An iffy Hello!

I never thought I'd be joining a brony forum.

Over the last few years I've gone from thinking FiM was stupid, to kind of cute, to watching occasional episodes from time to time, to looking in to it more often, to finally caving and watching the full series. Recently I've been hooked on music remixes, mostly the 4953485 different versions of This Day Aria, and Gala remixes. I'm trying to watch most of the episodes NOT so out of order as I have over the last couple of years, and I've been getting more into the fandom. Most of friends are pony fans, and they've let me hear music, and talked to me about it (even though some of it was lost on me), and some of them even cosplay anthro versions of the mane 6 at cons. My girlfriend is trying to get me to cosplay with her, but I don't feel like I'm there.. just.. yet. xD;

 

I joined this place so that I could get into dicussions, and do something other than just look at gifs on Tumblr.

I really like a lot of the characters, but I suppose my favorites are, in no order: Luna, Rainbow Dash. Pinkie Pie, Shining Armor, and Celestia. Last one is mostly just because I think her design is pretty. /shot

Thats...basically how I felt when I first joined the community. Imo, forums are a great way to meet friends and talk about ponies at the same time! Today I just watch at least one episode everyday and go on tumblr to look at pony stuff. Guess you can add the Forums on your list!

Good to know I'm not the only one who was iffy on the franchise at first. xD;

I remember the old MLP gens from when I was really young, and it took a couple of years to get used to how different the one was. Or at least to get in to it slowly on my own, when at first I had friends shoving it at me, which didn't help me gain intrest much.

Also, this is a really lame question, but I see everyone with signatures, and I can't find any way to even edit mine. It's not where it usually is in the profile settings.

Yeah, the only thing I really knew about the old gens was the theme song, which I despised because it got stuck in my head so often. That's probably the main reason that I found a reboot to be so irritating at first.

 

Also, this is a really lame question, but I see everyone with signatures, and I can't find any way to even edit mine. It's not where it usually is in the profile settings.

 

That's actually a legitimate question, because it's not exactly easy.  First of all, you have to get to your profile page, which you can do either by clicking on your name in any one of your posts or my going to the top right of the page, click on your username, then click 'My Profile'.  From your profile page, find the 'Edit my profile' button (on the right side, near the top) and click that.  In this page, go to the menu options on the right and find 'Signature' and click that.  I'm pretty sure that it's self-explanatory from there, but I'll double-check just to make sure.

 

If that doesn't work, there might be a rank restriction on signatures, meaning that you're barred from adding a signature until you reach a higher rank (which is done by making more posts: ie. 5 posts = muffin, 40 posts = cupcake, etc.), but I don't think that that's the case.

Yeah I did notice that i had the option all of a sudden, so I kinda just went "Oh hey, it's based on post count. Oh. Okay."
