Sombra and the Dark Star

I was playing a bit of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's inside story today, and I noticed that the Dark Star (essentially the main villain of the game) has a lot of similarities with King Sombra.

They both use similar types of magic, both are focused on making the lives of others as miserable as possible, both want to enslave and rule the entire world, and both don't talk, instead making sinister noises.

Also, the Dark Star has the ability to possess and copy the form of others. When it does this, it makes a 'Dark' form of them, for example, Dark Bowser, who was created because the Dark star absorbed Bowser's DNA. When the Dark Star copies someone, it gives them dark colors and menacing, glowing eyes, very similar to those of Sombra.

I was thinking that maybe, King Sombra was infact a good guy, but began to dabble with things he shouldn't have. The Dark Star copied Sombra's DNA, essentially creating Dark Sombra, the one we all know and love, killed the original Sombra, and took over the crystal empire. This may explain why Sombra is so emotionless (and unable to talk.)

Another link that could be made is that both Sombra and the Dark Star were originally sealed away by a great, benevolent power (the Star Sprites, and Celestia and Luna.)

Anyway, this has given me a lot of ideas. What do others think about this?

Hmm its possible.

I mean I always thought that there was more to this character then it seemed. However most of the back stories for Sombra are fan-made so it's hard to tell what his origin is.

This thread appears to be discussing MLP:FiM in some way, shape or form. Thus, it has been sentenced to Show Discussion.

This is an automatically generated message, by the way.
