Dark Fox 151 February 23, 2013 Share February 23, 2013 Ok, so me and my friend are walking back to his car from a hookah bar and we think we see a ticket on his windshield. I take it off and read it, it's a piece of paper with: 3X52=? To answer, please call (xxx) xxx-xxxx What the hell? I didn't call the number because god knows who's on the other end, but is this some kind of inside joke or something? Are they hiring math tutors? I might call it later, but if anyone is curious I'll PM them the number.
I used to be a stranger 7,993 February 23, 2013 Share February 23, 2013 (edited) 3*(5*5)=75 Unless it's 3*x*(5*5)= where x is not provided and therefore is unsolvable. Call him back and say he needs to figure out Order of Operations. Or perhaps it's just a throwaway prank, like this one. Silly fun. ColtofPersonality 855 February 23, 2013 Share February 23, 2013 That's pretty ingenius. I think i'm gonna do that for this girl I like. Give her my digits but hide it with math questions. Thanks for the idea Fox! Look in my eyes...what do you see? The ColtOf Personality.
Dev 251 February 23, 2013 Share February 23, 2013 Just call them on a private number or something, then they can't do anything. Just to solve the question, remember your order of operations, powers come before multiplication, so 3 x 5^2 = _ ∴ 3 x (5 x 5) = _ ∴ 3 x 25 = _ ∴ 75 = _
Dark Fox 151 February 23, 2013 Author Share February 23, 2013 Ugh, I know the answer is 75, I don't see the point of it, it's just an equation, I so calling this guy. I bet it's some highschool kid who needs help with math haha
Killian Jones 2,655 February 23, 2013 Share February 23, 2013 what if somebirdie was spreading those around everybirdie would call a person and tell them "The answer is 75". Try getting several of those calls. It would probably freak that birdie out.
Betez 1,734 February 23, 2013 Share February 23, 2013 Is the x supposed to mean multiplication, or a variable? If so, then it is 75. Otherwise, you can't really do anything with it. It might be just a prank, although I would call the guy.
