Senn555 242 October 18, 2011 Share October 18, 2011 (edited) How's everyone doin'? I'm 20 years old, a guy, and I'm in central Canada (Saskatchewan, to be precise). You might know me as one of the guys who rips Will Anderson's score / background music from the series and showcases it on YouTube. I love Daniel Ingram's songs as well (I've even ripped instrumental versions of the CMC theme and So Many Wonders), but MLP:FiM's score is really what gives the series its defining character and appeal outside of its target audience, IMO. InfinityDash (my collaborator; he makes the videos for the music I rip) and JunkiesNewb have done far more BGM rips than I have, though my primary goal is quality rather than quantity. I've done ten rips thus far, and I'm working on my next one currently. I'm also the brony who started up the MLP:FiM soundtrack CD petition - as of this posting, it's only six signatures away from 5000 (!). In the past I've sent it in to Hasbro, Rhino Entertainment, Shout! Factory, Intrada Records and La-La Land Records, though I may send it in again very soon purely to show its demand. Aside from that... I'm also a very big fanatic of movie and TV soundtracks and scores in general. I post at the Film Score Monthly message boards as Basil; it's absolutely ridiculous how many vintage scores from the 1990s all the way back to the 1950s are finally getting their due on compact disc now, thanks to the many record labels in California that specialize in film music. There are at LEAST a dozen releases per month from all of the labels combined, and this is where all of my spare cash ends up being used. Madness - but I love it. I have also compiled a thread on FSM based on the music from MLP:FiM, with numerous resources and links, as well as interviews with both composers on the show. Feel free to check it out here: http://www.filmscore...mID=1&archive=0 Anywho... I can't promise that I'll post here often; I'm more of a lurker than a poster, and I tend to be busy taking care of ripping music and other life priorities, but I'll try to stop by every once in a while. Maybe I'll post more about myself later, though I guess this is plenty for now. Oh, and you can thank Twilight Sparkle for directing me here. I'd explain how that went down but I'm not sure if he'd want me to do so just yet. Edited October 18, 2011 by Senn555

Tyroq 344 October 19, 2011 Share October 19, 2011 Do you copy/paste your greeting Finesthour? Anyway, yes welcome. Whether you just lurk or post a bunch, it's good to have more members! Especially ones in Canada. I guess Winter Wrap up comes late in the year for you guys, but you manage to survive anyway. That's cool. Literally.

Founder Twilight Sparkle ✨ 8,526 October 19, 2011 Founder Share October 19, 2011 Hey Senn, it's nice to see you decided to join! Always great to have more Candian bronies around here. I'm not sure if I would go as far as to say that bronies watch the show for its music, but the BGM score is definitely one of the things that sets it apart from most children's shows. I always heard that there was some good music happening beneath the ponies' chatter, but never actually realized just how fantastic Will's work was until I found your channel on Youtube. I used to think InfinityDash and JunkiesNewb just hosted videos with your rips in them - didn't know that they had made their own. But quality > quantity is a mantra that I personally believe in, too. Hope you enjoy your time with us! If you're ever having any issues with the site or another member, feel free to get in touch with me anytime - I'm always here to help. Feel free to tell everyone how you got here if you want. I don't mind. 1 Avatar credit: robinrain8 Signature credit: Kyoshi
Senn555 242 October 21, 2011 Author Share October 21, 2011 Thanks all! Anyway, yes welcome. Whether you just lurk or post a bunch, it's good to have more members! Especially ones in Canada. I guess Winter Wrap up comes late in the year for you guys, but you manage to survive anyway. That's cool. Literally. Winter and construction are the only two seasons this province seems to have. It's madness - I don't think the snow quit here this year until late April/early May! You're right, the music isn't the only thing, but it's certainly a big factor for me. The character development and stories are too engaging, the animation is excellent... and most of all, ponies are ADORABLE! I used to think InfinityDash and JunkiesNewb just hosted videos with your rips in them - didn't know that they had made their own. But quality > quantity is a mantra that I personally believe in, too. At one point, Infinity hosted the videos for the rips I made, but I split everything onto my own channel last month. It's nice to have that independence. Junkies and I haven't collaborated; I don't think I've even spoken with him at all, to be honest. Hope you enjoy your time with us! If you're ever having any issues with the site or another member, feel free to get in touch with me anytime - I'm always here to help. Feel free to tell everyone how you got here if you want. I don't mind. Appreciate it, thanks. Actually, I'm not sure why I even brought that last point up. I don't think I'm THAT important or well-known, am I? I'd hate to brag.
