gaming 4.40 update = Broken

In case you are wondering about the 4.40 update for the PlayStation 3, it's broken, as it'll freeze constantly no matter what you do, even going to Safe Mode and restoring the HDD format or the PS3 console itself will not prevent it from freezing very much, be it while playing games (disc or digital based) or just browing around the XMB menu and looking at the DLC packs for you to buy. Even getting a new PS3 console won't stop the update from making it mandatory and create problems again.

 

I stopped playing PS3 as of April because of the constant freeze-ups, and I kept wondering WHY did Sony even made the update if they knew the 4.40 update would basically cause the same problems as the 4.31 would? The 4.40 "was" supposed to fix the freezing issues, or so they thought, but they only made it worse, apparently. <_<

 

Has anypony else have the same problems with the PS3 from the 4.40 update?

I've played Bioshock Infinite for hours and hours straight on my PS3 after update 4.40 came out. I had no problems with it. I had no freezing issues as well. No complaints from me.

 

I also played Bioshock 1 which is digital and no problems there as well. Though hearing your problem, it seems to be horrible by your side. Not sure if only you have it or I'm just lucky.

Well idk, I havent been on my PS3 in a while. But I have never had my PS3 freeze, like ever. It usually happens with my xbox but thats xbox.

Basically, according for most PS3 players (on the PlayStation Forums), they have been mentioning on how the 4.40 update is being problematic for them to play their PS3 consoles on a daily basis and have said that even their PS3 consoles have been freezing many, even after restoring the console, HDD or even going to safe mode in an effort to mitigate the freezing issues from the update.

UPDATE: I turned on my PS3, it was fine for several minutes, but right after that, AND while I'm downloading a free game and several of the games I got for free with PS+, it froze once again. -_-
