Lone Brony?

Hey fellow bronies, ive been scared to spread the brony word. why you ask? well ive told some at school but i live in Iowa, and in Iowa im not sure if people like bronies FROM THERE.

also at my school, people are very cruel or ignorent. i wish i could make new friends there or brony friends.

Do you pronounce Iowa "Eye-oh-wah" or "Eye-oh-way"?

 

Either way, I would only tell someone I trust like a good friend, at first. Someone whom you are unreservedly completely sure that even if you told them, they wouldn't be against it.

I was in the same boat as you for a few months. There wasn't anybody to tell because they weren't so much ignorant, but arrogant. Eventually, I told my best-friend and after a while, he became a brony too. Lately, I have been finding more and more bronies in my school that I never would have guessed. So, I guess all you have to do is start the spark with the right source of tinder, and watch the fire grow.

Best party in my experience to start with is family, especially siblings if you're very close to them, since they'll probably be the most understanding.  My little sister (by "little" I mean 19 years old) was the first person I ever told, and now she loves the show; we watch it together whenever we can, which hasn't been for awhile with college and such.  Just give it time and choose who you tell first carefully; I get that in certain communities you might be quite isolated in your bronyhood, but sometimes bronies pop up in the most unexpected of places, so you never know, you might stumble onto one.

There's a few bronies at my school (I sat next to one last year who drew......."erotic" pictures of the characters.) The ones I've met are usaully pretty nice guys.

 

As someone else said, it's probably best to first tell someone who you really trust.

Ehhh, i will always be a private, i told my brother once, but all he does is make fun of me, I don't want my feelings hurt and MLP just makes me feel better, So really i just keep it quiet :/

Everyone has this problem bro, its not just you. Where I live i really only have one brony "friend" (and hes a bucking genius) but the people here hate bronies, its just part of the media today some of our kind give us a bad rap... and people dont like what they do not understand.

Let them discover it on their own. You'd have to be living under a rock the past couple years not to hear about MLP and bronies.

After you make a few friends, tell them about the show, and if they start to dislike you because of it, then they're not your real friends, end of story. Bottom line: it's easy to think liking MLP is something you should be ashamed of, but it really isn't, at it's core it's no different than liking any other show.

 

There just happens to be more controversy sorrounding this one.

yea at least there is atleast one pegasister/brony in my school. but its kinda boaring and unofficial because shes in like 5th or 6th grade. and im in 8th 

i could care less if people know im a brony. hell, i wear my bracelet everywere, in public and school. i just cant tell them about the show.

Don't worry, I'm the only brony that I know right now out of everybody at my college (I'm sure that there's more, I just haven't found them yet)

Define cruel or ignorants; otherwise, you're doing something wrong. That's the case of me and other people from school. (Usually we go too far)

well I don't have any bronies in pod of 7th graders (that I know of) but my friend introduced me to 2 pegasisters they were nice but my friend were kinda on the the what's wrong with side of things for awhile but now they're pretty ok with it and some of the kids at my school are some of the ignorant people i've ever seen.

I live in a small area and only four bronies here so far (including myself) and trust me, it's kinda hard to find them here...unless they're closeted.

Try not to get down about it. 8th grade isn't always an easy time. A lot of kids are figuring out their own tastes at that point in time, and it can be really hard to find that special niche. For me, back then, it was Pokemon. Keep standing tall and hope the magic happens. You'll always have the net community in your corner.
