open The Murder in Evertree forest... (RP)

"Hey, I'm guessing you got a letter too about this murder. Let's present our letters to these other ponies so that they know we were invited to the party." PittyPaws knew this was a poor choice of wording considering the circumstances so she added "uh...so to speak. Not that I would consider a murder a party or anything." 

 

Dawn Star gives PittyPaws a strange look. "She is acting awfully strange, but I am probably just paranoid. This is a pretty stressful situation." he thought to himself. So Dawn Star tries to make a smooth recovery and pretend he had an itch on his face, but he fails miserably. "Certainly. It would be better if I came in a group in the first place." So he lands from is gentle hover and walks slightly closer to the scene. *Squish* He suddenly jumps at the sound. He had stepped on some cherries from the cherry tree he was under. One of his white hooves where coated in red. He tries to wipe it off, but that just made it soak in more. "Oh my! No, no, no, no!" he thought loudly. "This will make them think I am the killer for sure!". So he stops and wraps cloth around his hooves (all of them so it doesn't look that suspicious) as fast as he can before PittyPaws sees. Nervously he says to PittyPaws: "After you.", gives her a awkward smile, and makes a "after you" motion.

 Grass Whistle watched as everypony examined the body with great detail. He shot back in shock when Frozen presented a gun to the group. A gun? A...GUN!? Guns have practically no use for ponies especially since only unicorns are really able to use them. Whistle decided to wait on examining the body for himself and chose to look around the fauna for any signs or clues.

 

 "None of the plants in this area seem to look unnatural...couldn't have been much of a struggle." Whistle thought. He walked back to the group to see if anything else had surfaced on the body. He wasn't much of a detective, nor did he have any "special" equipment for this sort of thing, so he felt quite clueless.

 

"Any luck...?"

"Not much even though the blood on the knife handle could be from the victim it should be analyzed" Equinox said as he made a forensic kit appear and got a blood sample from the knife handle. "Okay...blood type A+ no signs of disease" Equinox said

Pitty Paws walked forward seeing as Eequinox had made the forensic kit appear out of thin air.

 

"Wow. That's one thing I've always envied about you guys. The convience of magic." she says.

 

She then realizes that the other ponies are looking at her. She than face hoofs.

"The victims name was Shinx Lionstring born september 5th 1988 died today blood was from her own hands apparently so maybe she was beaten down then the killer took her knife she was protecting her self with and stabbed her with the knife" Equinox said as hepulled out the knife and place it in the bag. "Could get fingerprints off this but she could of had many visitors so we shouldnt get to excited" Equinox said when he noticed the gun Frozen found. "Good job finding that now anything else I could find out" Equinox said as he close the kit and teleported it to the labs.

"Oh we have letters" Pitty Paws indicating both her and the other pegasus. standing at the scene. Pitty than looks at his hooves

"What is all over your hooves?"  

 

Dawn Star starts to sweat at PittyPaws statement. "Oh," *he points towards where the cherry was* "I stepped on a cherry over th..." The cherry is gone! Is someone trying to set him up?! He can't go to jail for no reason! This is not the day he had planned for sure! "There was a cherry there, but now it's gone." he said, hoping they would believe him. Then he made the, most likely, worst action if he wanted to stay out of questioning: He tried to ignore it like it was nothing. "So what are we dealing with?" he said.

 

Suddenly, he sees something out of the corner of his eyes. A sparkle. He hovers over to it. It is a trail of blood. It keeps going from the scene to the bushes. But it ends after the bushes. He checks his pack for pen and paper.  But his hoof wraps around a letter. He takes it out and opens it. Good afternoon,

I see you have found my letter. I also see you have encountered my "scene".

This would not be possible if not for my "Business Partners". As you can

probably figure out, they have been disposed of. But you are something special, how would you like to join my group? We can pay you heavily.

It's your choice.

"I don't remember getting this from the mail-pony." he thought "Was it put in my pack when I was sleeping? Either way, the ponies have to know about this! No amount of money is worth killing someone over!" He hovers over to the ponies.

He was about to give the letter to them, then suddenly he realizes that the letter had a address to go to. It was his house address in cloudsdale! "Oh well" he thought, "they still have to know about this". So he lands, says "look what I found", and holds out the letter for one of the ponies to take.

 

 

Pitty Paws takes the letter  and looks at it. She then looks over at Dawn Star. Then back at the letter. Than back at Dawn Star. 

She then hands the letter over to Equinox and Frozen Paws. 

 

"You won't believe what Dawn Star found!" showing them the letter. "The pepetrators left of their address!"

