Celestia stared out the window.  She lifted her head.  "Luna.  Are the guards doing anything?"

"Of course, sister.  Have faith.  Their in Ponyville right now."

"Are their getting the ponies out?"

"Yes.  I also sent some guards to Cloudsdale."

"Them too?"

"Yes."

Celestia took a deep breathe and nodded slowly.

They look... and the throne room was empty.

"Heheh... wrong room." said White, smiling in embarrassment.

"Now we have to find the princesses." The Jester says, sarcastically. "In a castle that's the size of half of Canterlot."

Shadow Seer shook his head and focused. "They're in... their rooms."

"And where would that be, Oh Great And Powerful Support Pony?"

She rolled her eyes. "In the tower, of course."

"Let's go then, slowpokes!"

White Rose smiled. "Hey, comrade?"

The jester looked at her impatiently. "What?"

"Don't yell at the princesses."

"Hmph... fine."

And they all set out to their rooms.

"Here it is."

White Darkness stood at the top of a large staircase. He tenatively knocked on the door.

Fancypants looked through the spyglass of his airship at the carnage above and below him. Cloudsdale was falling out of the sky in pieces, and the hoard of zombies began to advance on the hamlet of Ponyville. He looked to his side, where stood his personal bodyguard and good friend, Steel Accord.

Steel didn't honestly look that intimidating for a bodyguard. He wore the typical sunglasses and ear piece one would expect a bodyguard to have, but he also wore his more personalized blue leather doublet that he kept nicely buttoned up. His grey and blue mane was slicked back, his cutie mark of a pen crossed with a sword somewhat obscured by his folded wing, but by far his most notable features were the two swords sheathed under his wings. Pegasus wing-sabers that Fancypants had commissioned especially for his friend. While Steel was always courteous and professional, Fancypants didn't hire him because he could act a part, he hired him because he could do the job.

"Quite a tragedy that has befallen our home, wouldn't you say my friend?" Fancypants asked.

"I'm just glad we could get you and your wife out of Canterlot fast enough." Steel tried not to show how much the death and destruction around him was wearing on him, and he was doing a poor job of it.

"I know how much this hurts you Steel. It hurts me too." Steel raised his eyebrow.

"Really?" He asked incredulously. "You seem so calm about all this."

"Forcive habit." He chuckled. "For years I've had to maintain an air of dignity and grace around business rivals. So much so it's almost hard to show how you feel when you watch your home, that you built from your first shop, burn to the ground." He was crying. There were no tears but Steel could see it in his friend's eyes.

"Halt! In the name of Lord Morning Star!" Came a voice from above. Two Pegasi, wearing the armor of Morning Star's guard and carrying wicked looking spears, swooped toward Fancypants' airship.

"Stand back!" Steel ordered Fancypants as he drew both his weapons and took to the sky. He closed upon the two boarders quickly. They both thrusted with their weapons, Steel corkscrewed, parrying both of their strikes as he rolled. Coming out of the roll and continuing his advance, Steel spread his wings as he passed betwixt them. His blades sundered one's armor and cut a gash in the other's leg.

Steel corrected his pitch and held position. He hovered there, daring his foes to try and turn to advance upon the ship.

"Please be stupid enough for that." He thought. "Expose your backs, so I can end this quickly."

"Arrrrrgh!" The injured one flapped furiously in a reckless charge.

"Guess not." Steel blocked the thrust with his left sword. He then hooked his right foreleg over the shaft and did a powerful flap with his right wing. The action sent his foe arching over him, still gripping his spear. At the bottom of his arch, well beneath Steel, he finally released. Before he had time to recover, Steel flipped the spear around and dropped, driving the weapon into it's former wielder.

"Even other pegasi always forget to fight in three dimensions." Steel thought before pushing off of the impaled corpse of his foe.

The other pegasi was not so easily taunted into attacking, he held his spear at the ready, but did not advance.

"Idiot." Steel internally sighed. "He has a great angle of attack from that altitude but he's not going to take advantage of it? Well, those who don't act first . . ."

Steel flapped hard and climbed up to his foe. To his credit, he didn't give Steel an opening, just waiting for an attack. Steel back flipped, ascending to well above his enemy's head, and dove with both blades forward. The spear carrier raised his weapon cross ways to block both blades.

SHW-TING

Steel used his momentum to somersault over the stallion's head, landing on his back. Not a second later he swung both swords downward and severed his foe's wings clean off. Steel pushed off against the second enemy pegasi, sending him flailing and screaming to the earth far below.

"Are you all right?" Steel asked Fancypants as he returned to the ship.

"Right as rain, my friend." Fancypants reassured. "Perhaps you would like to share your skills with ponies defending Ponyville?"

"I can't just leave you and your pregnant wife Fancypants!" Steel said as he hovered just outside the railing. "You just saw what a huge target you are. The best thing is for us to keep moving."

Fancypants' horn glowed and a lever appeared from beneath the deck. He pulled it and suddenly several tubes popped out of the hull of the ship. What appeared to be smoke starting puffing out, but they lingered around the ship. Steel eventually felt that he could simply put his hooves down to stand. Fancypants had effectively created cloud camoflouge for his ship.

"A little purchase I made from Cloudsdayle for just such an occasion." He explained with his typical casualness. Most ponies wouldn't know it, but Fancypants was surprisingly capable in an emergency situation. While not the fighter Steel was, though he was no slouch, Fancypants possesed uncommon cunning and was crafty with his spellwork. "Go Steel." He commanded more seriously. "Others need you more than I do right now." Steel smiled and nodded to his friend and mentor.

With resolve in his heart and his swords drawn, Steel dove toward Ponyville.
