[The Ponyville Critic 304]

((Yes, 200 character limit now, booyah))

 

Celestia looked up to see this scene unfolding before her, Celestia readied her wings to fly upwards and save Luna from almost certain death, she put her back hoof to the ground and pushed with a force so powerful as to send her speeding towards her falling sister. Celestia grabbed her with her magic and flew to the tallest tower of Canterlot Castle. Celestia focused and Luna's wings returned to her, they fit on nicely. With everypony in one piece, Celestia cast the spell to turn everypony back to normal, Celestia wasn't crystal anymore, neither was Luna, so Celestia jumped from the tower and flew down to confront Bomar.

"Cadence..." Shining muttered weakly. His mare had caught him, and she was hurt. The stallion had managed to catch Cadence's horn. He clutched it tightly while heavy breaths passed through his lips. He was exhausted beyond comprehension, but at least now they had time to regroup. His limbs felt heavy as they flew, and Shining Armor knew that he had pushed himself well beyond the limit. "I need some time," he panted. 

 

 

Meanwhile, (( we seem to have two simultaneous plots going on here o.o )) Wick stood on the ground and watched Princess Luna. He could feel his wings twitch as his need to help her battled against the tragic memories that ravaged his mind. His legs tensed up as he looked to the princess of the night. He had to help her protect Equestria. "Just tell me to fly already!" he roared to Luna, demanding the prod to feel useful.

Ignis growled seeing Bomar injure his princess like that.  Ignis followed Celestia, his knights oath demand that he protect his princess but deep down he wanted to make him pay for everything already done. Using a little bit of magic he jumped off of the balcony "Wick with me NOW!" Ignis levitated himself down to where Celestia was, "In the name of princess Luna, I will stop you." Ignis' orange aura engulfed two of his Kunai. Drawing them from their sheaths he took his fighting stance, it was no trouble to use them since it consumed almost no magic. This was a good thing, because even now Ignis knew that he didn't have much stamina for magic left.

"Bomar!" Celestia shouted. "Your army is destroyed and your plan is useless, i am giving you a chance to leave now, but if you ever attack my castle and my subjects again, i won't hesitate to kill you myself." Bomar teleported away into a haze of darkness. It was a questionable decision, but one which had to be made, Celestia was not the kind of pony that kills others on a whim.

Ignis's words pushed Wick over the edge of dedication. All that was left in his mind was Laizzy's voice, but the message had shifted, and it was decisively clear. Fly dammit! He was airborne in the blink of an eye - his wings outstretched for the first time in months. They ached, practically burned from the lack of use. He blew by Ignis, and his gaze narrowed as he began to mold the barrier. He wasn't fast enough to break it outright. Only Dashie could do that, but he had his own particular flying style and it felt good.

 

The pegasus chased after the darkness. He was the captain of dark-ops after all, and while Celestia hesitated to kill, Wick was not afraid to deliver mortal blows. He would make the demented stallion pay for the pain he had caused his friends. Wick would make him pay for what he did to Luna.

Celestia thought to call after Wick and tell him to return, but it would most likely fall on deaf ears, but for now, the attack was over, Celestia had to supervise preperations to fix the castle, but most importantly, she had to check on her sister, to see if she was alright. Celestia flew off to the tower.

The darkness had outpaced the pegasus, and with the danger gone, Wick's drive to fly vanished. He wasn't ready to be in the air again; the only reason why he had even made it this far was because he felt an overwhelming sense of duty and honor. With the evil out of the equation, there was nothing left in his mind but the horrible images that left him crippled. His wings locked up and tucked without command, causing the pegasus to crash into the ground with a thundering shout.

Celestia's spell changed them normal again, but Cadence's horn began to bleed everywhere. She surged to the ground, saving her husband but not nearly herself so.

 

<meanwhile>

Bomar caught Wick right before he crashed to the ground, but still creating a loud noise (( ))

He slithered as a cloud down the base of the mountain to the secret entrance of the palace. He examined Wick for a moment, who tried to kick him in the face.

"Potential..." Bomar muttered. "Still awfully strong-willed...but he'll have to do."

Bomar planted a Seed of Betrayal in Wick mentally. Their wills became one. Wick's new mission: continue his life normally, but spread false rumors and lies that would tear down Canterlot from the inside. A simple approach, but effective. Bomar shoved Wick through the door and closed it.

"And I still have Cadence's book," he cruelly laughed as he flew away. "The Crystal Empire is mine!"

Celestia went up to the tower to check on her sister, she woke Luna up.

"Sister! Are you alright?" Celestia asked

"I am, thank you for asking.!" Luna responded in a cheerful tone.

"We'll leave the others to their victory, but we must find a way to stop this from happening again." Celestia said in a serious tone. Celestia then noticed some commotion going on down where the battle had taken place. Cadence had been harmed by Bomar and she was in a critical state, Celestia flew down from the tower, she put her horn to Cadence's horn, the piece of her horn that Shining had, flew out of his grasp and attached to Cadence. She was fine.

