visual art Slash drawing (stippling)

ProjectRKA's awesome painting of Slash reminded me that I had made this. It is a picture of Slash playing in front of an American flag. I used a technique called stippling, which consists of making an image out of thousands of little dots of ink. It goes without saying that this took a really long time.

Oh wow, that's awesome! I've never seen this style before, looks something like a spray tool from MS paint

 

It's awesome, only, again, as Project RKA's drawing, the guitar is off and would need some improvement. It looks more like a Telecaster than a Les paul.

I never could get the hang of stippling. Every time i tried i either made the dots to far away or to close to one another. Then i would forget what i was trying to create. Every attempt at stippling ended the same: stipple...stipple...stipple...MOTHERBUCKING STIPPLE..oh buck it... *continuously stabs the same area* there. now this is good quality art. Papers ripped and full of ink.
Anyway getting back to your creation. I like it cause i can see where the hat and hair would be hard to do. some places need to be darker like around the armpit and just a little darker in the leg area. My advice would also have to be frame it and send it to an art show or post it on Slash's Twitter of Facebook. He likes arts of himself from time to time

That's exactly why this is the only picture I ever completely stippled  It's frustrating and takes forever.

I did this for an art class, and it was due before I could finish those areas so it never got done. When I brought it home, my parents immediately hung it up in the bathroom so I never got a chance to finish it (my dad is obsessed with Guns N' Roses). I might still finish it one day

Oh.My.God. If Slash responded to me on Facebook, that would be the most awesome thing ever.  I would brag about that for the rest of my life. I'm definitely going to post this there.

Thanks! I think the problem is mostly that I had trouble getting the shading right on the guitar by stippling (especially when making the strings and stuff), so it turned out a little off.
