppurtunity in dealing with brony social networking sites I can easily state that the condition of the fandom would make it very difficult to manage (notably in terms of setting boundaries. Forum constraints are easier to enforce than those on walls). Not saying it's impossible but it requires a lot of considerations than a forum or dA group.
  4. Ironically the lower standards of the 21st century Lithium Ion doesn't help. I still have some that are going on 10-15 years that defy any and all Li-Ion standards. GG Sanyo and Sony. As for the question I've kinda felt that technology typically lags in business vs. personal use. I know it's been going a bit faster than it was many years ago but at the same time we're hitting some massive hurdles (LTE, Windows 8, etc.).in that one they pass it'll slump back down to around 2003 when XP was the norm and the sixth generation of gaming consoles were doing strong. There is always better technology being made behind closed doors until it's ready for consumer use (although I will say the flexible OLED is kinda creepy). Now, where we are going too fast is in terms of firmware (software that drives a piece of hardware internally, not to confuse with drivers). I've seen way too many devices being released that have bad firmware and it's annoying to troubleshoot. Of course most of my primarily laptops are still 4:3 aspect ratio and single core. My T60 gets little use.
  5. Logitech does make a keyboard that can be washed. Might do wonders for all those messy foods out there. I'd say apples or any other fruit as a good snack and they're healthy.
  6. To be fair, I've always hated how Windows Vista and 7 start menu's were (in comparison to that of Windows XP) so I welcomed the new change. I prefer quick clicking than scrolling.
  7. My understanding of all this is that Microsoft is planning to unify everything into one system (even as far as trying-to-axe Windows RT in favor of x86 tablets this year). It's not a bad idea but I'm sure Apple already has an edge on that.
  8. I suppose the test of time for me is how well Anti-Virus programs run on my Toughbook fleet (4 working Pentium IIIs, one of which has a 2D Lynx video chipset which is like watching a slideshow with basic XP). I think the last three I've used is Avast, Norton (the one that Comcast provides) and MSE. Avast has been known for the last three years to cause hardware level errors in my Hitachi Travelstars, even in the SATA model drives...Sadly they have never fessed up to it and blame Hitachi for it (if I remember this was from 4.8 to 6.0 that it began). The other problem with Avast! is that its Sandbox is literally a pain, it loads on even older CD-ROM programs (like PowerDVD 5 from 2002) which is kinda pointless. Good intentions but not really viable I guess. Norton (I think I do have that version installed on a Vista machine) I've not really seen to be a big problem. Granted when the video card died its drivers became corrupted but that was anticipated. For the most part I still use MSE, it's somewhat light (remember, Pentium III) but it does love to scan your downloads folder if you ever choose to open it. Then again I rarely get viruses and 'Windows Defender as per Windows 8' caught the malicious PHP script I had found on another brony website. Go figure.
  9. Probably why I keep missing my opportunity to read it. XD
  10. The CCC isn't in the start menu by any chance? If I had the Samsung CHRONOS I would check but sadly that's probably the only place I think it exists.
  11. Prismatic is my OC and being a crystal pony is my game. Although seriously I haven't been able to do a lot of work since I totally changed him from a unicorn (or rather; 2/3s unicorn 1/3 crystal by today's canon) to a purebred crystal pony. I need to add myself to the database but just been too lazy to work his story. All I can speculate is whether or not crystal ponies really live over a thousand years of age and whether or not I'm stretching canon too much. His jumpsuit/parachute was originally a gag from my previous brony community but for the most part I've kinda envisioned this prism as being more of a recon pony. Hmm.
  12. One of these days I need to get an ATI card and learn how to use it and the CCC (Note: my ThinkPad has it but it's so out of date; thanks Lenovo) just to keep up with the times; haha...Sorry.
  13. I know with nVIDIA it's not the case with updates but I have never used an ATI card on a desktop since 1995. All I remember is that ATI can be 'picky' at times.
  14. That's not what I meant. What I meant is that say you've got a 2GB video card the system will allocate 1.75GB of primary memory to go alongside the card. Under normal computer operation if the addresses of the upper RAM is never touched then the computer will be fine. I've just some odd cases where RAM allocated to the graphics (not to confuse with the graphic's card onboard memory) is damaged but the computer is totally stable. All I'm trying to ask though is that for a good technical analysis we need to know what OS you are running, what CPU you are using, what graphics card you are using and what version of the game (if applicable) or any overclocks and special settings (if applicable).
  15. The game doesn't, the GPU manufacturers do. And sometimes the drivers corrupt if it isn't a clean install but I have not hit that problem. The other might be just a portion of your system RAM is bad or corruption lies elsewhere...Hmm. However as much as I loathe to ask it's hard to go by without the OS, CPU, RAM installed, any OCs, video card any what version of the game (if it's patched or not).
  16. The first and foremost thing you will always need to do is update the graphics card drivers. That is the one thing that continually changes over time. Motherboard, audio, sometimes networking drivers (not the case here) aren't really changed a whole lot. Just remember if it's nVIDIA to check the 'clean install' option (under advanced install) for best results. Edit: they're also the first thing to corrupt too sometimes. lol Edit 2: After going through my archives if it's a PCI-E card the system RAM may be faulty as well; not sure if that's the case.
  17. Limbo of the Lost. While I am a fan of point and click games (and I have not played LotL) my understanding is that it was a bit awkward to play with pixel hunting and a lot of it did not make sense with odd combinations of items.
  18. I've also been under the impression like with Harmonic Relations that a lot of ads these days don't really have anything of value. Back in the early days ads were very relevant and had something interesting. Nowadays it's stuff I've never heard about in China. Plus I think too Google has a trend that if certain users abuse it (clicking too much) they'll disable Adsense completely.
  19. If a site has ads that need the use of the adblocker I don't visit them. I've yet to use an adblocker and with the absurd number of machines I use I find it pointless to keep track of all of it. It kinda reminds me of how on a fan site of a web game (one of which had access to the actual company's PR) supported the usage of adblock on that site and argued that every single ad in existence is PPC and not PPV (pay per click/pay per view). I dunno.
  20. I remember when Norton Rescue utilities had a 'use Zip Disks to boot Windows' option. Needless to say with the Click of Death some ZIP devices lifespans were ten seconds flat. There was the more obscure LS-120....What else. PCMCIA?

What happened to the whole playing with you though? It would be nice for more coop games besides first person shooters since both get the have fun at the same time.
  22. I remember when Zip disks were all the rave. 100MB! DOS games will never die for me nor my local bronies. Last I checked they had me requesting to get them the original Quake. Haha.

If I remember the 'Broadband Cell' was one dedicated CPU and 7 secondary cores. Not to mention on the PS3 they had to add a Geforce 6800 Ultra 'at the last minute' so to speak. My biggest concern is Sony's model of newer hardware models continually removing features. The Xbox S adds WiFi and more USB ports while the newer PSP/PS3s remove things I felt important (The PSP's charge gauge no longer works as per software and the PS3 lost Linux, its slot loader, LEDs, touch buttons, etc.)
