Hello chaps and chapettes, this is Sentienthydra asking you all for some help building my OC Character, Mark, Joe, John and Ed (Plus Bob) the sentient Hydra.

Headcanon for Hydra

Hydras are long lived cousins to the dinosaurs of the ancient world, evolving many millions of years ago from the sauropods. They have survived through sheer size and an interesting type of 'distributed nervous system'; wherein their multiple heads each possess amazing regenerative capabilities, a seperate brain and fully functional digestive system.

Hydras are ruminant omnivores, their main diet being vast quantities of water-weed, leaves and other plant material gathered from around the swamp. Their guts contain a powerful acid/enzyme mix that can dissolve almost any biological matter however, so they can and will eat any small fish and crustaceans that gets dredged up during feeding, with larger prey being a highly prized treat and nutritional supplement.

They rely on their size and strength to tackle most prey, along with the reach of their necks and ambush tactics from the boggy lakes they call home. Some hydras however develop a devastating type of projectile vomiting, where they spit up powerful stomach acid and bile to subdue and pre-digest their prey

Hydras can live for up to twelve centuries, with a new head spawning every 75 years (capping off at twelve)

Most (but not all) hydras are non-sentient, and incapable of communication, let alone rational thought beyond base instinct.

So far I have 1D personalities for all of the heads (Plus Bob)

Mark is the 'Level Head' of the group, mainly interested in keeping the rest of his idiotic 'sibling' heads alive, he is by far the oldest head, being the very first head my Hydra got when he was born. His interest mainly include eating, drinking and having his advice ignored by all the rest, who instead listen to...

Ed, the 'Spokes-Head' of the Group, simply by virtue of speaking the most. Ed is the middle-head of the group, being the next head after Mark on the shoulders. Ed's tongue never stops flapping, his jaw moving constantly as he either writes, types, or speaks his plans and ideas for the group to follow. His is the brain that controls the legs for the majority of the time, roving far and wide across the bog in search of mental stimulation. In case of danger, Ed always knows he can turn to...

Joe The 'Hot Head'. Joe is a jerk, in mind and motive Joe is a terrible, terrible person. His are the teeth that snap and bite at anything fluffy and cute that comes near, if a casual read through a nice fan-fiction turns to Gore and Clop you can bet that it was Joe who clicked the link. Do not trust Joe, he is a liar and a meanie-McMeanie-pants of the most horrible type, His vices and anger only kept in check by...

John, the 'God's Head'. If evil were dirt, John would be squeaky clean. A devout vegetarian and pious beliver in Celestia and the six aspects of harmony, John is a shy and reclusive head, often retreating behind his raucous sibling heads to hide from the world and meditate and think. The only time John acts in aggression or assertiveness is when Joe crosses a line (Eating puppies or Ponies, playing unnecessarily with prey, etc). the only true conversation Joh usually holds is of the mental kind, with their final brain...

Bob, The 'Hind-Head', Bob is not a true head, nor is he a true brain in fact. Bob is simply a huge mass of neurons and grey matter that is distributed along the Hydra's main body, acting as a 'backup' storage for all the other heads, allowing their minds to regenerate with their heads, and a supervisor of the body's mandatory functions (breathing, heartbeat, pooping, mating). When the severing of a Head leads to the sprouting of another 'dummy' head in addition to a main, Bob also controls that head, leaving the others to wield their brain-power more effectively. Bob is a simple mind, one easily pleased with the borrowed sound and sights sent down by the other four. Despite his lack of actual sensory equipment, Bob is entirely sentient in his own little way.

Any ideas on how to expand them?

Thanks for reading
