FoxyCryptid 4,330 February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 If the MLP spin-off does happen to suck, being a member of the Highlander fandom, I'd like to let you know things could be far worse as far as having crappy content, we could have:MLP II: The Quickening(also known as "Alicorns are now aliens")MLP: The Source(also known as, "let's kill everyone but Twilight and get her knocked up by a random new love interest while simultaneously pulling a new plot device out of our flanks and saying it was important the whole time")MLP: The Raven(also known as "let's give Prince Blue Blood is own show")We could also have a season 4 finale where Celestia kills Twilight by mistake. We could have Cadance being offed so Shining can be hooked up with Trixie, who turns out to be his past lover. Now, see how things can got horribly worse as far as bad decisions? Good, now everyone just calm down and wait and see what happens. 3 "You know, I don't know who or what you are Methos, and I know you don't want to hear this, but you did teach me something. You taught me that Life's about change, about learning to accept who you are, good or bad. And I thank you for that." -Duncan McLeod.
Fridge 382 February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 Oh god I forgot all those things happened. I'm no highlander fan but I have seen all the films and even the cartoon... I only caught a few of the series though. 2 Street artist | activist | Fanfic writer | Fire Spinner | attempting Musician
Alex Kennedy 1,228 February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 Wow... that was painful. So many bad memories. Especially this: We could also have a season 4 finale where Celestia kills Twilight by mistake. That (the highlander death you're referring to) was such a terrible way to end a great character. I almost stopped watching the show after that because it made me so mad. The thing is, I knew from comments I had seen that he died at some point, but it should have been more honorable than someone not paying attention and killing him on accident. Oh, and you forgot: MLP: Endgame (In which Twilight is forced to kill Celestia in order to gain the power necessary to defeat a terrible actor) A season five premiere (and followup to the episode in which Celestia kills Twilight) where she triumphs in an epic battle by deciding she shouldn't fight at all. MLP: Last of the Sparkles (A terrible video game adaptation for a console that barely works and which no-one owns) Real men don't need signatures... or legitimate usernames. Zygen 6,066 February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 I agree, there is plenty things that could go worse, and honestly I don't think hasbro is dumb enough to do something they know would totally ruin their profits from FIM. I think their aware of how many millions of people watch MLP, and how many are bronies, and how much they'd lose in profits if they just ruined MLP randomly. I don't think they will. I think everypony's just a bit skepical after all the recent drama lately about MLP overall. No need to worry, we haven't got something that we can say is "THE WORST POSSIBLE THING" yet. We hardly have any info as of now. And besides chances are the new series won't do anything to FIM. It may even turn out to be a good series in its own! Basically I say its way to early to worry, and it really isn't as big of a deal anyways. Again I think people are a little more antsy after all the recent drama in the fandom lately thats all. No need to worry bronies, just simmer down a bit . 1 Thanks to Gone Airbourne for the awesome sig! You'rr not the only one, everything from the start of that arc on is considered "we don't talk about it" by even the fans of the show due to how bad it was, and how killing him off was for nothing. I'm starting to wonder id someone on the staff just really hated Duncan and liked making him do horrible things. I even retconned that one away in my fic. That battle pissed me off because we could've pretty much had Duncan whipping satan's ass, and we got that cop-out instead. I agree with the message, but not how they did it. I can't speak for Endgame due to actually liking that scene, but I know I'm in the minority. W MLP: Last of the Sparkles (A terrible video game adaptation for a console that barely works and which no-one owns) Since MLP already has a host of crappy games, that one is kinda a moot point. Alex Kennedy 1,228 February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 I can't speak for Endgame due to actually liking that scene, but I know I'm in the minority. Well, I know that scene actually is a pretty good dramatic moment, (except for the giant product placement that appears in the background in some versions) but I was trying to think of something that would sum up Endgame in one sentence, and that was all I could come up with. 1 Real men don't need signatures... or legitimate usernames. Luckly, cutting that sign out was one of the many things that they fixed in the DVD/VHS cut of the movie(along with fixing some shoddy special effects and adding more useful scenes.) The good one was going to be called Highlander: The Game. Besides, couldn't you say the same thing about Fighting is Magic in terms of almost having a good game? Phaeston-e12 173 February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 I don't know. Making comparison between a terrible idea and a really terrible idea doesn't really mean suddenly a terrible idea is better. They both end up being terrible.

Making comparison between a terrible idea and a really terrible idea doesn't really mean suddenly a terrible idea is better. They both end up being terrible. True, but one idea that as of now might by kinda, sorta, a little bad, doesn't compare to massive, festering pile of BS that spans over two decades. Last of the MacLeods is the terrible game that didn't get canned. The good one was going to be called Highlander: The Game. Besides, couldn't you say the same thing about Fighting is Magic in terms of almost having a good game? I'm mixing my games up again, sorry. FiM was a fan project, not a official release, so it still falls behind as far as this match up goes. TheMarkz0ne 962 February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 Woah woah I'm a bit late to the party. But can someone please tell me what spin off is being made. I had no idea that there was even going to be one
~Asuka <3~ 867 February 13, 2013 Share February 13, 2013 Ten minutes ago, I thought this was a joke. But now.... I'm nervous. I don't think that this should be a good idea, and while there are worse ideas, this one could be canon. I'm scared, but at least it's a spinoff, right? They won't touch our beloved MLP, right? I'm trying to think positively about this, but I don't know if I can. #1 Asuka fanboy. Signature created by Thunder Bolt.