((Just a side note: I can do anything, i am the most powerful being in Equestria))

(How dramatic and evil.. What will happen to Wick now... dun dun dun)

 

Shining used every ounce of his remaining magic to heal Cadence's horn. He propped her up with his head and collapsed beneath her,  finally reaching the brink. "I'm sorry," he exhaled. "I let him hurt you." His eyes slowly closed as he was bathed in her warmth. He just prayed members of the guard would find her soon and finish healing what he couldn't. 

 

(Edit: Shy beat me to it... well, we'll just retcon it to Shining passing out) lol 

 

"Live normally...." Wick muttered to himself as he wandered through the castle. He felt extremely strange. The typical voices of his mind were fading, replaced by something far more sinister and dark. "How can I live normally... when they all let her die?" The truth became distorted in the pegasus's mind as he climbed the stairs. "They all sat idly behind their precious barrier, while I fought and watched my sister die. Live normally? While surrounded by traitors? I'll... destroy them."

(This SOL roleplay is shifting into an action/adventure roleplay. We're gonna have to do some things with this though.)

 

"We need to increase the security in Canterlot. First it's the Changelings, than its Sombra, now it's Bomar. We need something to protect us. We can't just depend on our magic that could fade at the worst moments. We need something constant." Luna was thinking. "We need to research this. How's the library?" Celestia had smile on her face. "Most of the shelves and books have been a little damaged. Apart from that most of the books should be readable." Luna got up and walked the the library with her sister. "How do you do it? Keep a good poker face all the time?" Celestia looked confused. "I don't really know. I just keep calm, get my sleep, and don't let things but me." Eventually the both of them arrived at the library where Guards were moving bookcases and picking up books. They had almost finished the job. "Do the guards slack off?" Luna asked Missy who was sitting down with her nose in a book. "Only when they're really tired. They're doing a pretty good job." Luna smiled. Her guards were loyal and would do anything for her.

Wick smirked as he wandered through the corridors. Who would he visit first? And what exactly would he say? Shining or Cadence were probably in the weakest state for manipulation, but with the crippling guilt cleared from his mind, he could fly. Perhaps, he could crush Celestia. Maybe, it was time for him to remind her why Luna selected him to be DT-Zero in the first place. Luna, he froze. The name made him tremble. He couldn't hurt Luna. Luna sheltered him. How could he... Live normally? They betrayed you... Bomar's voice lingered in his thoughts, and the pegasus's expression morphed until he looked dead. Before he realized it, there he was in the library.

Celestia noticed Wick walk into the library, almost like a walking corpse,

"Wick! You're back." Celestia said.

"Celestia! I need your help resorting all these books, it's getting kind of difficult." Missy shouted to Celestia. There was something up with Wick, but she had no idea what it was.

WIck twitched as Laizzy's voice tried to conquer his thoughts. They betrayed you... Bomar's seed continued to grow. "Hello, Celestia," he muttered flatly. His wings had unfurled, and this time, the pegasus did not feel the burn. I could use the Black Star Flare, he thought. I could blow her away in the blink of an eye. "It seems as though I've regained my ability to fly." His tone was definitely off; even though he had been depressed, he had never sounded quite as dark as he did in that moment.

"I think you'd better go get some rest after that battle, you're temporarily relieved of duty, go to sleep, then come back tomorrow."
Celestia then walked off to help Missy, a lot of the books had fallen off during the battle and it was a big job to reshelf them all.

"Nasty ponies!" Bomar hissed, watching through Wick's eyes. He used a spell from the Book to get through the force field that the Crystal Heart projected. He reached the Heart and cursed it, again through the book, something that his father could never do. The Heart darkened. It would take a moment to affect Equestria. The aurora borealis that it created turned black, neon green, and dark purple with random circles. Bomar's eyes changed to match his father's, flaming with dark fire. He had done a truly evil deed. He laughed.

 

Cadence began to feel the affects of the Dark Heart first.

"That good-for-nothing stallion! I did all the work!" she grumbled. The reality of what she had said hit her. The guards gave her an odd look.

"What?" she glared. It was as if her mind was not her own..."I am surrounded by idiots!" Cadence tried to stop her tongue, but it kept going. She fearfully bit her tongue and fled the room.

 

 

"Wick," Bomar whispered. "Cadence will help you now..."

Wick lowered his wings. Someone's going to help me? The voice drowned out Laizzy's warnings. "I think I'll wait here for a little while," the pegasus responded to the princess. "I have a feeling that the troubles of today might not be behind us. The princesses have to be protected, after all." He smirked and gave a carefree wave. 

 

Shining Armor awakened to Cadence's shouting. "Huh?" he uttered groggily, trying to get to his hooves. He failed, not having the strength to push himself up. "Why was she...." he shuddered as pain tore through his skull. "Ahh! Something's not right with her. Keep watch..." He winced as throbbing jolts rammed through his head and limbs. Buck, I really over did it this time....

