I don't suggest you skip anything, every episode has a certain charm to it, and some of them are just fantastically awesome... so hopefully you just watch the show as a whole =)

Well first of all welcome to the fandom! Glad to have ya here!

 

As for skipping episodes, while for the most part the episodes aren't totally directly relate to each other, some things become intertwined with the story and other episodes.

 

Plus all the episodes are honestly so awesome. I don't know why you'd really wanna skip any . if you don't like them now you'll proably come to appreciate them.

 

Even some of the lesser episodes are better then the majority of episodes in a lot of more recent shows, when you truly look at it mlp is really well put together, with so much density..

 

Anyways I'll stop lecturing about mlp and it's awesomeness .
