My Very First Pony

Ever since I made my OC pony, Treble Bolt, I really wanted to draw ‘me’ for a long time.  I am a noob I know, but I wanted to share Treble Bolt anyways. 

It took me almost 2 hours to do.  I did it all free hand in pencil and when I was satisfied with the overall look, I made a red (a dark red color I can’t remember) colored pencil outline on a new piece of paper and did the same with the mane and tail.  She is all colored pencil (even white in the eyes and mouth), except for the outline of the wrench on my cutie mark, which is normal pencil (because I couldn’t see a deep enough line between the wrench and body).  I did not do the braid that my pony creator pony has because I thought it was too hard to try to recreate. 

 

For being my first pony ever (and first drawing in about 5 years), I am pretty proud of it.  I really wish I could do an ASK Treble Bolt tumblr, because all the ones I follow are just so fun to read, and I know they would be fun to create.  But I am not an artist, free hand or computer assisted, and I really wish I was….

 

There are so many artists out there from many fandoms that make amazing pieces, and because of what I have been seeing in the pony fandom, I feel encouraged to make my own work and not have someone else do it for me. I may suck at it now, but I want to improve.  Any tips, hints, and any encouragement is greatly appreciated.

very nice work did you decide what her profession would be? because i think it could be like making musical instruments because she has a music note with wrench

O.O  That is a BRILLIANT suggestion!  Actually IRL I want to do that too...but it's way too expensive for schooling.  In the Roleplaying area, she just helps her husband as a Blacksmith! Thank you, making instruments is now her profession!

i am diggin this OC! husband a wife team and she rocks out instruments too? a fillies work is never done! great work on the drawing, you ar going to go far with this oc if you keep it up trust me .

Thats a really great drawing actually for your first time in a long while drawing and first pony drawing! Much better then my first .

 

Just keep practicing and you'll keep getting better!, but honestly your already doing pretty well, so keep up the good work .

I really like this OC its got a great design and its cutie mark is so creative! Its not just that it is also got a great colour scheme going on there too!

The color scheme for my OC is kind've a fluke.  I was using that pony creator and I was just fiddling around with the colors...The body is actually the darkest 'Red' on it, and I just left it (lazy me)....

 

The cutie mark was the easiest to create, because I already use that symbol for marking on my things and have used it since high school...Who'd have thought it would have made a good cutie mark? 

 

I really want to do my husband's OC, but I'm a bit intimidated of the differences between mare and stallion and the fact making him a taller, skinnier pony (he's very lanky and 6'7" IRL).  I wanted to give his OC a beard, but I have never heard or seen an Amish Pony (he looks amish)
