poniesforfun 716 March 12, 2013 Share March 12, 2013 Anyone want to see a side of her that makes her more lady-like? I mean in her filly days she wanted to try out the more high class lifestyle with the Oranges. Just like Fluttershy has a side of her that makes her into a beast or Rainbow Dash's hidden love for books, I think Applejack should have some other side of her. Or is she better off being the most stable of the mane six?
Skygunner 352 March 12, 2013 Share March 12, 2013 I think the looming thought that her parents are dead, and the closest thing to a mother she has is mad and on her last hooves is a nice weighty "other thing" going. Not to mention that when Granny Smith goes to the great apple orchard in the sky, it will leave AJ to take care of completely everything. Seeing how all granny smith ever really does is charge zap apple production, that task may just fall on applebloom whom has been trained to do so, but maybe I'm just thinking a little too much into it. 2 -signature under construction- Going to a convention I'm going too? --- http://breakfast-tee.deviantart.com/

I actually really like this idea as a one-shot episode; I can just see some sort of situation arising calling for AJ being better mannered and turning to Rarity for help. That premise alone greatly appeals to me, seeing as those two are my favorite pair of polar opposite friends among the Mane 6, and I absolutely love it when they trade banter with each other. Good idea! Edited March 12, 2013 by Batbrony 4 "You'll hunt me. You'll condemn me, set the dogs on me. Because that's what needs to happen. Because sometimes... cupcakes aren't good enough. Phoenix237 353 March 12, 2013 Share March 12, 2013 You know this could be a good premise for an episode. Say a situation demands that she needs to be more formal or lady like. She could get help from her freinds (mostly Rarity, but also possible Fluttershy because she does have manners, but I would like it if it was only Rarity, wait getting of track, here we go, getting back) in order to act in that particular manner. We have some humor, some fun moments, a lesson, and where good to go. Seriously this can be an episode and the best part is, that I would want to watch an episode like this.

Good idea! There was a whole fanfic about this, actually. The thing to remember is that Applejack is the element of honesty. To me it was clear that Applejack's high class behavior in The Cutie Mark Chronicles was not true to herself and not a real part of her personality (Also, in my headcanon, her move was motivated more by her parents' deaths than what she told the CMC, but that's not actually confirmed, so...). But I think we already are starting to see this more refined side to her that isn't afraid to like dresses and such. In Season 1, she could be rather rude and intolerant of polite society (see; Look Before You Sleep), but by Season 3, she's hanging out with Rarity and just overall has much better manners. And people say she hasn't had character development! Good idea! Some sort of episode like that would be interesting. Or there would be an episode where Rarity needs help turning somepony into a lady and they look all around and Applejack hides the fact that she knows about high social order and class until she caves in last minute (maybe when Rarity is in a coma or something). The CMC would only know about this and would be the ones trying to convince her to help. Edited March 12, 2013 by poniesforfun
Sugar Cube 4,843 March 12, 2013 Share March 12, 2013 To be honest, I like Applejack as she is. I love that she doesn't care for 'froufrou-y' outfits. She certainly has experimented with lots of different outfits though. Some of these are nice, but others are just terrible. The fact that she wanted to wear galoshes at a fashion show and at the Grand Galloping Gala says a lot about her fashion sense and how much she cares about it.