Luna felt something odd. Something surrounding her. It all pointed to Wick. "Sister could you come meet me in my room in about 5? I need to talk to you about something."

 

"Where is it!" Luna went through her things, She looked under the bed, in her desk, where did she put it? "It's in the top drawer" Discord had come in without knocking. "Thanks. Where you watching me the whole time I was writing yesterday?" Luna said. Discord abruptly left. Luna didn't really care as long as he didn't tell anypony about the diary.

 

"Sister?" Celestia peeped her head in the door. Luna came past Celestia and shit the door. "Did anypony follow you?" Luna asked. "No. If this matter is this serious than why didn't we go to the hidden library?" Celestia asked. "Because this isn't that kind of matter. You know I've been keeping a diary ever since I was a filly right? Well look at this." Luna showed her a page in the diary. It was an illistration that Luna had drawn. It was a mark, Sombras mark to be precise. A green crystal mark. "Recognize this?" Celestias happy face turned into a very serious face.

 

The shape of that mark had been a bruise on Wick.

Celestia didn't know how to respond to this, was Wick evil, had he been manipulated by Bomar. Celestia galloped to the library again where Wick was standing, next to Cadence.

"Wick, step away from her, we know what you are and what he's done to you, we just want to help you." Celestia shouted at Wick.

Betrayal! Betrayal! Betrayal! The seed injected dissonance in his mind that only further hurried the stallion's need for complete annihilation. His former self had practically been washed away. He left the library and began a slow, methodical trot in the direction Celestia had gone. He'd wait to get her in a tight space, and then he would unleash the Flare. The pressure alone would probably be enough to incapacitate her -- or worse. Then, his victory would be complete. He would have his revenge for them putting a bucking wedding ceremony over the safety of his sister. "Why would I need bucking Cadence's help? Worthless trash..." he mumbled to himself, (edit time) turning to see that the witch herself had arrived.

 

"Whatever do you mean, Your Majesty?" he replied with a grin. She had shown up in the perfect spot. All he had to do now was fly.

Cadence charged into the library. Her head was clouded and she was definitely feeling sour.

"Missy?" Cadence growled. "I get no thanks from you after all I did! I saved your life, Loser! No gratitude?" She magically formed an "L " on Missy's forehead. "And you!" she barked at Celestia. "You borrowed my conditioner and never gave it back!" A burst of magic and Celestia's hair fell flat instead of wavy.

"You're just a self-absorbed, lazy, snotty, bratty 'princess' who flies around and shows off her 'abilities' to all of everypony in Equestria! Well let me tell you something! You're old! I found you single gray hair that you plucked out in the shower!"

"Nice one," Wick commented. Bomar branded himself in both of their minds.

Celestia's horn glowed and both Wick and Cadence froze, Luna trotted in and noticed what was going on.

"Sister, why did you freeze Cadence and Wick?" Luna asked

"They were influenced by Bomar's magic. I had to do something to stop them." Celestia responded in an angry tone, her mane was now in her face and she couldn't see, a burst of magic and it flowed again."

 

Missy got up and became quite angry at Cadence, she cast a spell on Cadence, shrinking her into a small foal.

"You may be an alicorn, but so am i!" Missy shouted in her face.

"Bomar!" Luna charged towards Cadance who had also had a bruise in the same shape Wick had. After tackling her down Cadence shot a bolt of electricity. Luna got shocked. "I'm going to banish you like you did my father." Cadence smirked. She picked up the paralyzed Luna and was about to throw her out the window. "You wanna know why I banished him rather than sending him to the moon for 1000 years?" Luna asked. "Why?" Bomar was sensitive about it. "Be-.......

 

"Because we were going to get married."

 

(You know how you asked if Any of the princesses had lovers? I lied.....)

A bolt of lighting shattered Celestia's spell as it jumped from Wick's hoof. "Give me a bucking break, Your Highness..." He grumbled and flapped his wings. "You don't become head of dark-ops without knowing how to counter the best of the best." He took a step forward and grinned. "Thanks for shutting up the attention whore though. But, I take offense to what you said. You accused me, the stallion who lost his sister defending a worthless wedding, of being evil. I am the truth, and the truth says - a life for a life." His gaze fell upon Luna, and his stature immediately softened. For a moment, the seed was rejected, and all Wick could say was, "Run..."

"Who do you think you are you little foal!?!" Celestia yelled. "You think that intimidating me is going to work, nopony asked your sister to die you pathetic whelp, she died doing her duty, you should know that better than anypony you stupid stallion.!" Celestia's words came out like fireballs. Suddenly, she trapped Wick in a cage of Sombra's dark crystals.

 

((This is a bit of Celestia slowly getting angry, slowly getting evil.))