"Sounds like it would be a trap if they left the address also" Equinox said looking at the letter. "What would they mean by business partners also...maybe" Equinox thought for a moment. "I'm going to go and check this address see what I can find" Equinox said as he started to head off then stopped. "Anyone wanna head with me to help investigate" Equinox asked

"Sounds like it would be a trap if they left the address also" Equinox said looking at the letter. "What would they mean by business partners also...maybe" Equinox thought for a moment. "I'm going to go and check this address see what I can find" Equinox said as he started to head off then stopped. "Anyone wanna head with me to help investigate" Equinox asked

"Well it is my house" said Dawn Star while he steps forward to Equinox. "You need my keys anyway"

"Should have cleaned my house, but like I knew I was going to get visitors today" he thought to himself. "Old apple cores aren't going help us in this case, especially when they are going to be in the way".

"Well then I guess we should get going then...what is your name" Equinox asked looking at Dawn Star. "You know even if it is your house it could have been broken into" Equinox said he focused on the address and teleported there then used a spell to walk on clouds.

"He asked me a question and leaves?" he thought to himself.

 

After a half-hour flight, he finally makes it to cloudsdale. He sees Equinox standing by the front door of Dawn's house.

"It's Dawn Star" he said giving Equinox a jokingly grumpy face. "Allow me" he said while opening the door.

 

The door opens and the sudden strong stench of old apples flows out of the door into the air.

The house is all dark. "Let me hit the lightswitch" he said rubbing his hoof over the wall. "It's not there anymore!"

"Would you light the room up?" Dawn asks. "and sorry for the mess".

"Its ok" Equinox said as he lit the place up and saw a bunch of rotten apple cores. "Didn't think of cleaning up before you left your house" Equinox said as he looked around the house and saw another letter neatly placed on the ground. "Was this here before you left Dawn Star" Equinox asked as he picked up the letter.

"I never have visitors" Dawn said. He opened the letter but couldn't read it due to the strange alphabet used.

"Can you read this? Cause if not, we could go to the library." he said.

"This just looks like scribbles on a piece of paper. This probably isn't even a note. Look, the person he had put this here doodled on the envelope. He had drawn a horrible picture of..." He realized it looked really familiar, but he couldn't remember who it is. "Do you know this pony?" He held out the note to Equinox.

"Hopefully Twilight capn help out on this at least" Equinox said to himself as his horn glowed and he teleported both him and Dawn to the front of the library.

"What was a Wonderbolt necklace doing on an earth pony?" Pitty Paws mused "You don't think that this pony is a girlfriend of one of the Wonderbolts do you?"

 

She asked Frozen Mint. She then looked around and asked, "Hey do you know where that unicorn (Equinox) and pegasus (Dawn Star) went? They were here just a moment ago."

Dawn Star searches around for somepony and couldn't find anyone. "I don't think anypony is here" he said. "Should we wait for somepony? Or should we just look around?" 

Then Dawn just remembered something. The others. "Wait, we should probably go get the others first."

"You can go get the others im gonna look for a book to translate this" Equinox said as he used his magic to look at every book in the library. "Which one would it be....maybe this one" Equinox said finding a book about foreign languages. "Lets see what you have" Equinox opened the book and examined the letter and book closely to find any similarities in the writing.

Dawn star took an hour-long flight back to the scene.

"Guys? We found more than enough clues for this case, but we need your help with these letters. So come meet equinox and I at the library, so we can figure out this alphabet." Said Dawn Star. "I would recommend that you bring the rest of the evidence with".

I wonder what became of Techna Volts, Grass Whistle, Moon Dust, and Brazen Wrench. Those guys haven't posted in awhile.

Pitty Paws flew up to him.

"So that's what you were doing. I was wondering where the two of you had gone off too."

She pointed with her hoof over at Frozen Mint who was stuffing something in a bag.

"We found some evidence too. Well Fozen Mint found it that is. A Wonderbolt necklace." Pitty Paws than decided to land so that she could start gathering  up more of the evidence to take with them like Dawn Star said.

"I guess it's a good thing I have my saddle bags with me."

Nearby, there was a pegasus, wearing sunglasses, despite being in the dark Everfree Forest, stumbling around, holding a neat hoofwritten note saying:

'It ends now. Kill them. Or I will kill you.'

 

"Hey, I heard that there was a murder that happened nearby, and I was looking around for any clues, using my holistic navigation techniques (as in, following something that looks like it has a vague idea As to where it is going) and I found this on the ground. Do you need it?"

(i don't have an oc for this pony yet, so we'll get to that)

The pink pony crouched atop a tree branch, watching the goings-on. "I wonder what they're up to?" she thought. she followed the little party, using an easy make-jumping-easier-and-quieter spell, and watched them. she couldn't hear what they were saying, but she was curious as to where they were going. they arrived at ponyville, and the trees ended, so candy sap hopped back into the forest, avoiding the section of trees where a horrible smell was growing. she found home and slept, hoping she could follow the group the next day.
