Food that uses fresh ingredients and every single part of it made from scratch instead of bottled or boxed ingredients?

I noticed that people tend to use bottled/boxed ingredients these days but I've always despised such products as they're inferior in every way when it comes to the taste and they contain lots of chemicals, preservatives and food coloring.

Mhmm. For sure. Fresh, quality ingredients have always tasted better and always will. I hate when fast food joints like McDonald's or Wendy's advertise things like "fresh, never frozen patties" or "fresh greens". If their food and ingredients were really fresh, I'd be able to taste it.

Depends on what kind of 'traditional method' and what ingredients used to make the food. For my part I've quite a list of traditional foods (which all of them are made from purely natural stuff, and some actually include cockroaches and literal bull shit) that can make you puke as soon as you catch a whiff of it, and some of those foods are considered holy in their culture GTL3P.png

If the traditionally prepared food is made of good, clean ingredients and the cook didn't do any fancy 'rituals' before cooking it, I would surely enjoy it.

Cooking is bit of a hobby of mine so of course I prefer fresh foods made from scratch. That doesn't stop me from being lazy now and then and making a boxed brownie mix or grabbing McDs when I'm on the go. I just try to limit the fast food intake to only a few times per month at most. Anymore the excessive grease grosses me out though so I go the chicken route or go somewhere like Panera even if the cost is a bit more.

Yes absolutely my Dad used to own an Italian restaurant and everything we made was the traditional way with family recipes dating back for generations. In large part because of this I am pretty spoiled I don't like canned or frozen foods very much because they don't really taste like real food to me and if you look at the ingredients of alot of them it easy to see why they don't taste like food. I will admit that I eat a bit too much and have trouble controlling my sweet tooth but most of the other stuff I eat is fresh.

For a while though I was eating the food at the service deli at the grocery store where I work a bit too much but I have slowed way down on that, lets face it quick and easy can be tempting when you are busy.I have long loved cooking though, it is very relaxing a useful skill and is actually empowering.

As a Wendys employee, I can confirm that we do indeed cook fresh, raw beef patties on the grill, and we make our chili from scratch. Our chicken is still frozen, though.

Traditional cooked method is always gonna be the one to be the best way than boxed or canned ingredients. But that doesn't mean the latter is good too. I still enjoy McDonald's, Burger King though not as much...

Eh, yes and no. My mom, with all due love and respect, can't cook that well from scratch; at least I've never seen her cook very well from scratch. I've kind of grown up on store bought-and-then-bake-at-home food. While some food that is made the traditional way like you described can be delicious when it's done right, food that you buy at the store and them bake at home can still taste amazing. For one example, I don't know the name of the brand, but there's these pre-made enchiladas at my grocery store that you heat up; they taste godly.

I love home-grown vegetables. My family had a small summer garden when I was younger, and my mother (who lives on the opposite side of the country) actually grows vegetables in a greenhouse year-round with her boyfriend. I'm pretty spoiled when it comes to fresh vegetables.

If I could comfortably give up my addiction to Baconators, I'd be a great vegetarian.  -_-
